Still I think it would be good for everyone if they did that, and if they must keep rotation at least lower it to 2 or 3 months rather than how it is now with characters only appearing once every 6 months (RIP to anyone wanting Amber, Kaeya and/or Lisa constellations)

He's literally the mvp of element-specific buffers. Perfectly useable at C0, C4 turns him into a decent healer that Geo as an element lacks outside of Noelle, and C6 makes Itto, Gorou, Albedo and Ningguang into monsters. Plus nobody buffs def like him

Just go unga bunga with Itto all the way, and I can just give Gorou Favo Bow for Itto's burst to be refilled again. I never had fun to do one shot kills unless necessary. Because of how much i like Itto, I can appreciate his badassery while in his Burst.

The point is that he is useable at c0 perfectly, does something nobody else does, is good at doing what he needs to do, has no clunky gameplay, was not nerfed into the ground for no reason, his constellations pre-c6 are improvements that he can be playable without, and is not replaceable in any situation where DEF is appreciated. Hoyo really messed up with Faruzan, especially since Anemo is an element that will deal additional damage on the side through Swirl and is weak on it's own just like Geo (this is mostly why I avoid Xiao lol, other reason is needing c4 Jean to make him do damage). Literally put someone with Noblesse 4pc and use them instead of Faruzan until she is c6, but even then I would rather use Bennett or Diona since her energy generation is non-existent.

What I love about Gorou is how simple his kit is. He drops his E, his burst, then leaves. No charge shots required. Yes, Gorou is energy hungry as heck and he does negative damage but he's functional at C0. He's also very cheap to build: slap a f2p Fav bow with 4* exile set on him and he's good to go. Also only up his E if his support capabilities are all you care about. My Gorou is C6 with a level 13 E and level 4 burst.

gorou is awesome because he takes no resources to get going. at lvl 60 he's already 80% as good as lvl 90, he only really needs to upgrade one of his talents, his BIS artifact is a 4 star set, and his best weapon is a bow that doesn't get that much use and everyone probably has several copies anyway. and he has 100% uptime regardless of having energy or not, he works fine at c0 but most of his cons are nices-to-have quality of life upgrades... to me he is the best designed support in the entire game.

I was following 3.3 beta changes on the leaks subreddit, and iirc they nerfed her particle generation for her skill during the beta and added an ICD to her particle generation so that you can't generate additional particles easily from her C1. Her energy needs were manageable pre-nerfs, but I guess Hoyo thought she was too OP and nerfed her to oblivion

The whole idea of niche elemental supports is enabling mono element teams. For Electro, Geo, and Cryo, this is possible due to having numerous sub-DPS and on-field DPS characters who can benefit well from such supports, hence the niche is established. It's why mono Electro, mono Geo, and mono Cryo work. However, in Anemo's case, most characters are designed around being used in elemental teams (Kazuha/Sucrose/Venti), hence mono Anemo gets scuffed- and why Faruzan mostly sees use in double Anemo teams with just her and her DPS, which already makes her very replaceable. It doesn't also help that of the three Anemo DPS she supports, none of them fully synergize with her. Wanderer's passive encourages bringing non-Anemo units, thus making Faruzan a less desirable option. Heizou's first passive needs swirl and his second passive buffs EM, neither of which are utilized in mono Anemo. Xiao would be ideal if only he didn't have his own energy issues too. Aside from the more obvious large power gaps she has with her constellations and her aimed shot gameplay which people already showed dislike for ever since Sara, mono Anemo, her supposed niche, isn't just a feasible niche right now with its current cast of characters. Later in the future, if we get someone like an Anemo Fischl or Rosaria (off-field DPS who can generate particles well), Faruzan will be a more desirable option. Until then, mono Anemo will be very hard to pull off.

i couldnt agree more. the double anemo point is so accurate because while she provides powerful res shred, she could absolutely be replaced by another four star that does off field damage and get a similar value. and anemos archetype is built off of interacting with other elements, so she feels odd to place in a team frankly speaking

While people's been testing and playing her as a niche support. I play her as main DPS on field with Sucrose as her battery/support, couple with Bennett and Zhongli and it's very fun. Her energy issue is negligible with sac frag Sucrose and fav lance Zhongli. Oh but you will need at least C1 to unlock her double charged shot, kinda like Tighnari playstyle.

like others have suggested, i really think hoyoverse needs to start adding some of the older 4 stars to the Paimon’s bargains shop!! i mean, they already do a similar thing in Honkai where they add older/outdated characters to one of the many shops where you can just grind for the currency needed to purchase them/their fragments… ik Honkai and Genshin aren’t exactly a perfect 1:1 comparison in terms of how character value changes overtime, but with the growing roster of 4 stars in genshin and no system in place to guarantee a desired 4 star on a specific banner, something needs to change

I'd argue that Faruzan is worse then Sara cause Sara doesn't have nearly as many problems with energy due to Raiden and Electro resonance. Not to mention at least Sara CAN be used at C2 due to not needing to charge shot. Faruzan doesn't get the luxury of having another unit to fix her issues.

