I was there, been to Glastonbury 3 times. One of the best experiences in terms of music and good times you can ever have. The biggest and best festival in the world. Also seen Arctics 7 times. Love them

The crowd is so massive because for one it is Glastonbury festival, the biggest in the UK and one of the biggest in the world and also the Arctic Monkeys are huge especially in the UK I think they drew somewhere in the region of 120,000 that night

There are shows and then there are shows. One of the best performances I've ever seen was Paco de Lucía at Lincoln Rd. in Miami Beach. Dude came on stage, sat down on his stool, and played his ass off. He never once acknowledged the audience. Another great show was John Lee Hooker. Pops was old. Eighty something. Had to be helped onto the stage and sat down onto his stool. Plugged in that huge red thing, went into "Boom boom", and the crowd moved like you've never seen. And I've been in a few mosh pits in my time. Hooker did dance on his stool, but never moved from there. Then there's the NIN set in Saratoga at Lollapalooza '91. On a day where Butthole Surfers shot guns in the air, Reznor & Co. brought the amphitheater down, and scared the hell out of a lot of people.

Seen Arctic Monkeys at Glasto 2007. It was ... Words fail. Guys on shoulders are fine. IDGAF about who is blocking everybody's view. And here in Europe/at Glasto, sexy and wardrobe malfunctions and sex dolls at fezzies are not a bug, but a feature! Says this 48 year old "lady".

Great review but an interesting comment on Dream Theater. I went to see them in Feb 2014 in London. There was a bunch of crowd interaction, visuals, curtain drop entrance, on screen imagery be it animated or closer shots of the artists, Mangini drum solo on Enigma Machine which engages the crowd and a lot of energy from Rudess and LaBrie too. May be worth a revisit in the near future?
