Are Asics Skate Shoes Any Good? | You Tell Me

Sorry guys, I was having camera issues but dont have time to re-shoot this video. I may be a little blurry but the kicks are very clear. The thumbnail I got off the Premier website so if you're looking for some Asics skate shoes try there.

Asics coming into the skateboarding ring is getting interesting so far. Great team, great-looking shoes, first video on Thrasher, etc. It also helps that Kaspar Van Lierop from Nike is managing(?) the team. So, Asics is def a company to keep an eye on. I really want the Gel-Vickkas Pros, but the Japan Pros seem to be better for my wide feet. I do wish the insoles were removable, though. I've also heard that the regular non-skate Japan Pros are just as good.

I’m 44 years old and I skated 4 hours last Saturday in these! The gel does its job, while the shoe is still slim enough for board feel. I got the impact protection with the feel of a Vulc. I went ahead and ordered the off white pair for a backup. Best skate shoe out in my opinion. Flick is nice for flipping the board.

All of them really look good. I don't think you can go wrong no matter which one you choose, although the Japan ones are catching my eye. I have no idea I've only just veered away from Nike, with some pumas. I'll definitely give asics a go. Nice I like em, love me some suade a gum sole would be perfection. Always good to hear the first ones being snug thin foot friendly.

yeah the vickka is the way to go with a narrow foot if you're looking to try an asics.

things are starting to show up now. Crenshaw is around the corner. there are a few GRs coming in soon too. it's definitely been a drought for a bit. we're still crushing it with hard goods, Adidas and new balance for sure so it hasn't really hit the shop too hard considering most shops get pretty small allocations of dunks ya know

I like the cupsole/vulc hybrid. My problem with vulcs is that the foxtape always splits and they fall apart, but I like a thinner looking/feeling shoe so I really back a cupsole in the shape of a vulc.

Have you seen the air max ishod? It’s a cup vulc hybrid as well. The Leo is also

@@DavidBluetile What I mean by that specifically is a true cupsole but a little thinner, no raised heel compared to the toe and still being stitched onto the shoe. I think there needs to be more shoes like this. EG a vans shoe but the foxtape/outsole is just one piece and stitched, then you get the best of both worlds. I dont think vulc construction should exist when you can get the same/similar feeling with a more durable one piece outsole

no they just run a little wider. New Balance is starting to introduce some shoes that will come in two sizes next year. Spring 24 will see a few styles come in "wide" but not like a scale of widths just regular and wide.