The thing is not about being strong at C6, but that a constellation (and one that far away) literally changes a character to which is borderline unusable before that. I think it would be fine if faruzan just gave a broken amount of numbers at C6 and was like ok tier before that, but it's not just about numbers but also about playability and satisfying/rewarding gameplay..

@@vergil9981 I think you are overestimating them. They were clearly surprised by how fast the game got "solved" by people. Probably solved more than they themselves ever thought. I mean, the fact that the two of the resonances were changed already tells you that they weren't aware of how their own elemental gameplay would work together. Bennet is a good example. After his C1, none of his constellations are actually supporting a "support" playstyle. They all support a Bennet DPS playstyle. Because "support" wasn't really thought about much in the early development. They saw every character as an on-field DPS first which is why the support characters are so broken and why the constellations feel so all over the place (like Fischl's self healing constellation).

I tried Genshin on a new account after a few months break because I just wasnt having fun anymore, and yet saw so much potential... Gone was the safety of high constellation 4 stars, especially some of the earliest ones (Bennet; Xiangling, Xinqiu), along with my expansive five stars, but I had a chance to rebuild and to gain and to experience the game in a whole new light!! Except. The game is so so so hard to play when a multitude of characters are locked behind new regions. I got a characters I wanted to play, over and over and over again, but I was forced to build other ones until I progressed... And I progressed extremely slowly. Why? Because with this new account, I wanted to pay more attention to all of the story and lore I had missed, forgotten, or ignored the first time around☹ It became too annoying so I became discouraged and played on and off for a month or two... Luckily, Ei came in clutch just about when I had gotten into Inazuma, and has been making the experience enjoyable again😁

Not only they will lock 5-Stars full potential on its constellations but also try to squeeze some more on its dedicated 4-Star support and that support will be only useful at C6, which is kinda hard to get TBH. Heizou is just plain fun, I have Xingqiu with him for swirls. I haven't been able to farm everything for Wanderer yet, but his trial run was fine without Faruzan.

Gorou i think was specific buffers done right, everything else always seemed to have something off about them. C0 kuki has that long time to apply buff problem,c0 shenhe has very little buff uptime, c0 faruzan has some energy problems and has a poor buff uptime for xiao users. Her burst also has a weird triangle movement which just makes it so her buff during her ult is inconsistent.

he was done right, but he honestly isn't the best fit for his "suportees". he's mostly an additive buffer, and two of the three characters that benefit the most from his buffs have massive base stats already. he's super good, but compared to what bennet is to units with low attack, gorou doesn't make that much of a difference for noelle and itto. i mean, it's nice that he give likes 800 atk to noelle with a lvl 13 burst, but 1300 when she already had 3500 before he stepped in isn't that large of an increase. good thing there's also a 15% geo bonus damage and his c6, otherwise he'd be kinda meh. good only because there aren't other options. what geo really needs is a multiplicative buffer, like kazuha, or a mona that lasts longer. long story short: Gorou gives geo +30% damage because they already have a ton of defense of their own. I think it's unfortunate that Faruzan is so investment-hungry when she shares the space with Gorou. The problem with double arrow is that it has particle icd, meaning you cant shoot two and get 4 particles, you have to wait for the cooldown to reset basically if you want it to be consistent to get the particles, which Means it's only really useful for if you miss the first shot and got no particles

The major difference of Faruzan to Sara, Gorou and Shenhe is her buffing capability is only available at Burst. Sara, Gorou and Shenhe provides her buffing ability in their skill while also providing enough energy for their supposed DPS. Meanwhile, Faruzan's skill is technically useless and not enough energy to sustain herself. If Hoyoverse just designed her kit where she buff using skill, and shred using Burst (like Shenhe), this problem will be avoided. It wouldn't make her completely insane in C6, but atleast it would make her completely viable at C0.

