i use purple rain and i have white silk pillow cases, perfect. No bleeding at all i love it. I wash my hair about twice a week and the color has lasted my past 4 washes, a little lighter but no blotchy spots from fading at all. I don't like the purple anymore but i still have some left so I'm going to continue to recolor until i run out and let it completely fade so i can color my hair back to light brown.

You're so lucky! I actually dyed my hair back to a natural black color because I couldn't deal with the upkeep anymore. I feel like I either just got a bad bottle, or my hair just wasn't taking the color very well. I really wanna go back to color when my hair grows out a bit though, maybe a pink ombre with dark roots?? IDK but its hard looking at myself so natural! Color is so much fun!

Do it. That pink ombre would look cute. My color finally washed out and i used a color oops to extract the rest. Finally did a shadow root with a soft mahogany and i cut my hair blunt at the ends a bit😭 the purple was fun but i kept getting asked if it was for halloween. Hopefully you make a video on your new color.

Becca Buccheri no. not in the least. my hair faded to almost lilac after a bit. a good true purple color. after i used color opps my hair turned a faint yellow so there was no trace of a blue tint as my hair didn't look green.

I dyed my hair with mostly Arctic Fox Aquamarine with a little Poseidon mixed in and I had bleeding problems too with the blue, but I have not tried any other colors yet. Though it did bleed, my color stayed vivid for 3 months before it started to fade so Arctic Fox is definitely worth it to me! Great video, I really love the hair!!!

This is definitely the most insightful and unbiased Arctic Fox video I've seen so far. Thank you for that! This color is flawless and looks great on you! I'm excited to try their dyes because they all seem to be much brighter and longer lasting than brands I've used in the past. Mine was shipped as well and the consistency appears a little drippy/watery so I think I will mix/dilute with a little silicone free conditioner for a proper stick! Also good to know Hot Topic carries the line in case I'm ever too anxious to wait for shipping but that pricing difference is RIDICULOUS. 4 ounces for the price of 8 ounces is just heinous. Not the first time HT has been on my "shit list" regarding their pricing and products, though so I can't say I'm surprised.

I mixed the aquamarine color I had with conditioner expecting it to come out pastel, but it came out really vibrant and didn't bleed at all like when I used the straight AF color so I think mixing with conditioner would help with bleeding. (Or at least it did for me)

That's so weird! I've never had problems with it bleeding onto my clothes or pillow case. I wonder if the pigment changes things. I use Transylvania and the only time I notice any bleeding is when I was my hair. Very strange.

I still love the hair dye, it could be a combination of possibly getting bad bottles--or my hair not holding onto the color as well. It's weirdly just my experience! But now that I've tried colorful hair, I don't think I could ever go back!

Mine always bleeds onto my tops an some of my pillows.. Ive got sprayed with water once an the red bleed all over my top.. How do u stop the bleeding?

Although it’s cheaper on the AF website, you have to take into account how much shipping is ($4.90 for the first bottle). It also becomes more expensive the more bottles you buy (for example 3 bottles of a 4 oz dye come out to $10 for shipping). So although it’s pricier at both hot topic & Sally beauty supply, I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s cheaper on the actual website

I used poseidon, there is no bleeding of the colour (white bedsheets too), however, i got mine at like... $15 or so for 4oz in school(very exp). the mixture is like...really thick and smells awesome.

In terms of the pricing issue, remember that Hot Topic needs to make a profit. Yes, it doesn't seem fair that you have to pay more through them vs. the Arctic Fox website, but remember that they pay shipping costs, and on top of that the product takes up shelf space and needs to be sold for a profit so that the store can stay open, employees stay employed, etc. Yes, it would be lovely if overhead costs didn't exist and stores could sell you the item for the exact same price they bought it for, but then we wouldn't have stores. ;)

Feather the only reason why I mention pricing is because Hot Topic isn't considered a small business. I work in retail and everything sold is a fixed price by the company, not the retailer. I understand that they need to make a profit, but 4 dollars extra for the small bottle... and 13.99 for double the size and product. Getting it on the website the 8 oz is the same price you would be getting inside Hot Topic where you would be paying 12.99. I mention it in the video because surprisingly, not a lot of people know that the prices vary :) for the value it would just make more sense to get it on their website. I'm not bashing the company, I'm just trying to be informative about the price differences :)

I'm sorry you didn't have an amazing experience with this product! I've been using it for about 2 years, and they've always been wonderful! The consistency has always been like conditioner which makes it easy to apply with a brush or just my hands with gloves. I've used Violet Dream and Purple Rain on top of yellow blonde and the fades have been beautiful! Violet Dream becomes a salmon color and Purple Rain becomes purpley/pink. I've used Poseidon on top of yellow blonde and it turns into a turquoise green beautiful pastely color. I had an ombré with Violet Dream and washing it twice a week and it was still bright and beautiful after 3 months! I hope you try them again, it really is worth it! I've turned a couple of friends to this brand and we all love it so much!

Oh I almost forgot! If you have Amazon Prime you can buy the product from Arctic Fox's Amazon and not pay for shipping. Some colors may not be available but I've never had issues finding their traditional colors (not diluter, neon, pastels, glow-in-the-dark).

I had the same problem with Pravana bleeding everywhere, but now that I let conditioner sit in my hair a little bit before washing it out it's like a barrier that keeps the dye from bleeding out.

