If we can’t run we can’t do anything . Bo being our rushing leader is sad. Second of all we gotta hit receivers when they are open , and when we do get them the ball they need to fkn catch it !

I agree your running back shouldn’t be out rushed by your qb. I think we need to change who we have in the game personnel wise. We need to change the who rb1 is I love Javonte but he is not as elusive and explosive as used to be pre injury but we need a guy who can get you 4-5 yards a rush at most and 3 yards at the least. Javonte just can’t do that anymore. Some players just don’t gain back their strength In their knees after an ACL tear like he had.

First, Bo has to process quicker and learn how to read the defense. Then, he has to learn to establish his footing so he can make more accurate throws. Then, he has to learn not to telegraph his passes (the INT in the end zone for example). He's making it real easy for defense coordinators. Stidham and even Zack Wilson are light years ahead of Bo in experience. Bo should have sat, watched, then played maybe 6 games into the season instead of throwing him into deep water without first learning how to swim -- Payton's fault.
@WeSkatePN

We need to work in some more read options for Bo. Dude has wheels. Also he needs to use those legs when he has no one open !

He does we should also throw in more designed runs for him like a qb draw or like you said more read option but I think read options will be better when he is able to read the defense better, right now he may not make the right decision. But hey the only way to learn is to try and learn from your mistakes.

Let's not get carried away...he's no Lamar Jackson or Justin Fields. He can run for his life if he as to, but don't expect him to be a running QB on the level of Jackson, Fields, or Josh Allen. He's adequate at best. Seems to have been more of a pocket passer in Oregon.

I feel so much better watching this. Because Bo doesn't look lost or overwhelmed. He's certainly not a bust. If he can just improve on 4 or 5 throws, we're in businesses. What is concerning me is that our run game seems to really be struggling

He's a bust. He doesn't show any flashes of brilliance anywhere. All he can do in the long run is hope that he stays employed as a backup QB somewhere. That's no disrespect to Nix. 99% of QB's drafted to the NFL never have meaningful, long term careers. So, it's not a surprise that he will end up in that 99% statistic. There's a reason why QB in the NFL is regarded as the hardest position in all of sports to play. It's extremely rare that a QB has all the athleticism skills, mental acumen, leadership qualities, instincts, intangibles, etc to perennially take a team to the playoffs year in and year out. If you aren't seeing at least some flashes of greatness from day one that you can build on, it's probably never going to happen for that QB, and it's best to move on than to waste 2-3 years hoping that something is going to change.

It really feels like we are "off," but by JUST INCHES! Slightly over throwing/under throwing some passes, rec gets open but oline breaks down, oline holds up but rec drops a pass. Playcalling is smart and unique, other times it looks garbled. I feel we are gonna start putting things together, but it's taking a lot of time.

Name me a harder start for a rookie QB than a McDonald lead defense in an environment like Seattle, a Tomlin lead defense with the Steelers, than on the road vs Tampa, and the jets. Add on top of a team hamstrung by Wilson's contract, and an already lack luster offense around him. Just, going to have to call a spade a spade this season it's probably not going to be very good. Next season we see a huge jump in Denvers salary cap, and a high draft pick. Draft receiver, RB, hate to say this cause wattenberg is only 2 starts into his career. But, definitely center, and probably even more of the line itself is going to be replaced.

Thank you. I've been sharing these thoughts elsewhere and often hear, "He's a rookie, did you think we were going to win?" No, I didn’t expect that. But I did expect that a $20 million-a-year coach would prepare the players to be ready and develop a game plan to help our rookie QB grow. Honestly, every Broncos coach since 1983, when I started following them, looked better than Payton. He’s not a man of high character or integrity-he’s driven by ego, led "Bounty-gate," and sold the Waltons on his reputation.

The ROI on the $18M per year to the genius Payton is making Penner rethink the hiring. The problem is is that he probably doesn't know enough of the NFL to understand running empty sets almost every play is not a good thing. But, hey they have a really kick ass facility now. I'm starting to think that Drew Brees covered up alot of Payton's errors and what not.

On the red zone interception, Payton said one of the receivers didn’t run his route correctly, but it still shouldn’t be an excuse for Bo clearly trying to throw the ball to Sutton and not putting it high at the back of the end zone. If he did Sutton or no one catches it. Yes Tim, you are right, I don’t think anyone knows what we do well and it affects our overall performance.

They broke that interception down on the broadcast, needed the under route to be a little deeper to hold the defender lower. LB picked up the under and Corner just dropping back looking for work. But as Tim pointed out there was separation for the under route to drive a ball in.

Tim, your videos are pretty much the only thing keeping me hopeful that things will get better for my Broncos. I think you're right on the play calling. It was way too conservative early. SP said they were expecting it to be a low-scoring, field position, game. Feels like they played it way too safe. OK Bo's not been accurate on shot plays but at least by putting them in there, they force defenses to account for them and open up the passing lanes underneath and the run game.

