This LC (though I believe from an older video I recall watching while it had halogen lights it was an ungated level crossing with a regular sounding & loud yodalarm audible warning system) is now in the same vein as Wheelwright Lane LC in Nuneaton where despite being a full barriered LC the audible alarms continue to sound after all the barriers have closed. Pretty rare for a UK crossing to do that. And I think there's one in Wales that does the same.

Gilfach Ddu level crossing is the one in Wales that has a continuous alarm despite being full barriered

Great video. Nice that it's a AFBCL as well making scotland have 3 now

Very interesting sequence here - I didn’t expect the alarms to stay on when all 4 barriers are down! 👍😃

Glad to see more innovation and progress in the railway network. This is an oddity waiting to become the norm. Nice video, I was not expecting the alarms to continue, but I guess that's a precautionary measure or a fail safe seeing as it's a new crossing with a new system

I actually had a feeling that the alarms would stay on.

Nice! I actually had a feeling that the alarms would stay on, as It's an automatic L/C. Idk why the installed E2S alarms here though, as it's a single track crossing, so there will be no double stays.

Wow I’ve never seen anything like it. 😮😮

Wow, so basically this is just an MCB Crossing but with the alarms continuing cool, also I wonder if this crossing would have a double stay mode
@GlensTransport6 жыл бұрын
No, it operates like an ABCL, but with obstacle detection and an extra set of barriers.
@UKLCSandT6 жыл бұрын
Glen's Transport yeah i know it acts like that but it's similar to an MCB in every way exept for the alarms staying on and the crossings signals
@GlensTransport6 жыл бұрын
@@UKLCSandT From a road user point of view it's the same as an MCB (but with much shorter waits). From the railway point of view it works the same as an ABCL.

At wheelwright lane the alarms stayed on when the barriers were down.

Nice video! Here in America, all quad-gate (full barrier) crossings are completely automatic, so I'm surprised this wasn't tried out over there sooner.

Little fact. They used AFBCLs a lot sooner in Ireland then UK
@0ne-6right40 Жыл бұрын
Yes there are a lot more in Ireland, but the only difference is over there the alarms don’t continue to sound for the entire activation, unlike this one.

Wow interesting crossing, weird the alarms stay on, is it supposed to be like that?
@GlensTransport6 жыл бұрын
It's currently the only one of this type, so it remains to be seen if the new ones in Dingwall will be exactly the same.

Are the alarms supposed to stay on tho?
@Nathan_A_RF6 жыл бұрын
We don't know because this crossing is the only one in existence yet

Okay

Yeah the alarms are deliberately programmed to continue.
