The latest AD release from Ardnamurchan is out and continues the brilliant evolution of this most maritime of whiskys. A few sips Dave is away on a spiritual journey through flavour country.

Real good job on the reviews gents! Been watching for a few years now, and I'm always entertained. About the peat - distilleries not on Islay cannot use peat from Islay as it is protected (I believe like cognac cannot use grapes outside its own region). I asked this a few years ago when I was visiting Springbank distillery, and they told me that many distilleries use peat from around the area of Tomintoul in North East Scotland. This is probably why Ardmore's peatiness is so much different than Ardbeg for instance. Keep up the good work guys!

Well done chaps, another good review. This distillery is producing something very special and I suspect it will only get better, with time. They are the real deal and my thought is if you are going to spend money of something as essential as whisky these are the people to spend it on. PS good to see your numbers starting to creep up.

The QR code will tell you all the information you could possibly want, including every cask in the vatting. I slightly preferred AD/01.21:01 (batch 2) over this one.

@@thisboycharles The peat and salinity is more present in the batch 2 and it seems to have a bit more body to it. I've since picked up the batch 5 (AD/07.21.05) and also prefer it over the batch 3. Batch 2 still beats them both though.

@@TheSingleMaltReview I've only imported whisky once - the Australian alcohol duties and taxes are a killer as well.
