Hi, about how many shrimps do each axolotl eat daily? And how long do they last in the tank? Thanks

We usually put around 60 shrimps and by the next day they were all gone. The amount they'll eat depend on your axolotls skill to hunt. We used to give them 60 shrimps a week but it's not a staple diet it's only a treat (Gary and Migi are spoiled rotten)

Where do you buy your ghost shrimp? Ive heard you need to quarantine them for 30 days before feeding, is there any way to avoid this like buying from a ghost shrimp breeder instead of a pet store? Thank you @Gary the axolotl

Hey i have a question. i have 2 Axolotls one is Gold Albino and one normal Albino, Gold named Bubbles and the normal finja. thy are now 1 year old and i train them now to go on my hand but how do i train them that they can differentiate my fingers and her food do they learn this by the time or do i have to train them to this? i would be so happy for an answer :D

From an axolotl point of view, anything can be nom nom haha even a rock that's not even moving so it's really hard to "train" them not to nom your fingers. It only depends on your axolotl. Gary doesn't nom my fingers or rarely but Migi will 100% no doubt. Gary was always use to me so he does it way less but Migi is a recue so he didn't had the safe environment Gary had, it's the only difference I see. So maybe if you had them at a young age and if they get use to you and grow up with you around they'll nip a it less but again it depends on each axolotl. I'm not sure it helped but here is my answer :D

Haha! I wouldn’t call my axolotl a hunter. He’s more like a ambush/opportunistic type . He wouldn’t cut it if he was in a lake or a stream but we love him 😂

There can be multiple reasons for that. What are your parameters? Is your tank cycled? How old is your axolotl? To have a proper conversation I'd suggest you to join our discord channel where plenty of other axolotl owners and myself can help you :) I'll still try to answer here if I can :D

Not really pet because they have a fragile slime coat. You can gently boop and not often but that's it. Make sure your hands are clean because the oil and bacteria on human skin is harmful to them. I hope it helps