I had the same pricing issue! I was not happy about the huge markup by Hot Topic. I will purchase online from the retailer next time. As far as consistency I would say shake it up well & let it sit at room temperature for a few days. I haven't had the staining issue at all so hopefully u just had a bad batch.

use shampoo on your hands if your having bleeding problems. My hands were way purple because I did not have gloves on and shampoo got all off. Yes they were slit pink the next day but it was gone soon after and that was with out gloves! :D

You can buy it now on Amazon and just recently at Sally Beauty Supply. It is more expensive by a couple dollars at both of those places, but it balances out with shipping that you’d pay getting it from Arctic Fox themselves. Always check for coupons though to see what’s the cheapest at the moment

Thank you for posting this. Have had a hard time finding these two together something I wanted to use for a long while now but was unsure how they looked haha. Anywho, now I just need to figure out if o want to do this half and half on my head (horizontally) or if I want to experiment with streaks. Nervous. Also, haven't dyed my hair since middle school and it's so black, kinda worried I'll need to bleach it a couple of time so the color really pops. Also, when you toots come in, how do you go about it? Do you just dye all your hair again or?...

I got my hair professionally bleached and then added the color myself.If you're gonna add colors like these I recommend having a professional do it so that your hair doesn't fry. Also, when my roots started coming in I had to get someone to do touch ups because they grew in every month. Bleaching every time your roots grow in is VERY hard on your hair, so don't do it yourself! Definitely do a strand test first!

I bleached my whole head by myself and sort of eyeballed the whole thing. When applying the colors I started by parting my hair (my crown and the bottom layer separated). Then I applied the blue from the roots and thinned out the color where I wanted the purple to start. Applied the purple thinly where the blue ended and thickened the color towards the ends for a more intense color. Afterwards I wrapped the purple in foil so that there was no color transfer (To keep a good fade/transition so that the colors didn't mix too much). I hope that was helpful!

Just wondering how everyone saying their color is bleeding, showers. When you have vibrant hair, you have to wash it in water that's colder than room temperature. I wash my hair once or twice a week, I use purple rain mixed with blue jean baby, and my shampoo suds are barely even lavender colored.

I just used purple rain and the bleeding was crazy bad. I just assumed it was the brand. I've been wearing black shirts for the past 2 weeks haha. I had to change my pillow cases to black, its been bad. It's a shame because I love how the color turned out. :(

Sallys for sure and I live an hour away from nearest any place to buy anything like that but the color is A1 the consistency thick like awesomely so not to much and I did the same colors but mixed together and love it. My nails have been blue for weeks though. Only negative I've found and I'm looking in to the cleaning the extra out chetis or something a commenter said bc when I used the red red from arctic fox when I was ready to be done n move to blue 1 it was hella bright still after I washed it repeated ly with a purple shampoo bc that strips the best I've found (walmart version) and also my hair was in way better shape all of a sudden but maybe I over proteined. I'm very interested in purple rain. I have darker side brown hair. you already said toning is necessary for blue. but as for the purple is toning necessary? also I heard were interested in their diluter did you use straight dye then? I'm anxious about messing it up. I want purple, not picky and for it to last as long as the product will allow. I'm afraid of using the diluter and finding out later it could've lasted longer. I just want to point out, that if you only want to do this for halloween, the color probably doesnt need to last long, so if your worried about it just not showing up, use spray on hair color

I would recommend toning in any case with color so that it comes out the expected color, however I'm not a professional and I do suggest that you get someone who knows what they are doing to do your hair just to prevent any regrettable mistakes. So sorry for not replying fast enough!!

SO SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY! I enjoyed using Arctic Fox, but I felt like the color just wasn't staying very well. It would bleed to the point that my nails were turing blue! I would paint my nails a mauve pink shade on my fingers and within 2 days I would inspect them to see that they've turned into a purple color. I LOVE Arctic Fox, but for me its lasting color was a bit lacking :/

Hey Teres! These kinds of colors are semi-permanent, BUT if you have darker hair you will have to lighten it with bleach in order to get the color to show unfortunately :/

Ive used arctic fox hair colors 4 times already and they were not watery at all and every time i got it shipped to my house(i live in arizona which means very hot). Hot topic is terrible with the prices i went in after work one day from my job at vans and they said the small bottles were 12$ and i said wait a minute... for 16$ on amazon prime i can get an 8oz for 16$ plus free one day shipping so i told her nope. Plus hot topic didnt seem to have the arctic mist diluter either so it made me mad.

Mercedes French such a late reply.. But Hot Topic never knows what they get and when. At my local Hot Topic they don’t always have everything, when I went in recently I found a couple 8 ounce bottles of Poseidon which I bought, but the previous time I was there they didn’t even have the shade in stock. So it matters when you go into the store :)

I honestly hated the smell, but I seem to be the only one. I don't use very many scented products and have a sensitive nose though. The smell is REALLY strong like I could smell it through the sealed bottle, a box, and mailing envelope when I got it in the mail. My hair smelled like the dye for the next week or so and gave me a migraine. My bathroom cabinet still smells like the dye a month later so.... If you use scented products a lot and like them, you'll probably like it, but if you don't, it kind of sucks. However, I still love the dye and will continue to use it because it stays on for a long time and is so conditioning.

Great video. Go to your grocery store and pick up a product called Wondera. It is used to thicken gravy. You can use it to thicken the hair color with no adverse results. I hope you try it. Have a great day.

Actually tonning Your hair when they are too yellow before dying them wont do anything. YOU MUST BEACH Your hair till they are platine blond... The tonning will faid and You will end up with yellow tones anyways....
