I don't have the same batch, but what really struck me about Ardnamurchan is the level of development on the palate for such a young whisky. There are plenty of 12-year-old OBs out there that don't have this amount of flavour. Really well done, balanced, and elegant!

In such agreement with you! Amazing liquids.

I ran across this and bought it simply due to their transparency. Distillers should take note.

Great flavour descriptors, Phil. Many thanks for the low-down on this second release from Ardnamurchan. I tried the first release from late last year and was very impressed at the early complexity developing in this whisky. Sounds like the second release is stronger on the herbal and green notes in the mid palate. As you say, this is going to be a fascinating malt at 10 years of age if these early „work-in-progress“ bottlings are anything to go by. And - Ardnamurchan is not milking us whisky fans with wildly inflated prices like some other first releases have recently done. Thumbs up, all round. Cheers.

When Wolfburn hit the shelf in New York last year it was very inexpensive. Granted it was barely 3 years old, but this sounds better than new-make and I may have a go if I ever see it. I did pass on Torabhaig for $65. The Wolfburn aurora is very nice and made me wish for a time machine.

Still haven't even touched Wolfburn. It hasn't peaked my interest, sadly. Torabhaig is pretty good! Was pleased with the sample I managed to get hold of. Ardnamurchan is delicious, highly recommend...if it becomes available.

@@WhiskyWednesday how are you finding the B.E. Coniston?
@WhiskyWednesday3 жыл бұрын
It's a dream. I was originally going to buy a Hamilton Field, but then stumbled upon the Marloe site. If you pardon the pun, I love a watch with no complications. Simple, easy to set, I love the hand wind feature, the strap wore in very quickly. Perfect watch.

I tried a sample of this and loved it. I'm trying to find it at auction for a decent price. I think you could find it for £45 originally.
@WhiskyWednesday3 жыл бұрын
The first release was around for £50, I think. Either way, there are alot of bottles of this on auction for that, before fees. Worth a punt!