2:20 I disagree. Her scaling from base atk is probably one of the only few POSTIVE things going for her. I mean, base atk is only increased via levels and the base atk of your weapon - so atk stats on artifacts don't matter whatsoever and you can purely focus on ER as main stats and substats for every single artifact piece you have. Sure, if you could, you would want the highest base atk weapon which may not have ER as a main stat - and maybe you can run sac bow over fav bow to trade some ER for base atk - but if she scaled from almost anything else then THAT would be getting in the way of building ER on her. Also, I'mma say it. This vid may not be Faruzan hate but this comment is. For what reason did they have to make her energy requirements so high? And from what I know, her constellations don't help besides the final one! What? I'm so annoyed at these anxiety jokes. The main reason for the comment is that they focus on their Chinese audience first. Their main Chinese targeted audience work long hours in the day with only a few hours of freetime (barely). It’s well known that scara fans have been saving for him for awhile so one of the only ways they’d make more (knowing that ppl have a lot of wishes saved. Wishes saved = less top-ups being bought) money is to lock Faruzan’s “fixes” behind her cons. Especially since we know that people were stoked to finally have an anemo support for a while. It kinda sucks bc even if you did save up for just his weapon and a single copy of him guaranteed, you aren’t guaranteed c6 faruzan anyway. 😭 so then you’d feel Like you’d have to pay money to keep pulling and hopefully get her so your scara could be the best he could be. I have no problem with exclusive elemental supports since it allows me to explore more teams. I mostly main geo so I have a Gorou and even my Gorou which buffs significantly for my Itto and Albedo isn't even that well invested. Fav and 4pc exile with ER sands is enough to sustain him. His kit is also very easy to use and understand. However for Faruzan she isn't technically hard to use but her kit is somewhere mismatched. Like what does her E do it doesn't even give buffs or debuff, the cc isn't very strong and it generates little particles, I also find it weird that you have to CA after casting her E why not just make her cast E and swap her out. She doesn't work as sub DPS unless you invest greatly on her and for a support she's not doing too great since she has no means to generate particles. She's really hard to use at C0 rotation wise unless you have 3 anemo. The only good thing for me about her is that she scales off base attack so you can give her high base weapon and just focus on ER on the artifacts. Honestly speaking if hoyo do plan to make niche 4* character support like Faruzan, Sara and Gorou I wish they would just design them as straight forward as Gorou who is by far the most cohesive niche 4* support. I thought Sara is bad at C0 as an electro support but low key I'm not a huge fan of Faruzan currently.

Dude, Garo literally just uses his skill and he buffs Geo for as long as the field last. Shenhe presses E and her buff last 12 seconds or set number of hits. Sara presses E, lands a charge shot and provides 6 second buff. Faruzan only half functions at CO.

@@usmanya5110 Bennett's burst cost 60 energy. His skill generates 2 particles on a 5 sec CD on press and he has a passive that reduces the CD by 20%. No one in their right mind would say Bennett has a high energy cost. People use him to battery other units. I can maybe see someone say Xingqui has a high energy cost because his Burst cost 80. But his skill generates 4 to 5 particles on hit and most use Sacrificial Sword. Hell, he can even battery other units while still using his burst off cool down.

For me it was just disappointing as a Xiao main not planning to pull for Scaramouche anyway, because it makes it much more difficult for the constellations. Especially as Xiao is notoriously difficult energy wise, and therefore I'd have to sacrifice things like pyro res, Zhongli, or Benny for Sucrose, things that dramatically increase his damage. I use Sucrose now but I don't think it's necessarily worth the benny buff or the Zhongli comfort of play.

@@Galariel Part of the problem too imo is the fact that mono Anemo isn't as feasible as say, mono Electro for Sara or mono Geo for Gorou. You can run multiple damage dealing characters for the latter two (Yae-Raiden and Albedo-Itto), which makes building them worth as a niche team. But in Faruzan's case, there are hardly any Anemo sub-DPS for her to also support. I think if we got an Anemo sub-DPS who can fit in Xiao/Heizou/Wanderer teams, then Faruzan-centric mono Anemo teams might be more worth building.

I probably won't use her in the Abyss, although I might give it a try. Gorou at C0 is good, at C4 he gets better and at C6 you can even use him with Ningguang due to how his C6 is a copy paste of Sara and Faruzan's but with Geo. Faruzan is useable at C0 but even I think I'll need constellations to actually use half of her potential. Sara... please send buffs... we know she's not Zhongli (same for Thoma whose shielding is honestly pathetic and Xinyan who is Xinyan), but for the love of archons make certain characters work the way they're supposed to WITHOUT constellations.

We have an interesting question to consider first: Faruzan and Gorou are the only characters that can buff Anemo and Geo, respectively. Because mainly they are elements that don't work with reactions to increase damage. Pyro, Cryo, Hydro and Electro we had reactions and Anemo buffers. Physical we had reactions and DEF reductions of the same reaction element, like Lisa A4 or Rosaria C6. But it's only Faruzan who has a problem: She's definitely not good with Anemo who don't use much skill. For example, the Wanderer doesn't generate much energy, so she doesn't have much to help her replenish energy. Xiao, for example, has less problems compared to Faruzan because he uses the skill before the burst. Heizou generates a nice amount of energy too, so Faruzan doesn't suffer as much either. So it ends up being a bit of a boring question. I think she still lacks a pure Sub DPS Anemo for her to make a better impact on the game for Mono Elemental teams.

