One tidbit you'd notice with Venti is the promise he makes to the Traveler. He promised that he'll always be with the Traveler, "Whenever you need me, I'll always be by your side" (Teapot). Think about who rescues the Traveler: Venti, Childe, Xiao, Thoma, Kazuha, Shenhe, Xiao (2.8), (Tighnari would also technically fit....). Notice a common theme among those who save the Traveler. Most of them are Anemo Users (Venti himself, Xiao, Kazuha). So in a way, Venti is always there for us. Let's not forget the little achievement you get for sitting in the hands of the Anemo Archon statue, "Beloved of the Anemo Archon." You don't get an achievement like that in any of the other regions. Venti even calls you, "My Warrior," in the Teapot. This hints how close Venti was with the Traveler, whether it be in the past, present, or future. Also the Traveler's ascension material is a Windwheel Aster. While this could be a gameplay mechanic, I don't think it's a coincidence. One of the presents Venti gives you in his birthday mail are 10 Windwheel Asters. The Traveler gives Thoma Windwheel Asters in his Hangout. Windwheel Asters are strongly associated with wind, similar to Cecilias. Both grow in places where there's wind Asters grow in gentle winds, Cecilia grow in harsh winds). Xiao, just for the sake of taking One of your examples, saving the traveler is just quite literally Xiao saving the traveler, it's not due to element, it's due to the type of person Xiao is, it's his merit to be clear (you're kinda taking the merit away from the characters). If there is a bigger chance of anemo users to save the traveler then that's a characteristic in common of characters who are blessed with anemo vision, as you know, for example geo users are more hardworking, pratical people etc, there's traits in common but a geo users saving the traveler is not zhongli saving the traveler. Venti is in all places because the wind blows everywhere, quite literally so it's not difficult to imagine what he was refering to

But he also just, you know, changes the whole landscape of Mondstadt including getting rid of Pilos Peak and making sure that the tiny bit that is left of it, the Musk Reef, is left alone and not being traveled to much by other people. Obviously because the entrance to the Abyss is there but that makes it more peculiar since he doesn't talk about that at all. And I vaguely remember the traveler asking Venti why he changed the landscape and Venti answered something along the lines of "to make the land more fruitful and liveable for everyone" and completely changes the topic afterwards. Mondstadt was VERY different in the past and Venti shuts down any questions about that. It's quite interesting.

Golden Apple Archipelago is the remnants of Pilos Peak. Only the very summit became Musk Reef/entrance to the Spiral Abyss. The lore of Dragonspine shows that it’s people became allies with, and possibly moved to, the people of the nearby mountain, and those people were part of building a nation without a god (Khaenri’ah). Pilos peak used to be at Dadaupa Gorge, as “dadaupa” (in the Hilichurlian Language Guide) means “big mountain”.

I want to see that moment when Venti shows us his real full power, which we have never actually seen. He pretends to be weak and small, but this is all an act, he is a bard so he knows all too well how to perform an act. He planned his "ambush" by Signora, otherwise he would have sensed her or chased her away. Also when he "defended" himself against Signora his hair didn't glow, which means he wasn't actually using his power (Archons have their hair glow when using their power). His body is fake and so is his goofy personality. Him calling himself weak is another of his giant lies. He says this to make others see him as weak so they underestimate his real potential for threat. Why is he lying to us? Is he a friend or a foe? Imagine the scenes and how cool it would look like when Venti finally shows us his real immense strength. Picture this, Venti is backed into a corner by a powerful foe, a real threat that is capable of killing him (probably a superpowerd person from Celestia). This would be when his "Venti" human form fades away and he becomes pure wind and shows his real self as an omnipresent disembodied voice coming from every direction. This is his true form, not the human Venti or his initial small wind spirit form, he is pure wind and power. His enemy would be really scared as they now know they have underestimated the wrath of Barbatos. 😲

Do you remember how everyone thought that he was the weakest of the Archons? This could be explained by the fact that at that time there was no reliable source that would give information about where the gods draw their powers from. However, with the release of a new story quest in Sumeru, we learned from Buer, the Goddess of Wisdom that the number of followers and their power of love and faith affect the power of the Archon (Even the Wanderer said that the deity cannot exist without followers.) And...Just look at the Mondstadt, There is a statue, a huge cathedral, a lot of believers (even the hilichurls worship him, singing their songs and getting drunk) and even his statue / statues of the Archon (From whom we heal) are wiped to thank him. I am already silent about the fact that his gnosis is in the form of a Queen, the most powerful chess piece (And it has been confirmed that the figure depends on strength), but even if not, how can a weak Archon have such an important figure?

