Bisexual men are not gay! For most of my life i have been bisexual and loved it. I genuinely get turned on and want to be with women but I also do with men. It's such a beautiful thing and has even helped me put love and positivity out into the world and society.

He proved a point to me about being called gay, because I didn't like that because I like both genders, but I guess I am gay but only part gay LOL.

Delightful video. I just found this channel. I'm pretty new to my acceptance of being bi; I had called myself a lesbian before. I don't really care about people calling me gay, but bi erasure still gets to me. I've had a lot of girlfriends and I'm dating a woman right now, but other than that, I've only dated a trans masc non-binary person. It's the last part of my identity that really gets to me as a trans woman.

As someone who recently accepted my bisexuality and came out to my wife, I think that most people who call a bisexual person gay do so because well, the biggest difference is obviously that a bisexual man likes both men and women, while gay men are only into men and not women. For most people the only distinction between bi and gay men thus becomes that gay men dont like girls, which to most people is not something worth making a distinction of, a technicality of sorts. I know this because my entire childhood I was straight but of course exposed to education about LBTQ, and to me this was the mindset. I knew the distinction, but I just didnt care at the time. However, there is a lot of situations where this distinction is CRUCIAL. If you are a girl, a bisexual man is just as likely to fall in love with you as a straight man, but a gay man will never fall in love with you. I personally get offended when people who know my sexuality call me gay, only for the simple reason that I am happily married to a woman, and them accusing me of being gay would insinuate an accusation that I don't love my wife. Had I been single, I would rarely give a shit if someone called me gay instead of bisexual, unless that someone is a woman I were on a date with, because like, Why would I as a man date a woman if I were gay?

Exactly correct. There's a lot of diversity amongst gay people. There are many gay people who also do things that are stereotypically not gay, like dating women, but it's not a zero-sum point system - a gay guy who's into sports cars, beer, footie, and being a public nuisance is still gay despite also being part of an aggressively heterosexual culture.

Great vid 🙏🏾 glad someone talks about this topic, especially in men bisexuality is pretty much... non-existing or at least not talked about enough. I'm bi and back in middle school when people asked me :Are you gay? I replied with: No. Looking back on the question :Are you gay? I wonder what these people would do with this information. Did it change their whole world? Are they enlightened now? Did you get a dopamine boost?? Etc... Basically what I try to say, to this day I have no idea why people ask this question like it would change the whole system 😂

Thank you. I've struggled with this all my life and it's why I have only come out after 64 years. My wife of 36 years knows and she loves me. What really bothers me is that it isn't all about sex: I love people. I don't want to have sex without loving people. So guys who just want to fuck women think I'm gay because I want to make love. I don't want to fuck guys either but making love with guys hasn't worked for me so well, though I've had a few good experiences. I really want some male bonding with my sex. With women we could call it Heterosexual bonding, and that's worked even when platonic, With guys the sex and love don't seem to connect. Not gay and don't fit with gay stereotypes.

I think so! Bisexual people are gay but not in the exclusive way like homosexuals in their sexual attraction! But bisexuality is gay in its inclusivity! But that is my personal opinion!

Yes, just not exclusively. If you're into the same sex, you're gay; it doesn't require also not being into the opposite sex. It's like how all crabs are crustaceans but not all crustaceans are crabs.

Discrimination of all kinds should be condemned. However, the bisexuals aren't blameless either. I met so many bisexuals with internalised homophobia, who have strong attachment to «straight» - because they assume being queer has low status. That's why I never understand «bi» people who always complain being discriminated by queer communities whilst often want to fit in with heterosexual norms and look down on gay, lesbian, trans and queer persons. Most bi men almost always attach to & identify themselves with hetero norm, but distance from queers, somehow want to use us as sidedish whenever feeling horny. Few of them have a desire to be seen with same sex person - leave alone have a stable relationship/marriage. Respect is two-way Street. You admitted that you hated being referred as gay - subtle way of saying being labeled as bi has higher status than gay.

I don't see it that way. Personally, I just feel at home in the mainstream society, and can't relate to gays who are part of the gay subculture. I'm bi, and I can relate best to mainstream bi and gay people.

I've talked to a couple of bi men who insist that they are gay because "it's an umbrella term for everyone". I asked one of them if gay men could call themselves homosexuals to differentiate themselves from bi men, and he said no, that is an umbrella term too. So I'm thinking, if gay men began to refer to themselves as wombats, it would take about two minutes until someone came over and said stop gatekeeping who can be a wombat.
@yurisei6732
@yurisei6732 Ай бұрын
Partially true, but gay and homosexual have multiple meanings due to their use as broader cultural terms for men who exhibit feminine traits, and wombat presumably wouldn't.
@osmaelias
@osmaelias 5 күн бұрын
@@yurisei6732 Feminine traits? No, that is not what homosexual refers to at all. Femininity is _associated_ with male homosexuality but the word itself means attracted to the same sex. The same with gay. We use it to differentiate ourselves from men who are straight or bi. The reason why it became the name of the gay liberation movevement is that gay men were the most typical targets of homophobic oppression, or at least the most typical recipients of the most egrecious forms of abuse. And if wombat was to become a popular term for gay men, it would go down the same route as the word gay regardless of what it meant before. Gay also used to mean something else, and while these old meanings can still become activated in certain contexts, like old song lyrics or poetry, the most widely accepted one is male homosexual.

I am a gay man. I rather be with a bisexual man, because if a bisexual man can choose a women/biological children, less unwanted talking from the siciaty, and he chooses me, with all my traumas, bad mental health, autism, than I know that he wants me. I don't have the same security with gays.