The bigger problem for hoyo is they are running out of character roles to fill. All elements now have a main dps, sub dps, and buff/support characters that are reasonably functional. Where do they go from here? For the most part all they can now provide is side grades to the existing rosters. After players have 3-4 team comps what is the incentive to pull on side grades..... sure some might be a better fit to fill a specific role but once that is filled then what? They can revamp geo reactions I guess or add a new mechanic or stat..... idk..... things will probably stagnate and be over saturated if they keep this model up...

I kinda disagree with she is the only one who completely becomes a different characters with C6... Noelle becomes DPS after C6, Yelan C6 made her into a dps monster instead of just a better Xing Qiu.

I started a new account just to revisit some of the early story and ended up with a Fauzaun. At low levels like AR 40 and lower, she is not bad at C0, Im noticing a lot of the characters are like this. The AR and World Level have a lot of effect on how "good" or "usable" a character can be. If your max AR and World level, You need a lot of 4 stars to be max Constellation for efficiency and for doing the abyss. But at law AR and World Rank...Having c0 is not that much of an issue. I think there is a balance issue where you hit say AR 45 then hit a wall of needing characters to be level 70+ or C2 or higher cons.

All a tactic to squeeze money out of a hyped 5 star character. They know the numbers and are maximizing the hype around this and know 4 stars can be a substantial increase in revenue for there higher paying audience, as there are no guarantees you can get the needed cons for there kit especially for these dedicated supports. I like to watch the pull videos just to see what the true cost is and it is clear that a lot of the time its more likely the rolls will not go your way.

I know it's not the topic of the video, but I honestly think bows are just a horrendous weapon type. I promise it's related. Think about it: there are only 3 competitive bow characters that actually use their bows: Ganyu, Yoimiya, and Tighnari. Even Yoimiya it's arguable, because i could even see someone with her exact same kit using a catalyst. Diona is useful for her shield and healing, fischl is an applicator with her skill, venti is defined by his black hole burst, and childe literally THROWS HIS BOW AWAY and becomes immeasurably better. None of them utilize their weapon to get their value, instead focusing on skills and bursts which can be tacked onto any weapon type. So this basically leaves bow with two things that make it unique: physical ranged attacks (that basically no one uses) and the charged shot. But who actually utilizes the charged shot? Well, as mentioned before, Tighnari and Ganyu. Ganyu's numbers are just ridiculous and a main weakness of charge shot: the single target nature. Tighnari doesnt have the numbers Ganyu has, but he circumvents another weakness by having a reduction to the charge time in his base kit. The only two characters who utilize the charge shot regularly both have to modify it in some way to make it a viable playstyle. Back to the elemental buffers. Gorou is usable at c0, but he gets much better at c6. People avoid using sara at c0, instead recommending c2. Everyone knows Faruzan is borderline unusable until c6. Well, why is that? Back to bows: both Sara and Faruzan have a skill to charged shot playstyle while Gorou does not. Both Sara's c2 and Faruzan's c6 make that charge shot unnecessary by wrapping their desired effects into a skill: Sara's skill applies the buff, Faruzan's burst regenerates her energy. Both have entirely different issues that are caused by charge shot. Bow is just made horrendously worse than every other weapon type because the thing that makes it unique. Faruzan has horrible energy problems because her way of regenerating energy is slow and annoying to use, Hoyo literally NERFED her by giving her a bow. If it was literally any other weapon type (besides maybe claymore), skill to charged attack would not be a problem.

I agree with the overall analysis, but I'm asking for clarification and rebuttal terms. Isn't the main problem with so few bow focused bow users is because the rest are all supports? Because Fischl dropping Oz and your other examples, how is that any different from other weapons with support catagories? Only the onfielders "use" their weapons, the rest just use whatever animation that makes sense. Like what makes these abilities any worse because they're bows? Like the Kaeya/dendro traveler cone splash skill. They're swinging their swords, but you could do the same type of ability with a bow user shooting a spread shot. Or the extended hand, for magically aiming summonable skills, could be done the same with a bow user charging a differently glowy shot. It's just a change in animation. How is that any different aside from weapon availability and raw numbers? Similarly, the two cryo shielders. Layla literally just summons a shield out of nowhere, and even summons her mobile ult. She doesn't use her sword. Meanwhile, even if she tosses her thematic drink shaker for her ult, Diona at least shoots her kitty paw projectiles from her bow to hit enemies. So by those standards Diona is more of a bow user while Layla is barely a sword user, she might as well be a catalyst (which we still need). So what problem mechanically makes the bow users so much worse compared to supports in general? Because for the most part it's just an on field carry problem.

i think for me the problem isnt for faruzan specifically, but with wanderer isnt good enough to carry himself unlike xiao who only need anemo battery.
