Brilliant youtube channel . I'm an engineer but learning welding to bump up my wages hopefully. Finished mig and tig level 2 and start level 3 tig in September. May I ask what qualifications and experience you have to be a mobile welder 👍🏿

Metabo and others make a variable speed grinder which may help with not taking too much material off a weld...that 12,000 rpm removes metal too fast sometimes, also using sanding discs with a rubber backing that do not chatter/vibrate and make grinding very smooth......do not know if you are using them....but the hard wheels I only use for big structural when lots of material needs removal or shaping,,,,,I hope this may help you and others...... Pferd, Klingspor, and some others make great products......Paul

Cheers bud and yeah it is variable sleep i should have slowed it down,, because it was so big it never sat flat causing it to dig in

A quick question regarding your thin wall large diameter stainless video. My fittings and pipe are about 2-3mm different from each other and often out of shape (supplier) what’s the best method for equalling out the step on a tee branch for example, without loosing orientation? I’m used to small diameter thick gauge and don’t usually have this problem it’s frying me out!

Great welding there Bro😮 When welding these modern cars, do you risk frying the electronic ignition & various modules etc ? Do you have to unplug them all or just disconnect the battery ?
@ypaulbrown Жыл бұрын
Are you still doing pipe at the shop, or is this a full time business now..... always love your videos.....well done footage......I miss that intro music you used to have........ best wishes, Paul

Been welding for 20yrs now, mainly pipework, but also bit of structural every now and then. But welding on cars? That is the number 1 thing wont get involved in. Too much of a headache for my liking 😂
@ARCONEWELDING Жыл бұрын
I follow the same rule but they always suck me in when all they want is a plate welded over, when will i learn 😅
@tomthompson7400 Жыл бұрын
you need to be grinding with a 1mm cutting disc , and all your problems will vanish , you cant tidy up welds on cars with a flap disc ,,, they are like a shotgun , you need accuracy ... but like all that stuff its slow ,, what did you charge on those jobs ,,,, whats the model of the new kemppi a garden sprayer full of water , a damp rag and a fire watcher wouldnt go amiss either . and a decent size co2 to hand just in case.
@ARCONEWELDING Жыл бұрын
I do have a co2 extinguisher for the moment, and the civic was £350 and the corsa was £270 but £670 all together, and you are right at the minimum a finer grit pad
@tomthompson7400 Жыл бұрын
@@ARCONEWELDING trust me a finer grit pad will just do the same as a coarse one .. only slower .. move to a cutting disc at a steeper angle for better results .. takes practice at first.. I'll look forward to hearing about the machine though

I agree that time=money, but (i mean huge but) make your customers happy with every job and the money will follow. You will build a solid reputation and word of mouth is worth more than you can possibly imagine.

Great stuff 👌 Is there a benefit of pulse welding on sheet metal?
@JonDingle7 ай бұрын
When the welder is set to pulse, there is a split second (adjustable) where the arc goes out and that allows the base metal to cool a tiny amount enough to keep moving. When I weld cars, my welder doesn't have pulse, so I have to mimic the effect.

As a mobile welder, you should be prepared to weld anything but obviously have the right to turn work down. Having just watched your aluminium vacuum table welding job, I can say that I would have walked away!

I notice the main rail is cut straight through is not a recommended method here in car repair industry .one part of rail should be cut longer than other to create a ship lap therefore is no risk of crack or strain in one join . how ever is no big concern as is only a small repair. I have many years experience in major car repairs and restoration . Well done anyway Cheers
