After connecting -Arduino and laptop- 'using USB', Go to Device Manager > tap on Ports>> if Arduino is visible then right click on it > choose properties> port settings>advanced> Choose COM Port number in the bottom.

I have Elegoo Mega 2560 R3. Windows sees it as USB serial device (com 3). I got the latest version of IDE 2.2.1 and it will not detect the board. It says unknown and it is not listed in the board list. Should I go back to an earlier version of IDE? Thanks for the video.
