Curiosity got the better of me from watching this vidjayo and I ordered a couple of ratchets from Nepros. What a cool company. I got a very polite and courteous from Noriko Tani confirming the receipt of my order. It also included 'sincere apologies if our delivery takes more time than your expectation' .... due to... 'After the movies produced by famous KZbin released on his channel, we have been receiving a lot of orders beyond our past experiences since last month, and our shipments need some more time than usual now.'

I actually inherited a ton of old school Snap On tools, Canadian and USA. Also inherited a Snap On tool chest that's about as old. All my Grandfather's from when he was a Buick technician and when he started working from home. Also a some Proto and other high end stuff. Still works amazing, they just don't make tools the same anymore. Glad to be a third generation mechanic and still using the same tools 3 generations later.

Jezus, The Kyoto Tools Company website is like a 30 minute worm hole. Navigated it with the help of google translate. The lacquer painted ratchets are absolutely gorgeous, and there is a walnut tool chest that I would happily use as coffee table or a night stand, but the $4,000 price tag is pretty staggering. If we ever get out the other side of this virus deal and you get back across the pond the website looks like they offer factory tours, that would be a great video.

I lost an hour of my life trying to learn to read Japanese on the KTC site as well... But if anyone is really interested in buying Nepros tools they actually have no-nonsense site in English, with US dollar prices (they're on the steeper side, certainly, but nothing really outregous) and very reasonable shipping costs.

Hows the quality? I bought some starett rulers and squares but the finish levels just seems poor for something made in the US of A, sadly. Both the ruler and the squares have such sharp edges that I can barely use them without gloves. The country of origin is "subject to change" so maybe that's the reason.

A Johnson Bar (also J-bar) is a tapered, 6' - 8' piece of stout oak carcass fitted, at the wide end, with a hard forged steel wedge and a pair of solid steel wheels. The steel and the oak are made together with vigor. Used (in conjunction with a 200lb gorrilla) for getting a pick when shifting pallets and machinery.

I used to work for a marine hardware manufacturing operation in Wisconsin. For whatever reason, the goods we exported to Japan were not controlled by the merchantilistic Japanese. With every crate of our goods exported to Japan from the US, thousands of dollars worth on Snap On tools were slipped in. Apparently American made hand tools had very high duties and import restrictions. They Japanese love themselves some high quality American made tools.

Beautiful though they are ( the set of 4 curved box end wrenches ), My OLD Snap-on set is JUST as shiny ( although scuffed and scratched after 50 years of use ) without needing to cut the word 'shiny' into the tool itself. .....AND I find, from the look you gave us at least, that the wall thickness is chunky and clumsy-looking to my eye. Clearly I am a Snatch-On product of many years but Truth told, they HAD a fantastic warranty and the truck turned up at the garage EVERY WEEK to sell us more and HAPPILY replace what we'd managed to break. In fact, the truck salesman also told us the way we could 'break' some tools the 'correct' way so we could more easily get a replacement. Cheers my friend from North Ontario....snow gone now!!

you are right about cheap sockets, so yesterday there I am 40 feet in the manbasket getting a scraper blade off a head pulley on a rock belt conveyor. harness and all, trying to get the nut loose but not to come off. my cheap craftsman 3/4 inch deep socket was too deep! I pull the trigger and the nut comes off! now is too deep so the treads dont grab! i need to stop and get in the basket get the nut out of the socket and use my fingers to start the tread! im getting a set of good sockets in the near future. you are right about this too!

Quite nice. It’s amazing that some tool companies don’t name themselves Twisted Knuckle Buster Tool Company with some tools on the market today. These, though, very very nice! Very stylish Anniversary knife. Thanks for sharing!

After your last Nepros vid, that 3/8 micro ratchet was what I earmarked for my box. it's perfect! No other toolmaker has something like that.
