I have this AIO as well, I got the 360 III BLACK version and upgraded the 3 fans to an Arctic P12 Max, and it is powerful! With the P12 Max upgrade, I can now dissipate to 300W thermal. On the standard fans, I think at 288W was doable. Right now I set my CPU (i9-14900K) to PL1=253W and PL2=253W, ICC=307A, under volted to an OFFSET of 0.1V, with a Cinebench 23 score of Multi-core = 39075, Single Core = 2351. @@KleoYan Got it! I wish the cold plate covered the whole IHS on my AM4 (5900x). Cold plate is large enough, but offset is wrong (or made to be universal, so they compromised) Thanks again!
@KleoYan8 ай бұрын
@rMs Good observation. This I can answer as why Arctic did it this way. Initially they wanted to do separate Liquid Freezer III. a set just for Intel and a set for AMD (coldplate on the pump already offset), which each have a different coldpate. the AMD offset coldpate and the Intel (normal coldpate no offset). But final decision was to do one unit to suit both platform as to reduce the confusion to new pc builders. So thats why for what you purchase right now. Intel will be perfect dead center but for the AMD the offset mounting bracket will move the pump down just to have the coldpate cover the vital part of the AM4 or AM5 Die.

I don't find them noisy, as mentioned, it depends on individual hearing, plus you can tune the RPM for the VRM, you don't have to run full, VRM fan can be tune in a way that during idle it can run at 800rpm, once temperature goes up, you can also set the max rpm run. Hi Daniel Dacorso, welcome to my channel. Yes there is. In my opinion to prolong the lifespan of a pump. It’s best to run it consistent rpm which I have fix. I can control the rpm of vrm fans and radiator fans. If you plug the single cable. What ever you control. All will follow, this will be bad for the pump. Plus for vrm and rad fans the noise you can’t control either. As all three will follow to one settings.

I’m still a little confused as to which of the two cables I should be using? If I use the individual control cable do I need to set fan and pump speeds in the bios and if so what do I set them to?
@KleoYan2 ай бұрын
Hi Mike Allen, welcome to my channel. let me break it down for you. for single cable from liquid AIO pump to your motherboard fan header. you will not be able to control the RPM of the radiator fan, vrm fan and pump. with the split cable, you will be able to control them individuallly. I would advise with the below settings. Based on X670E Tomahawk, page 44 download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/MAGX670ETOMAHAWKWIFI.pdf , the CPU_FAN1 and PUMP_FAN1 are at 3A and SYS_FAN1-6 is at 2A use the separate cable. 1) Plug LF3 pump connector to PUMP_FAN1 (best to set in UEFI as full or 80%) 2) Plug LF3 Radiator Fan connector to CPU_FAN1 3) Plug LF3 VRM connector to SYS_FAN1 all the above 1) to 3) you can go to your UEFI / BIOS to set the fan curve. as mentioned. just make sure your pump runs consistantly at either full or 80%. as for CPU_FAN or SYS_FAN1, set to PWM and you can set your own fan curve.

Great explanation. I see the fans are setup for push and the fan cables are daisy chained and the last one goes down into the tubes sleeving . What if you want to mount the rad in the front of the case and have fans setup for pull. Can they easily be flipped over and can you still have the cables go down the side of the rad that is hidden. Also what if you want to change the fans completely ? How do you remove the fan cabling from inside the tubes sleeving ?
@KleoYan8 ай бұрын
HI Keith Flanagan, welcome to my channel. if you flip the fans to pull configuration, the cable which is in the tube is long enough to cater for the other side and if you change fans, I would still plug to the tube cable or you can choose to plug at a separate cable which is directly plug to your motherboard fan header. As for the cable that is in the tube, you can't remove it. I will just cable tie it and to hide it nicely. As you can see in this test, for the LF2, I have done the separation, as I know if I am to use the LF2 single cable, the rotation of the pump and fan will be much weak. So I have the LF2 pump to my Pump_Fan and radiator fan to CPU_Fan. For the LF3, I am using the splitted cables and not the single cable.

Hi Good4Y0u, welcome to my channel. Nope my back plate isn't bend, the way I mount it, I will screw till it stops, then I reverse screw for 1/6 of a turn backwards. My experience on all types of mounting, be it intel or AMD, using Air Cooler or Liquid Cooler, I practice this, as too much tension between the coldpate and the IHS, escpeically AMD platfrom, the processor is very sentative. Too tight will cause system unable to boot, thats why once I tighten till it stops. I will release or unscrew the mounting point 1/6 of a turn backwards. Also reason for this, I let gavity of the tension do it's work and things dont get bend.

Does thicker the radiator would be better for cooling? In all AIO brand, the Arctic AIO only use the thick rads and does the thicker rads when installing inside a smaller case (Example: Asus Prime AP201) would take a lot of space, right?
@KleoYan8 ай бұрын
Hi MicerGlancer, welcome to my channel and yes, which thicker radiator and good static air pressure, your CPU temp will be lower. In practice why Arctic is always listed top AIO is due to their radiator thickness where other brands AIO are following. Example, from 27mm standard thickness to 30mm or 32mm. You see, bigger surface area will absorb more heat and to dissipate heat. With the higher static air pressure like the Arctic P12 Max, temperature will go alot lower. As for mounting into cases, there are restriction on space, you will need to check if it can fit to your case. as for Prime AP201, is a no go to use LF2 or LF3.

