Great first taste, Bill. You probably know, but Roy is visiting this distillery in his live tomorrow. I love the transparency!!!

I didn't know that actually. Pretty cool, I'll have to tune in so I can learn from the horses mouth

When you pulled it out of the box the first thing that popped to mind was how the bottle looks like a bottle of Green Spot (which i just managed to get ahold of and that stuff is great, thanks for the review on that one)

This one definitely caught my eye at the store. I have to check the date code and QR code on it. It was priced at $58 but the HP12 was $53. This is where I wish I had a pal to split bottles with. At a close price my gut would tell me to get the HP12 as it is what you know. Gonna look now for the follow up review.

Ardnamurchan: mix of 60+ barrels. Highland Park: one barrel, basically same result 😁😁 Recently picked up my first Kavalan Concertmeister and was blown away how full of flavor it is even at 40% ABV. And smoothness does not feel like watery at all. I can't even imagine how good Solist line must be. Went straight to the top of my favorite distilleries.

There's nothing quite like a Scotch tasting at 7 in the morning...

That’s funny….. sometimes I start the day with a small swig or two just for the taste. 😎

I've been known to do that... not often, but not never either :)

Great video. In summary: "Let me have another sip"! 😁😁😁 "burnt paper" taste has me running to my nearest liquor store. Sarcasm aside - I enjoyed being introduced to this whisky. Thank you.

Looking forward to your formal review of this one - I've been considering picking a bottle up, as a stablemate to my other "new distillery" bottle, Torabhaig.

I picked up the 01.21:01 and would be interested to know know how it compares to the batch you had. I didn’t get any burnt paper but did get a hint of peat. I enjoyed it so much I grabbed a second bottle. I would also say it is a good one to try for someone that thinks they don’t like peat but wishes they did.

Glad you found this one, it's their first US release so you're reviewing this one pretty early. :-) I was excited for this one and picked up a bottle as soon as I could, and it didn't disappoint. Looking forward to watching them progress over the years as they mix in some older stock once they have some. Cheers!

Like or Dislike: Like. I appreciate this stream-of-consciousness style review.

Interesting review and nice comparable like burnt paper, minty and let me have another sip and off course I will grow on it.

New distillery, definitely not a new company though. It's the same people as Adelphi, amongst the elite of independent spirits bottlers, so they know exactly how to present their product.

It’s $62 where I am so I put it in the “to buy” list, but will wait to hear your formal review before deciding. 😎. How would this compare to a JW Black in taste or a JW Green in taste?
