As someone studying electrical engineering and a Guitarist, I just found your channel and it is fantastic!

Hello!!! In September last year I discovered the ADS115 module, it was what I needed to make a uC transistor tester . I had made one with an lcd voltmeter, but it needed some math as it was not micro controlled. I made mine with switches to switch between npn and pnp and also to switch between germanium transistors and jfets (exemple: phase 90). Seeing your project now made me want to modify mine, it uses a 16x2 display with an i2c module. The operation of your tester is much more practical and fast. Congratulations!

I can't find a pdf of the schematic? I can use the video to work it out if you didn't provide one.

I wonder if you could also get this to not care about the emitter, base, can collector order and to actual find that order and print it to the screen too. I am not sure if applying 5V across all of the pin pair is safe for the device to find out the order, but it seems reasonable.

Those device testers are using an atmega328p, like in an Arduino. I know the source code is around somewhere, but I never bothered to really hunt it down. It does something to determine the pins, no matter the order. You might need that from time to time. Especially when dealing with some Russian germanium transistors

How important is the 1.2m resistor value? Can I use a 1m and set it in the code?
@DavidMsg2 жыл бұрын
OK, did a series of 1m & 220k, got it close enough at 1.223m I reckon.

Working great, but I think my ads1115 has a fake ic. On a good 2n3904 getting leakages of 6-20ua. Unused.pins are referenced to ground, but some still show voltages of the pins next to them... Should still be usable, but in case anyone is getting leakages on si npn trans, this could be why.

Unless the floating collectorpin when testing npn is causing some false leakages too.

This is great! Only germanium?? Thank you!

Well, it will do NPN silicon as well.

There is always someone who dislikes our videos within 24 hours of releasing the videos. I suspect a bot.