@@KleoYanThank you for your answer. I want aio 280mm because I want to build a relatively compact computer. But everywhere I read: "buy 360mm!"
@KleoYan8 ай бұрын
@@przemekn.8814 many do not know this, a 280 LF2 or LF3 can defeat the 360 on thermal and they are quiet to run. This is due to the 140mm fans which can run at lower rpm and to push more air to the radiator. Also imaging 360 is a cup and 280 is a plate. You pour hot water to both, when you use a domestic fan and blow both at the same time. Which will cool faster? The hot water in the cup (360) or the hot water on the plate (280)?

Hi Dead Cypher, welcome to my channel. Yes you can. After you have changed the fans. Just make sure your Lian Li uni fans are plug to its own controller. As for the connection on the LF3. Plug the single cable which controls the pump and vrm to the pump header on the motherboard.

Hi Arix, welcome to my channel. At timestamp 25:12, I have mentioned to check the back of your back plate and it will fall off once you unscrew the bolt. It's fixable, just need to carefully aline the back plate back. It is also advisable to do this when your motherboard is outside the case and on a protected ground mat.

@@KleoYan thank you, by the way I'm installing the Arctic Freezer III into a Lian Li 216 Case and was wondering if I should Screw the Pump onto the motherboard first before putting the motherboard in the case or if I should put my motherboard in the case and then, install the AIO, just wondering if the way I do it matters 😅
@KleoYan2 ай бұрын
@@Arixfishy my method to install this liquid aio as follow and with reason. The case is empty. 1) Mount the contact frame first (Intel) or Offset bracket (AMD) 2) Mount your motherboard into the case, with the case flat 3) put a piece of cloth above the motherboard, put the pump without the VRM fan cap, seating above the case. 4) Mount the Radiator into the case 5) remove the pump out of the case, remove the cloth, clean the Processor with alochol, apply thermal paste 6) remove the protective plastic from the pump block cold pate, clean with alcohol. 7) plug the 3-In-1 or 1 cable to your block, tug the cable to it's location on the pump, shown at time stamp 32:56 8) Mount the pump block to your processor as illustrated at timestamp 25:12 Reason I did it this way, it's more practical with lesser movements. I find it clumpsy to handle PC parts when you have the Pump mounted first, imaging you mount it first outside the case, both your hands are occupied, one hand holding the motherboard and the other on the radiator. When mounting the motherboard as you holding the radiator, you need to align the motherboard to it's position (Motherboard standoffs and the rear i/o slot) Even if you place the radiator somewhere on the case, but movement to align the motherboard to the case standoffs, including the alignment of the rear I/O to the case slot, accident might happened. Your radiator might just fall from the place you've placed it. Ended up, you might damage the motherboard if the radiator hits it. This section are addition info. 09) plug the front I/O cables to your motherboard and do cable management first. 10) plug the modular cables that are required (motherboard 24pin , EPS 8pin, GPU 12vhpwr or 8pin PCIE) to your PSU 11) Mount your PSU to the case 12) Connect these cables, the motherboard 24pin cable and the 8pin EPS cable to your motherboard, again do cable management first 13) route your 8pin PCIE or 12VHPWR cable to where your GPU will be connected. 14) before you mount your case fans to the case, cable managed them first then mount it to the case, you need to know plan properly as you need to connect the Fan connectors on your motherboard. 15) Mount your GPU and plug either the 8pin PCIE cable or the 12VHPWR cable to your GPU. as you can see why i do cable management at each section first, this will save time and less cable mess. Alot faces this problem, due to the cable mess when they do the cable management at very end. Very good video, what is the noise comparison between the 280mm iii and the 320mm iii?
@KleoYan7 ай бұрын
Hi guillado gui, welcome to my channel, just my opinion. both are quiet but some says it's loud. in comparision between 280 and 360 of the LF3. 280 will definately be of less noise as the 140mm fans RPM is lower but grabs more air pressure. This is due to the bigger blade diameter.

Where are the actual fan cables? Are they running under the sleeve of the hoses to the pump section? Am I missing something? What if you want to replace the fans?
@KleoYan2 ай бұрын
Hi Dēmḗtrios, welcome to my channel. The fan cables are hidding under the sleeves. if you are to replace fans I would advise you to check the ampere of your fans. if it total up to less then 1A, then proceed to use back the connector which is located at the hose (radiator area) to connect your replaced fans. If you are using Lian Li uni fans. AL, SL, TL or even SL-Inf, I would advise you to plug it to their controller / hub and not to the fan connector of this liquid AIO.

Hello killeragosta, welcome to my channel. I am using a year 2019 Arctic LF2 which is no reversion, but I what I did on the LF2 is, I separate the pump and the fan on different fan header. Pump to the W_Pump header and Radiator fans to the CPU_FAN header.
