I think there is a very simple question to be answered here. When the orange order returned to walk past Ardoyne no one except a token few Catholics were allowed onto the Crumlin Road to protest. When the GARC counter protest walked the Crumlin Road the Protestants were not prevented from going onto the Crumlin and allowed within yards of the Catholics and all the while the riot police faced the Ardoyne protesters.

This is an oddly one-sided report for someone attempting to be a journalist? Funnily enough this Irish fella can be seen shouting abuse at police in another video when they ask him to move out of the way for his safety.

Hearing them talk about how these parades cause people to be arrested is hilarious. There's a solution. Protest peacefully. On the 12th July one side of the community walked through Ardoyne at 3.55 and then left, whilst one side of the community committed attempted murder. But let's not let the facts get in the way.

00:20 - OO abide by Parades Commission decision. 00:58 - So OO have made concessions, and reduced the size of the march from "thousands" to less than 50 people 01:21 - How does he know that protestants don't use that road on the other 364 days of the year? 01:32 - Don't recall there ever being trouble for the outgoing parade in the morning, so why in the evening? These offended residents still in their bed? 01:39 - They don't march through Ardoyne...they march past a very small section of it.

@AllyCatmeow
@AllyCatmeow 10 жыл бұрын
If it's just a group of shops why bother marching past it? They should just stop either side marching into each others communities. Or if the Loyalists really want to march into Irish areas then they should ban any loyalist from drinking alcohol. Most of the time the supporters look to be violent drunks. On the 12th of July and the week leading up to it all alcohol should be banned and anyone who tests positive or selling it should be place under house arrest for any other marches.

@@AllyCatmeow Well they aren't marching to the shops 😂, as you can see the crowd and the flags across from the shops are the opposite to the protesters. They march past an entrance to that area and continue on to a larger parade, twit. Oh fock off, are you going to ban the republican "protestors" who weren't about according to their own speaker for the morning parade, no, too lazy or busy scratching their arse in bed to be offended for that part of the day 7/8 am. So they wake up and then arrive down from their area to go to the main road in the afternoon all to be deliberately offended. Can't control their emotions you'll get arrested then....

So is that the infamous ardoyne shops I just watch a video of the and it looked theres less than 5 fucking shops and it looks like it would take less than 5 min to walk past now the fact that this video is 100% one sided so for some one like who like me has not got a clue about ardoyne if its pure catholic area or mixed so i think it would be better if there was a video shown from both sides that would be much better .

Its spelt Republican, not republian. Since when do you see a Republican band, backed by the State, march through or even near a Unionist area? Where and when are thousands of Protestants hemmed in by thousands of Police in Belfast? If a Republican band played in front of a Protestant church, the nearest Nationalist area would be attacked en masse by the UDA, like the Short Strand was last year. Very few of whom have been areested since.

A. The march passes by the Ardoyne shops in all of 2 minutes. B. It is a silent march (no music is played). C. This particular return march has been occuring for well over 100 years. D. Across from the Ardoyne shops is the beginning of loyalist housing, it's a shared community, i could see through it if it was a wholey Catholic area. The Easter Rising parade can pass by Belfast city hall with men dressed in IRA regalia holding replica M16 rifles. THAT is intimidation, not this.

Why are these film makers allowed to get away with these lies. That area is not a nationalist area it is the edge of a nationalist area where residence have to go out of their way to be insulted. Those shops are used by both catholics and protestants. The lodge and band that walk past are from Ardoyne a couple of yards up the road from the shops. Opposite the shops is a protestant area. One guy says the rioting last a few days, as if it is the fault of the orangemen, but the orangemen just walk past and then go home ALL the rioters are nationalists, mostly bussed is. The residents are not 'hemmed' in, as there are lots of ways out of that area.
@sudocreme5080

Some of what you say may be true, but the parade is at the edge of a Nationalist area which is provocative and aggravating considering there is alternate routes which aren't provocative. A republican parade wouldn't be allowed in side a 5 mile radius of a Protestant area, never mind go right past it or the fact this happens year after year.

6 out of 9 counties of the province of Uladh are occupied by britain, lets not forget Dún Na Ngall, An Cabhán and Muineachán that are part of Eíre. Uladh is not British, Ulster is Irish, just like Mumha, Laighin and Connacht. Just like India and parts of Africa aren't British - just because your thieving forefathers came here and gave birth to you invaders doesn't make this country yours - the 4 provinces and the 32 counties have, and always will be Irish.

The Catholic people are welcome to come down and enjoy the festivities of the day just like Protestants at St Patricks day and alot of Catholics do. This year in particular we had a lot of people from the south who totally loved the day to get back to there hotel to witness this on the tv. These people arent representitive of the Catholic community time to start giving out stiffer penalties for rioters its 2012.

Thought the orange orders had a semi religous heritage as well as just a political one, and one of Gods commandments is Love thy neighbour as thyself which they seem to put behind "contending for the faith". Its not a mark of defeat to respect your neighbours feelings on the contrary its a mark of common respect for humanity (whether you believe that humanity was created or just evolved)

I do have a clue - I live in Glasgow and have to put up with the same inconvenience every year - if you want to carry on celebrating some battle that has fuck all to do with the 21st C and means nothing to 99.9% of the UK, then why not do it where it cannot cause offense? Try the countryside, theres plenty of empty fields you could walk around where nobody is inconvenienced! Either that, or catch up with all right-thinking folk and drop the nonsense once and for all, and this goes for everyone!

sorry to piss on your bubble but... opinion polls show that about half of catholics, and almost all protestants, do not favour "32". and the republic of ireland doesnt want "32" either, because their economy is a mess. the only people who want "32" is england, because we cost them a fortune. at the moment, 32 is not a good idea because the ROI couldnt possibly afford us, and england gives us money. you need to think of factors like this, instead of just saying "32" because it sounds cool.

that was a band not orange men, but as a loyalist i agree with u, it was a total disgrace to do that, although i wonder do u have the same opinion, when orange halls are burnt out every other week, or the republican parade that happened a few weeks after the loyalist band, when it played music outside a church, respect has to work both ways, and another thing, only in NI would a band playing music outside a chapel make headline news over a gun attack on police, fucked up place we all live in
