2:30 imo, Leo is the best King. He may be not the strongest and smartest (Ky) or most cunning (Daryl). But he can see other's heart quality. Even if Leo is not as close as Ky to Sol, he still think of Sol as human and want to save him.

I think the 3 kings compliment each other very well, On SIGN, we see Ky comming up with the daring propositions, but it was always Leo who saw them through, It almost felt like he was on screen as often or more than Sol or Ky

I think you have a point, though is the lore of the crusades and the aftermath of it explained in detail? Be it audio drama, manga or game? It's a really interesting take, given that despite That Man's good intentions, he essentially created a weapon to stop other weapons, as humanity often does. The truth from many moments in history tend to be whitewashed, and the lessons that should have been learned forgotten or ignored. Humanity easily forgets how we are the makers of our own demise.

Tremendously late with this answer but for anyone else that looks at this reply I believe Chronus is a "Apostle", those are the individuals that showed mankind how to use magic, so he'd be as strong or stronger That Man since he could dispel Felion. I don't think That Man was in a secret area in the Backyard, I think he was just "chained" in place in with that Felion spell

Also tremendously late but it's briefly mentioned in Sign's story that Absolute Defense: Felion is a spell that can only be used by either the Conclave or the Sanctus Maximus, which is why Cronus also mentions that That Man should "have a good idea of who the enemy is". In fact, the Cradle being able to deploy Felion to protect itself is initially what tips off Leo and Ky that the Conclave is behind the plot, and is why Cronus can dispel it while others cannot.

Near the middle of -Sign-, in the same chapter where Sol shatters the Absolute Defense Felion (Chapter 7). That Man tries to stop Justice from escaping, but Bedman stops him, and they are implied to have had a fight with Bedman coming out on top and trapping That Man... somewhere (this is the working assumption at this point in the story).

@@monokuro_maggie @モノクロらっこ Signストーリー上の過去語りと話を紐づける形になりますけど、日本消滅事件の真相として電算機器上に謎の生命体が発生した事件(日本消滅の70年ほど前)とほぼ同じ事が起きてしかもその時より状況が悪い方向に進んでしまい、結果的に日本ごとその生命体(動画ではXと仮定されてるやつ)ごと消滅させる必要があったみたいなんですね ...ジャパニーズが変化したあの黒いギアと同じものが日本に一種で300体以上出現したと思えばいいと思います
