In this video I show you how to understand the concept of arduino functions. Today, I show how to pass parameters from the main loop and the function using local variables. Also, I show how to return values from the function to the main loop. I also show how to pass variables by either value or reference. Enjoy!

Thanks! Another great class! Many moons ago when I was taking programming classes in college the question of returns vs reference would rive my OCD through the roof! If I knew a program was going to have some complex functions that needed to be done by reference because they had multiple results, I'd end up doing everything that way just for the sake of consistency. Just giving a return value always seemed easier to keep track of though.
