Thanks Steve Harvey for having Boris and Nicole on your show. Seeing them on TV is breath of honesty, love, family, faith, and restores my belief we are good parents that can be role models to all parents. Marvelous husband and wife team. Thank you...

Good for them. As a teacher, I wish more parents would do this concerning the phone. Parents really have no idea how dangerous it is with these phones and computers.

It really is..after 2yrs of begging and many conversations last fall I decided to reluctantly get my big kid a phone for Christmas. On about January 12 only a few days after returning to school following the holidays she had Snapchat, IG and about 5 different group chats with friends which we discussed prior to getting phone was prohibited. She pleaded she will get rid of them all and she was wrong I should give her another chance. Less than 10 days later she was back on Snapchat and had a couple of group chats. When I told her she had once again disobey me and will now have the phone taken for a while...she replied I'm sorry mommy, just take it away. I don't need this it 8s a distraction. 😲 Shocked I could not believe it. I took the phone and I am so glad I had decided on a month to month plan to try it out. She's ALWAYS been an honors student and avid reader. I am so lucky because I was not looking forward to any fights about a phone. She's agreed to a newer model of a smartwatch to make calls if needed. These kids are heavily distracted controlled and endangered with these devices.

It can be a blessing or curse. There's all kinds of seedy, low life scenarios out there & since Everyone needs to be on the lookout, how much MORE our children. Great job, Nicole & Boris. By the way, you two are STILL my favorite couple & you both STILL look Great & haven't aged any. GOD Bless you & family.

No phone for my kids period, no social media, and television was a damn treat!!! Television was watched only on Fridays and Saturdays. Television wasn't watched unless you're a toddler and not school age and it must be educational shows only!!!! Now that's what went down in my home and I was a single mom at the time. My children didn't get a phone until they became adults.
@sunshinecreole1319 Жыл бұрын
I concur. I did the same things that you have done to with your kids. I was a teen parent when I raised my two children up until I got married at 25. I applied those same rules in my house through their teenage years. I was known to my kids as the Mean Mom. My kids told me, "We can't have a phone, we can't have an email account, we can't stay up past midnight to watch TV, we can't date unless we are contemplating marriage, we don't have a life living in your house." I replied to my teenage children, "You want to be an adult and do adult things , then you can leave my house and do whatever you want in your house. There's the front door to your exit." My kids replied to me, "I'm moving out of your house ." And at the tender age of sixteen, they moved out of my house and they both have been trying to live the life of an adult since they moved from home. They are both in their 30's with children.

Agree with them, parents can raised their children anyway they want, but this is when you love your children and wants to protect them. It's ok to be strict in some areas of important with your children. Bravo for them!

We were those " strict" parents, they're grown now. They now understand, and the compliments we get now. Though they're not perfect but it makes a difference when both parents are around and you're on one accord.

I feel Boris 100% on this one. Block everything!!!!! Blessings.

Too strict, in my opinion. The three E's are essential to any child's development. Exposure, Experience, and Environment. Putting parental restrictions is good, but it allows children some exposure to teaching them how to navigate problems and challenges with parental guidance. Therefore, they will know how to deal with them when they are on their own

She will when she is ready to do so if they have equal goals and he is willing to be in a 50-50 relationship. Take that Boris and Nicole!

Get off your high horse. Your daughter did not have to deal with social media and mental health issues that comes with it. That's why there's something called parental control which a lot of parents are clueless about when it comes to social media.

I told my family that my now 6 month old will not have a phone until he’s 13/14 years of age. And then it will be heavy restricted too. Now I know some people in this world nowadays has lost their ever loving mind but if you raise your child properly with good discipline it minimizing a lot of the risk. Plus I’m not going to have my sons face stuck to a screen to the point that it becomes an addiction and he can’t function or think without it!!! No way not on my watch lol