You can't run the ball in the NFL without a vertical passing threat. Javonte Williams is facing a loaded box 2/3 of the time, & it's primarily b/c Nix can't read NFL defenses yet, which is also why Sean calls everything short.

Josh Reynolds is really solid. He might be the best WR we have currently. Mims is already non-existent again this szn for absolutely no reason other than “crowded room.” My biggest criticism of Payton is his handling of Mims. I don’t understand how you don’t make a concerted effort to get him more involved in the offense. A crowded room is only crowded if everyone in the room is worthy of being on the field and that’s simply not the case. There is no circumstance that Lil’Jordan should ever be on the football field when Mims could be running the same route. Or whoever. It’s just bizarre. He's fumbled some sure but at this point I’d take the chance on that for some playmaking spark. I really think Payton is an excellent coach and I do believe he will get everything sorted out even if it takes all season. I just feel like there has to be more to the Mims situation than “crowded room lul” when he used that same exact excuse for last szn and said he would do better with him this szn. Like …. ????

It would help a lot if Payton could get the plays out a lot faster so the kid has a second to peep the defense before he has to snap it. And it’s really the O line. They are horrendous at zone blocking. The other teams front 4 penetrate their gaps and the RB is getting touched before he reaches the line of scrimmage and then fights for 2-3 yards. If the run is getting shut down , forget about the play action working. The pass blocking isn’t much better either. It won’t matter who the Qb is or coach or skill position players until the left tackle, left guard, center and right tackle get replaced. They are completely useless. I want to be able to say good things about the O line but this is by far the worst starting O line in the NFL. Second worst isn’t even in site the best analogy I can think of is someone on the beaches of Long Island NY looking out at the ocean hoping to see England . 31st is that far away. I hope things get better but with this line, little to no chance.

The blocking was real bad. O line quality is down throughout the league, so it's not just our problem - but a LOT of plays got blown up by bad center play or an RT turnstile. Courtland phoned in these first 2 games. Jogging routes, not fighting for balls. His belief is gone and he's just a body out there. Bo doesn't and shouldn't trust him. Dulcich has bricks for hands. The run game is a joke. See o line play from earlier. Then Bo sails a few balls, takes some soft sacks, and misses a few reads. He's the only rookie in the above list - who's responsible for the way this team is playing?

It really is everything. Sean P has to step up.

It looks like bo nix is better and comfortable in the empty sets. I think Payton should change the offense identity to empty sets with the occasional rpo

Thank you for this video I needed some hope I think we need Javonte to pick up the pace and the receiver core to step up and we can be pretty good

I dont see any designed rollouts for Bo to hit wide receivers deep nor do I see any type of designed toss sweep runs for the running backs. Both of those were a staple for the Broncos offense for years with Elway and Davis. I get we have a rookie QB and questionable backs but why not design plays that cater to their strengths.

They ran a bunch of rollouts last week and not much worked. They tried sweeps both weeks. Of 50ish RBs in the league, McLaughlin and Williams have the longest avg time behind the LOS. Part of which is DLs in the backfired, the other part is lots of outside runs. Those plays only work when the run game is working.

Neither are horrible at all, Bo is a ROOKIE. What don't you media people understand about that? Denver will be better off than a lot of teams by next year, but it will be a year in the making. If anyone is to blame, it is lack on all other sides of the ball. The O line is a joke, even the cornerback situation, we have PS2, but during the Manning years we had both CHJ and AT, and I'd argue both of those guys were better than PS2. Better recievers all around during the Manning years too. Sutton is alright, but DT was probably better. ES was also better than anyone we have now, as was Decker, Welker, Julius. For D, we have nobody who is sacking the opposing QB right now. Von was and still is the man, but Derek W was better than anybody we currently have now on that side of the ball too. We were loaded before, and now, there's nobody but a rookie with potential to develop into. It isn't Coach Payton, it isn't Bo, it's the situation and the lack of talent all around elsewhere.

Love the videos, Tim! Hate when the Broncos lose. Back to back weeks of tough to watch football. I know those defenses are no joke, but man. Lethargic route running, no running game, very little excitement in the offense as a whole. See ya next week!

Having a run game would take some pressure off the rookie. Bo Nix is the leading rusher for Broncos so far

that would require calling run plays

@@TRAVDOG-pg3cm Javonte had 11 carries for 17 yards. That’s enough sample size to abandon the run. 1.5 yards per carry is horrendous

They should have kept Tim and let Sutton go! The dude has no motivation and is just a shell of what he used to be before his injury.

It's Sean, his coaching has been the common denominator. These play calls are trash. End of story.

Its game 2, for me I didn't expect the Broncos to be great this year. I just wanna see improvement from Bo through out this season, I want him to learn the speed of the NFL this season. Just don't get hurt, and keep grinding and that all I want.
