That's fantastic! Thank you for sharing your experience, and I wish you good luck the next steps of the recruiting steps (it's looong at amazon...). Do you know if amazon uses the test now across the board (somebody else who applied to amazon recently said he also had to take the test), or is it used for certain positions? Also, how does amazon label (name) the test? If you do not like to answer in public, kindly contact me on LinkedIn, would be super interested to hear this 🙂

Gowling WLG uses this for their online assessment and I found this video very helpful in preparing for this assessment. The test is exactly as described. For anyone else taking the test I would say not to focus on getting the task right, but focus on showing a thought through process. I tried too hard to get the best results, and some of my test results came back saying I was too impulsive, and did not adapt to contexts. Thanks very much for this video 👍

@TanazParbeen4 күн бұрын
@@overallburrito It's like equations, e.g if there's a balance scale with one side one square and another side 2 circles forming a balance, then they will give you another scale with 2 square in one side and you need to put the certain shaped object on the other side which will create a balance, in this case 4 circles.
@user-ov7tk8ov6e3 ай бұрын
Thank you for the incredibly helpful video on the Arctic Shores assessment! It clarified so much for me and really boosted my confidence. Keep up the great work! I had game called "Balance". I tried to explain better here. Hope it will be helpful to everyone. In the game "Balance," initially there are four tubes: First Tube: Contains various shaped objects. Second Tube: Contains objects that are equivalent in value to the objects in the first tube. Third Tube: Contains different shaped objects. Fourth Tube: Our task is to determine the shapes that are equivalent to those in the third tube. For example: First Tube: 2 star shapes and 1 cube shape. Second Tube: 3 diamond shapes. This shows that 2 stars and 1 cube are equivalent to 3 diamonds. Now, consider the third and fourth tubes: Third Tube: 1 star shape and 2 cube shapes. Fourth Tube: You need to find the equivalent shapes. Based on the previous equivalence, you might determine that: 1 star shape is equivalent to 1.5 diamond shapes (half the value of 2 stars). 2 cube shapes are equivalent to 2 diamond shapes. So, 1 star shape and 2 cube shapes would be equivalent to 1.5 + 2 = 3.5 diamond shapes. As the game progresses, the number of tubes increases. I have encountered up to 8 tubes, where the challenge is to find the answer for the 8th tube.

Hi there! WOW, thank you for your nice compliments AND taking the time to share your experience with the YOUinConsultng community. This is extremely helpful!!! The balance game had not been there at the time of making of the video. Thank you for breaking it down, even with an example 😉 Your description is very clear. In regards to your example (1 star, 2 cubes and 3 diamonds), I think it is not possible to infer the value of stars and cubes, since it is one equation with three unknowns. I therefore also do not fully get how you derive the values of 1 star and 1 cube in your example. Anyway, the principle is clear now! I hope you have passed your assignment 🙂

Pymetrics is another provider of a gamified online assessment. Thank you for the video! I my assessment today and think it all went pretty well apart from the electricity game. I did each power lever twice at the start and ruled out one of them as it gave a negative return. The one that gave 100+ hit me with -1250 quite frequently so I stopped using that one and just used the two 50+ ones which had little decreases every now and then. So I think I ended up somewhere between 2000-3000 by the end. Because I was still quite short of the 6000, does that mean I probably failed the test or because I showed some logic I will still get credit? Once I selected the two I was going to persist with I started clicking pretty quickly so hopefully that doesn't look too bad.

Hi Chris, thanks for sharing your self-reflection. I think you did right by recognizing the "quick & greedy" solution did not work out. You recognized the pattern and avoided that switch and chose the more risk-averse approach, which the software probably regognized. Then, we'll compare those strengths to the ones linked to success in the role, company culture, or both. The best way to succeed? Just be yourself. Then, we've designed the aptitude part to test your reasoning ability. You'll need to apply logical reasoning here, interpreting the information you're given to solve a series of problems. @YOUinConsulting10 күн бұрын
Hi there! Thank you for putting your heart out there. First, I am sorry about your frustration. As per my understanding, neurodiversity describes a situation where a brain works different from the "norm". Does it count as a disability? I mean for all tests, all companies and test providers claim that if you come with a certain condition, you should contact them in advance to taking the test so that they can make adjustments, such as giving you extra time. I am not sure whether this is to your disadvantage, given companies also have diversity hiring targets, and in some countries, are encouraged to hire employees with a disability. Second, I am receiving a surpringly high number of requests from applicants who ask me to take their test on their behalf. I am afraid this is illegal and I must reject such requests. Depending on your specific situation, I suggest you find out what is the best way for you to prepare for and take such assignments.

@@YOUinConsultinghi, i have an up coming exam for AEMO, should i expect similar games in assessment? And any thing extra i need to be prepared for test? I want to reach any level to practice and clear this test

Hi, does AEMO stand for the Australian Energy Market Operator? If it still deals you the Arctic Shores test, then the games in the video are those to expect. You can watch some parts of the video again during the breaks between your games to refresh your mind. I think there is no need to acquire further knowledge. If you want to practice the test in a simulation before taking it, there is the paid simulation available.

Was ist das Problem? Wenn Du mit meinem deutschen Akzent nicht zurechtkommst, mach Dir die englischen Untertitel an, dann kannst Du mitlesen 👍🏼

@@YOUinConsulting gibt kein Problem. Habe nur gesagt, dass es unglaublich schwierig ist zuzuhören. Oder steht da was anderes? 😂

@@Fragrancefreak4442 Ok, mir ist nicht klar, ob es an meiner Aussprache oder Deinen Englischkenntnissen liegt. In jedem Fall hoffe ich, dass Dir die Untertitel - und vor allem das Video! 😉 - weiterhelfen!
