I love how this story mode takes crazy, ridiculous characters like Bedman and Robo-Ky and makes them actually sympathetic and relatable.

12:50 Sol finally getting the closure he needed from That Man/Asuka after all these years, it's rare to see him get so emotional. As he usually has such a stoic demeanour.

Sol got his entire world flipped on it's head, realizing that not only were the gears he swore to erradicate meant to give himself and Aria more time but also that he's killed Aria multiple times. I honestly think he was going to have a panic attack, and Ky was an absolute bro to take him out of the room so he could calm down. I would not be surprised if Sol shed a few tears after that.

4:40 Holy shit, so the Universal Will is a magical AI that was given a vaguely-defined goal and evolved into a logical interpretation of its goal that was also antithetical to human existence. That is a classic hypothetical dilemma about the safety concerns of creating superintelligent AI. I'm legitimately impressed by the game's story now.

Interesting that in this chapter they juxtaposed the Universal Will, an artificial being who wanted to eliminate humanity and re-write them to suit their image, and became a human to fulfilling its goal, with Robo-Ky, a robot who is angry at his mistreatment at the hands of humanity, but still wants to live alongside them, love his dreams, and see tomorrow. Also, Robo-Ky and Venom’s contrast is great too: one is a being “born” into darkness and built to be a literal war machine, but chose to live and pursue his happiness even if it’s impossible, the other a regular human who was dragged into the darkness that saw his potential as a killer, making him a miserable person who decides to sacrifice his life for the happiness and future of others. I haven’t been in the “Guilty Gear” fandom very long, but damn, the character writing gets to me.

Man, the story of Frederick, Aria, and That Man messes me up emotionally. They were best friends who, for the most part, only ever had each other. They all meant a lot to one another, you can't deny that. Remember how Aria said that, to her, not being able to see That Man and Frederick anymore would be like dying? They were her entire world and she cared about them so much. and they cared about her. Was what That Man did messed up? Absolutely, yes. Absolutely. But you know, he... never *wanted* to hurt anybody. He was desperate, and things just ended up going in the worst way they possibly could have. It was awful. He never wanted for any of this to happen- why would he? What would he gain from it? Nothing. All he wanted was for his best friends to stay alive. The idea that Guilty Gear talks about, the idea that the people we know and love are what make peoples world's their own... His friends were his world. And in trying to save his own world, he ended up changing the world of everyone else forever. And that's just... Ouch. It's really tragic. Funny fighting game got me fucked up, man

The delivery of the exposition of the Original's pupils is _stellar_ writing. One note is that it sets That Man apart from his cohort -- suggesting his unorthodoxy (for better or worse).
The true hero's wish and motives thanks to it's friend. For it's friend sake, it doesn't mind it's own cruel fate. (Sorry, I'm kinda become some sort of hype man for Robo Ky).

His line is "yaray deka(やらいでか)." This is an old Japanese dialect meaning "I must do it" or "I can't stay without doing it." Perhaps it is a parody of the line from Dynasty Warriors or Kinnikuman. Sorry for suddenly replying to your comment over a year old, it just happened to catch my eye.
Hey arc system works after strive's ps4,ps5 and steam release port it to not only nintendo switch but on Xbox one and Xbox series x|s do the same for xrd sign, revelator and rev2 as well as under night in-birth for xbox one and series x|s along with persona 4 arena ultimax on the ps4, ps5, Xbox one, Xbox series x|s, nintendo switch and finally arcana heart's port on ps4, ps5, Xbox one, Xbox series x|s. Last where's our persona 5 rumble?
Seriously Arc System Works, give us a modern Guilty Gear game for the Switch.... If you can't do that then just make it one, or at the very least port over Arcana Hearts 3 or make a 4th game for it.... 🤔

unpopular opinion: That Man cares just as little about human lives as Ariels does...as long as they get their own wishes (Aria's continued existence, humanity's extinction). And is therefore just as bad. He doesn't care what Aria thinks; he would force her against her will. It doesn't matter to him what he does to Sol - make him immortal, turn him non-human, keep secrets from him, let him kill Justice and think he killed Aria...or how many people died in the Crusades. He regrets nothing. He would do it all over again. At least Ariels doesn't pretend to be your friend or that she cares about anyone else lmao That Man is lucky Ky is both emotionally capable (the only friend Sol has left+high EQ) and physically capable (see Rev epilogue) of holding Sol back from actl killing him 😂

Both That Man and Bedman have no sympathy for humanity as a whole because they both believe what they are doing can be reversible. Unlike the others, however, That Man is not sadistic or twisted. He doesn't care for what sacrifices he might come across, but is not willing to cause any harm unless it's absolutely necessary. Ariels is clearly psychotical and malicious because she has no regards torwards anyone that isn't a tool for her master plan. The Universal Will knows no true morality. Bedman also doesn't really care because he thinks nothing he does matters as he can just alter reality with the Absolute World. Asuka is truly a good friend and is sincerely very worried about the world and the future as a whole(afterall he is human). Ariels only cares about the new humanity and that's it. Just my opinion, of course. Character morality is a complex discussion.
