I'ts really nice to see an unpaid review of Arteza! I feel like they have sent free products to almost everyone, so it has been almost impossible to find a review that isn't bought.
@peaceandpaintbrushes5 жыл бұрын
I agree! Although i like that companies will send ppl free things to try and do affiliate links, I think in some ways that makes a lot of people not say what they really feel about products. And some companies have contracts that say you can’t say negative things about their company. I’m not a fan of that at all.
@graybryan95215 жыл бұрын
I agree with your review. The way I look at it they are good for the price. The metal palette is almost worth the entire purchase price. Also with 36 paints you get more mixes but if you were to pick out the 12 most transparent primary colors and only use them, it would still be a good deal. But yes, they are a little chalky and opaque. The tubes aren't worth keeping (unless you are a kid), the pans are fine to mess around with or as a backup. When you search around there are better choices though. White Nights is a better alternative and if you keep your palette limited and mix your colors, M. Grahams is pretty affordable.

Yes I agree! Thanks for watching!!

That’s what I did, they are having a sale for the 36 pan set and it wasn’t much more than the empty palette so I ended up getting it.

@@peaceandpaintbrushes they are student paints that should be judged as student paints of course they aren’t as good as artist paint that’s why they’re student paints. Compared to other student paints these are really good watercolors. If they were labeled as artist grade then I could see why you are so negative about them in your review, but they aren’t.
@peaceandpaintbrushes3 жыл бұрын
@@chrisistired6083 im sorry you took this as negative, however it was just my honest review. And althroughoutvthe video i did compare them to other student grade paints. And the piont of review for student grade paints is to see how close they are to artist grade paint which is why reviewers compare them. Also, I did say that they are good for the price, told arteza they improved, and overall like these paints. People who want to get into watercolor tend to start off in with student grade paints, and if thos paint dont mix well or act so different it can be a hard transition to artist grade paints that have lightfast ratings and ligment information so that you can sell originals. Anyway, i just want tk say i wasnt tryinv to be negative in anyway, just being honest. I stick by my review.

They are student paint so yeah that’s what they are for they aren’t artist paints like what she’s comparing to
@peaceandpaintbrushes3 жыл бұрын
@@idkman6360 im comparing to artist grade somewhat because many watercolor artist start off with student grade paints and then move up to artist grade. But i only do so for those wanting to be traditional watercolorists. I play with many paints like this in my journal and just doodling all the time. I see no problem with it. But for professional artists who sell their work, these would not be great. I hope you realize that many reviewers in general compare all student grade paints to other student grade paints and artists grade paints because we want to spend our money on paints that are cheapest but closest to artist quality.

Hey there, I am an artist and now I'm studying architecture, I have been using Lefranc & Burgeouis and Sakura Koi, because of their cheap price, would you like to recommend me ones that have wide range of colors and worth the price? Thankyou very much

I like the mission gold set where you get 36 colors and the pallet to go with it. They aren’t student grade but for

Yea Van Gogh is waaay better! And you get the pigment and LF info.

It could be a filming problem but I don't see "chalkiness" in those paints. I do, however, see opaqueness in them. This can happen even with my very expensive artist brands depending on either or both the pigment load and grind of the paint. For instance, I have to struggle glazing with most artist brands except Sennelier due to its finer grind and this applys whether watercolor, oil or acrylic. I would venture to say that the problem you're seeing is not from chalk fillers but from a very coarse grind which makes sense for an inexpensive brand. At any rate, my monitor does not show the tell tale milky film of chalky paints.
@ThingOfSome5 жыл бұрын
Right, they do not seem to be chalky, but rather, opaque. That can also be due to the filler in the paints, not just how finely the pigments are ground. Though, opacity is not a general property that determines quality, as some pigments are just opaque.
@peaceandpaintbrushes5 жыл бұрын
When I say chalky I mean chalky due to fillers. And these aren’t the most chalky inexpensive paints I have ever tried but they are chalky to me in mass tone glazes. My artist quality paint from varying brands does not do this at all unless they are opaque and even then they aren’t chalky. However like I said these are good paints for the price!
@peaceandpaintbrushes5 жыл бұрын
When it comes to Watercolors, most are transparent. When the entire set gives off that “opaque” as you say film, it’s usually fillers and can become a problem when glazing or when you want a juicy pigment pay off.

TheHomegrownArtist would you recommend these to a beginner like me? I’m looking for okay-quality cheap paints, not necessarily professional grade.
@MoonSpinners4 жыл бұрын
Team Leo! ...I'd go for Van Gogh, Winsor and Newton Cotman, or Daler Rowney Aquafine for affordable student quality paints, but if you want to up grade to more professional paint thats still affordable, i like White Nights. 🤗

What didn't you like about the Arteza tube watercolors?
@peaceandpaintbrushes4 жыл бұрын
They dried really chalky and cracked, they were super hard to rewet, and were not very pigmented. However I will say that was over a year ago. They may have made some changes.

She’s so negative I’ve tried these they are really good for student grade paints she keeps comparing them to artist quality paint which is unfair the only thing that she said that was an actual fair review was the types of color included she really shouldn’t be reviewing student paints and saying they aren’t as good as artist Quality paint
