Seeing the Rm training in this theater this just brings back all the stories of the incredible sometimes almost unbelievable commando raids throughout norway during ww2 and i'm glad to see the Rm stamping out its own identity as an elite fighting force again. I think after afghanistan the Rm where starting to just fade in and look like any other regiment to most people i think with the whole going back to the commando roots of 1940s ect was a good move to re-establish as a special forces regiment once again and not just another part of the british army

Royal Navy also needs to consider investing in "Diesel Electric Subs" to boost its Underwater fleet. UK being a Permanent member of UNSC & a recognised Global Power needs a good mix of SSKs, SSNs & SSBNs. SSKs can provide a much more affordable option for Coastal Water Security allowing the Nuclear Subs to focus on International Sea Operations. After BREXIT its for UK's Defence & Aerospace industry to develop equipment that it can sell to other Friendly Nations like Canada, Australia etc.

Biggest mistake i made was ruining my chance of enlisting 3 bloody times... Im 50 now but tried for the Marines but got told to try again in a year cause id been in trouble and had a criminal record ( 16 ).. Before the year was up and me being a cocky little prick id been in more trouble.. A Marine i knew told me basically let it go ill probably never be accepted into the Marines... So i tried The Royal Engineers and first time the same old story come back in a year so i got through the year and added a few more lines to my criminal record and went back and the recruiter more or less told me ive f_cked up joining up by being the little dickhead i was... Now im a 50 year old whos still being a dickhead but NOT adding anything to my record... ooohhh.well back to work i go and playing the Lotto is the only dream i have now... lmfao.. 😀😀😁😁😂😂😂🤣🤣😃😃😄😅😅😅😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

The British armed forces have indeed been on the receiving end of budget cuts over the past decade, but the Royal Marines probably didn't suffer as much as other units because they're considered a priority. Regardless, this video is probably referring to the change in their operational remit, motivated by changing operational requirements. They operated more like Infantry while in Afghanistan but are now returning to their traditional special forces role, with particular emphasis on amphibious assault and support.

Except they don't. They're intimately involved in designing our training each year. If we're no good is partially down to them and it's Norway who would suffer in a conflict.

Well in WWII UK troops abandoned Norwegian troops in Battle of Narvik 1940 with no heads up. And fired artillary at Bjerkvik when there was no Germans there instead killing a Norwegian family. Movie about the battle arrives December 25th

I know you guys train with Indian military in the Himalayas too. 18000 ft to 24000 ft, the highest battlefield in the world. But I unfortunately can't find any footage of it. Please upload them you can.

"They dont train with the Indian military" in the Himalayas. As far as I know, they TRIED training once with the Indian Paratroopers- Exercise Himalayan warrior 2007. Google that. They started falling sick. Some even got hospitalized. their fitness levels are nowhere near as good. These days they send their students to be trained by HAWS.

The SBS is the waterborne version of the SAS and deal with similar threats,ie terrorists, incursions, behind the scenes missions etc. The RM's are essentially classed as "naval infantry" and tend to fight alongside other infantry in more typical battle field scenarios.