The Knights are NOT the only ruling force in Mondstadt. We learn this in a throwaway statement about what documents need to be signed by whom to get the magic harp from the church. Three signatures are required. Beyond Jean for the Knights, the head of the Church and a third figure that seems to represent merchants and guilds has to sign on. Mondstadt appears to be a triumvirate. Of these three, Venti presumably could direct two, although since Diluc is the richest merchant in Mondstadt and knows who Venti is, he's really got a lock on all three I'd guess. That is... whenever he wants it. The fact that he delegates his authority to three commissions which handle every day ruling, is actually pretty similar to Liyue and especially Inazuma.

Oh ya, Mondstadt is absolutely gonna be part of the end game. While each nation has its own important theme, the theme of Mondstadt being freedom vs tyranny is the most relevant one of all with the whole Primordial one and Celestia's fight over control while the humans are just thrown in. Even when you compare their issues, Mondstadt practically has none. Liyue was too dependent on Morax and they needed to learn to depend on themselves, Inazuma had a civil war alongside Raiden's refusal to change, and now Sumeru with the Akademiya's researchers being so egotistical they don’t want to let Kusanali have a hand in ruling Sumeru and hounding knowledge to themselves. Mond's only real issue is Dvalin being corrupted by the abyss, and that wasn’t the fault of Venti or the people of Mond. Add to that the fact that Venti is the only archon so far who has some direct connection to Istaroth, both Kaeya and Albedo are connected to Khaenriah and we first meet Dainsleif in Mond.

As I'm watching your video, I realize something. Each archon rules over their lands in a different way. Starting with Venti and Zhongli, t hey are both respected as gods are. Venti give his people free will and compared to Zhongli, Venti's treated like an actual capital-G-God with a church of worship and everything. Out of all the gods, Venti is the most treated like how most of us would treat our God. Zhongli, on the other hand, is more like Santa. Sure he'll come down and help his people every once in a while, but he has one day a year when he's known to come down in a specific form for them to recognize him. In that respect, Venti and Zhongli's ways of "ruling" their lands are about the same. When you look at Ei and Nahida on the other hand, they compliment each other in a different way. Like opposites, really. Ei is the literal ruler of her people, the Shogun. She handles day to day aspects of her government and truly cares for the future of her people. Nahida does too but much like the Emperor of Japan, Nahida's more like a figurehead. She's hardly ever seen in public, confined to her tower like Rapunzel, and she has no real power to control the day-to-day goings on of her people. That's more the akademiya than anyone else in the country. Depending on how you look at it, who is more powerful, really?

queen is also a 'weak' chess piece. As there is a concept of "pinning" pieces to a place. And this is usually applied to the King and Queen. When there's a piece that blocks a line of attack from the enemy piece to your queen. You can't move that piece or you lose your queen. And with the king, if that happens, you can't move it coz otherwise you lose the game. So, in a sense, the queen, like the king, is both the strongest and the weakest piece. Just a matter of perspective. Oh right and in most games the "queen" gets lost in a trade, usually for the other queen.

I feel like people often discredit how much Venti is involved in the story just because of his seemingly chill nature. One feeling I couldn't shake during the Irodori Festival was that Venti defiantly had a role in orchestrating the whole thing. Not only did he have an invitation from Ayato himself, was seen with the first piece of evidence (also helped find others very quickly), he was also seen eating with Miko in the end, who was probably also part of the whole thing (I forget if her participation was confirmed or not). If anything, from the GAA and this festival, we know that Venti is perfectly capable of influencing and being a part of things happening in other nations. He also has so many connections with other people. I really wonder about him sometimes. Thanks for such an amazing video!

