Suck It & See is such an honest and sweet record. Such playful and yet deeply serious lyrics. Alex’s vocals on it feel super pure, like he wasn’t trying to have a deeper voice or sound any certain way. It’s just the “real” Alex.

Sometimes it works out for the better that way. I’ve been listening to them since the first album and after the second album I’ve been feeling like they’re declining in quality with each album. I couldn’t get into base hotel at all. I couldn’t even finish hearing the full album the first time because I thought it was so awful.

Ive always loved that Arctic monkeys have never let any "real" fan down.... when whatever people say i am, i am not came out it was so amazing! Favourite Worst Nightmare was even Better! then Humbug was Better then that! and now suck it and see comes and its probably the best album theyve put on. alot of bands loose most of their fans by the second album but these guys just keep going! Hopefully they reach more then 10 albums :*

he has a way of perfectly describing and evoking the feelings involved in relationships with women. I love the line 'your fingers dimming the lights, like you're used to being told that your trouble' from Stuck on the Puzzle or 'with folded arms you occupied the bench like toothache, stood and puffed your chest out like you never lost a war' from Crying Lightning. He's so good at using little characteristics to bring people to life, it's all so well observed.
