I don't know what others saying about the "persona" or "style", they've grown up and they age like a fine wine, his voice is getting better and the way he sings all the old songs is just "GOLD", many would prefer the little Alex for the first album and that's understandable but after Humbug his voice became what you can hear in this song as well. You can say his voice "Smashed through the glass ceiling and it is looking better than ever" :D

I feel like this persona is just a way to push the anxiety to the back of his mind, just a coping mechanism. So many people think it's deeper than it is and that he's a knob, but I believe he's a simple man with high intellect - that can sometimes be a curse.
@toxtapodi25143 жыл бұрын
@@Duaality. Yeah, I can't agree more. He's always been like that but with slight changes. It's the perfect way hiding anxiety. After all, he seems like he has a "persona" but I don't think he has. That's how humorous and intellectual people appear to others.

i've found that to pull off even close to his singing performance, you have to be into it - you can be a technically great singer and miss that little nuance you pointed out - every note that sustains two measures there is an opportunity to slide it and play around with it but nail it - and that's what alex appears to be born for - when he was young and just reshaping it and twisting it into beautiful knots as he ages. The best active rockstar alive for sure.

@patriciofernandez27113 жыл бұрын
@@davidtabor2465 Oh I see what you mean. Yeah, rock music isn't in the mainstream anymore, hasn't been for a couple years, but why does it have to be? I mean a "rockstar" is no different than a rapper or a popstar, that title says nothing about the quality of their output. Rock lost its appeal to the general public the same way jazz did, but jazz kept on evolving and while it didn't go back to being the norm it retained its loyal niche audience. I don't see why it can't be the same for rock.
