I have both and agree with your review. Personally the cerium is my favourite but both are great. Zero rips after 3 years of regular use on both. The reason I prefer the cerium is the fit and weight difference yet its marginally warmer than my down Sweater.

The problem with Arcteryx is that unless you have a bro deal (which are somewhat common actually) they are not just way more expensive than Patagonia- Pata does sales all the time. I got the down sweater recently for $134. That's why patagonia wins every single time for me, unless you have a hookup.

I have an original Pat from around 2007 - still today. It get 2 season daily use. It has only one small rip in the back, my fault. I just ordered the new version. The old will be a great hand me down. I bought the red patches for it, so you can't even tell. After 15 years of use, it is still kicking ass. The Arcteryx having no hoodie adjustment is a FAIL. It will not stand up to the Pat in windy condition.

i bought the down sweater, it had a flaw, i was getting down feathers all over my clothes. returned it.

Question regarding sizing: why did you choose a medium vs a small, for the Patagonia Hoody - 5:47. They are a regular fit vs Arc'Teryx is a fitted cut. I am a similar body height at 5'11 165lbs athletic built, and i find the small Patagonia fits perfectly with a t-shirt or crew neck underneath. Just curious on your decision to size up. I have medium Patagonia rain jacket and its so baggy. I am considering purchasing a new jacket down hoody for this ’24 winter szn. Thanks for your videos.

Yeah I'm shorter than you at 5'8" but the same weight so I'm a bit more bulky in the torso. The patagonia down sweater is a normal fit but the shoulder and waist always fit me on the tighter side. So I'm a medium. Funny thing Johnny is a decade ago I wore these down sweaters in a small when I was at 150 lbs. If face I have some early reviews of a 2012 down sweater on the channel. Lol.

if I buy a $400 jacket and it rips for no reason, I'm gonna want a refund! This guy doesn't seem to care too much about the rips which I find weird. Watching him stuff that jacket into the sack explains the rips I think lol.
