I dont Think so because nitro fule is Premixd and Petrol you need to Mix and the Loudnes of thes cars is so bad that you cant realy run them any were and dont get yelld at 😂👍
@rcmtb10523 жыл бұрын
I agree petrol or gas is easy compare to nitro. On nitro you need glow igniter, you need to tune defend on the temperature. And after you run you need clean the engine and fuel!tank.
@N1ghtmare20143 жыл бұрын
They are alot easier to maintain than a nitro, and nitros you constantly need to retune the carbies, its easier to mix a 25:1 ratio, 40ml of 2 stroke oil to 1L of petrol, my nitro buggy which I have a HPI trophy 3.5, and a HSP camper both are a Pain in the A** at the best of times, the petrol ones you can run for about 45-50 minutes on 1 tank of juice, nitros you get about 10 minutes of runtime, then there's the worry of engine temperature as well, they need to be specific for nitro the 2 strokes is mix and have fun with it, and to clean is simple enough, nitro you have to clean every detail, don't get me wrong I still have a blast with my nitros but the only down fall the the 2 stroke is they sounds like a 125cc MX dirtbike, and not exactly practical for dense neighbourhood areas, they more require a open field to have some good fun in. Nitro just doesn't tick the neighbourhood off as much. As they sound more like a fly.
@jezzathecezza80373 жыл бұрын
I personally think that they would scare some people out of the hobby as the petrol ones are extremely loud and that means you will have to go somewhere quite which means they will not use it much and they might then go off the hobby but that is my opinion

I agree with this vid. I’ve been using nitros for 17 years and I just got into the 1/5 scale hobby 3 years ago. I like both. But The 1/5 is fairly maintenance free and very easy to maintain. If you have the space to store the 1/5 scale and don’t mind the loud noise, I’d recommend it for a beginner

Couple of things about the 1/5 scale 2-stroke buggies.. you don't need to use the choke. Prime it first and the gently/slowly pull the starter cord and let the fuel mix into the cylinder. 3 gentle pulls and it will start after that by the first or second proper pull. Secondly, these buggies don't have reverse and have a poor turning circle so you will need a large open area to allow you to have some proper fun.

Hey, just want to say so glad you started posting videos again use to watch all your older videos have all really helped me with my hobby with nitro cars too. Love the baja 5B can remember the first day that came out what a machine. But I can beat that 7 months and starting the baja I own a Schumacher havoc monster truck with a big block .28 engine and I’ve had it sat in my room for nearly 2 years and started the hobby again in the first lockdown and it started fine with only 3 revolutions on the drill start. But that could just be my nitro engine they can be fiddly but this is one of the best nitro engines I’ve ever owned ever time you come to it not matter how long it’s been sat for it always fires with very little effort.

1/5 do require a lot of checkin and maintenance. All the gaskets will end up needing to be replaced, correct fuel mixture and correct tuning. Usually 1/5 are okay if the engines are kept well maintained :) Usually you can get a better start by turning the engine over 3 times and leave the piston at the top nearest the sparkplug so the first pull you do, your suckin in the fuel.

Very informative and nice content mate. Kudos to your brief but beefy explanation. I've been an avid watcher of your videos about RCs especially nitro. But in my case, I also had petrol bajas in the past, for me if a nitro engine is well looked after, 2-3 pulls it fires up easily, even been sitting for months. I have a 3.0 losi truggy with a.21 B7 nitro engine, and tell you what, I never bashed with it for 2 years straight because I mostly played with my SS truggy with a bonito engine on it. And yeah, after 2 years I decided to fire it up to see how it'll behave right from the tuning, servo settings etc. It fired up less than a minute pushed in the starter box, without changing even the glow plug, and the tuning remained as what I left it on. And I mentioned well looked after, I remember I put like massive amounts of after run oil in it, before shelving it. I think it all depends on what brands of nitro engines you have. More reliable brands, the better expectations.

I'll get my nitro 3.5 buggy soon. I sold all my electric cars due to it's boring. Go back to old school nitro again. You know what I'm talking about...smell of fuel, engine sound....Oh boy!

my thoughts ? don't get 1/5 scale ! don't get 1/8 scale ! get 1/10 scale nitro touring car or buggy ! 1/0 scale nitro engines today are cheap $60 new plus can run with methanol "ZERO" nitro 0% with oil mix that only cost $39 for a 5 gallon can, plus bodys are available like mustang fire-bird and many more real life cars ! ,drawback of 1/5 scale gas is cheap but parts bust easily ,drawback of 1/8 scale good quality but suck up nitro fuel costing tons of $$$$

Gas the damn spark plug cost 5 bucks amd last forever. Nitro a damn glow plug is 10 plus dollars and dont last nesrly as long. Plus 40$ a gallon fuel vs less than 4 bucks. Im getting a 1/5 scale.

@@TheRCBiker I would never compare a petrol powered rc car with a glow engine powered rc car. 2 different things.