@thecongadrums2 жыл бұрын
I think Venti could have some connection to the Primordial One (I'm unsure exactly how, but he seems more closely linked to Istaroth than any other archon). This would explain his attitudes towards Celestia, that of general dislike and fear, but also reluctance to speak in depth about it. His inaction and lengthy inactivity with the sole exception of if his ideal of "freedom" is threatened, could be either (if Celestia is aware of his connection) a pedantic protest of some kind of agreement he has with Celestia where he rules a nation by their principles in return for his life, or (if Celestia isn't aware) to stay under the radar so that Celestia doesn't look at him too closely. Also important to keep in mind that the ideal of "freedom" and Venti's application of it most aligns with the Primordial One, who created and cared for humans, compared to other archons and their ideals. - The highlights of his hair, which common to all archons light up when using elemental power, do not light up a bit as his gnosis is being taken for a supposed plot to rebel against the divine. He kept up the appearance of resisting, but could secretly be backing or even be a core part of the Tsaritsa's overall plan. - We know erosion has affected Zhongli and his decisions deeply, but as the only other remaining original archon, Venti seems unaffected and we have no mentions of it relating to him as far as I know. I don't have any possible explanation for this, but it is suspicious. There's lots of bits and pieces and nothing concrete - but Venti is one suspicious guy

The idea that Venti is the strongest archon has support from another angle as well. The ties between the gnoses and chess pieces is not exactly a hidden one. Zhongli's gnosis (which we see) looks like a rook. Not surprising, since defense is a geo speciality, so a "castle" gnosis fits. Venti's gnosis was a queen. Venti is definitely the most sus character in the game mainly because any infos and crumbs we got about him only made us question him more. 1. a "mere" wind spirit (that sounds so insignificant but we never saw his same kind from all 4 regions we have so far, just like Paimon) became an archon? (a wind spirit made such big changes, helping overthrow Decarabian, and suddenly Andrius that always hostile and couldn't care less about humans, sacrifice his body for the safety of humans? Why the change? There have always been other gods and humans, but he was still hostile, the only difference at the time he decides to let go of his physical body was since the wind spirit is among them.) 2. His power, instead of brute force (that he can still do btw, chop off islands and mountains and yeet them out of the map, no big deal, lol) he is also mysteriously capable of "taming” and making peace to animals (the likes of Ursa The Drake - he shooed this hostile creature just by a wink, Durin and Dvalin, maybe in some degree Andrius too) and with his music he saved Xiao from Karma. With Weinlesefest Event, he has power connected to time (called forth the winds of the past), the only Archon so far that can do that. 3. He's linked with Istaroth, that's another mystery to discover. 4. The Abyss obsession of him and Mondstadt (stealing Mondstadt book, stealing a 'treasure' from a Mondstadt child, stealing Barbatos statue, and trying to take Dvalin from Barbatos). Maybe Venti flipping Pilos Peak (Spiral Abyss) upside down have more history behind it? 5. Every other region, even the ancient civilization has some link with Mondstadt and Venti/Barbatos: Golden Apple Archipelago, obviously. Liyue and The Chasm: Venti saved Xiao, an Adepti, a creature that doesn't exist in Mondstadt and you’d think he shouldn't know much and couldn't do much to Karmic Debt (because it doesn't exist in Mondstadt), but no, Barbatos saved Xiao from it. The Chasm, or more like The Ancient Civilisation at The bottom of the Chasm, an ancient letter from that place mentioned his name, like, why him, won’t name dropping other always-present & glorious history Gods would make the poem grander or something? It only means that civilization is familiar with Barbatos and if I interpret the letter correctly, the people who wrote it think very highly of Barbatos power. Inazuma: He is friends with the most influential figures in the country (Yae and Ayato, Raiden too ofc, now Kazuha too), the whole thing with the letter with secret history about Inazuma Clan, he seems to know it to be involved and gave clues here and there the way he did. Enkanomiya (Ancient Civilisation, again): where we figured out his link with Istaroth in Sun and Moon. Sumeru: does anyone find it curious that Sumeru (Aranara Quest) has sooo much to do with music? Quoting Venti, he is the temple of music. Even the device (lyre/harp) we use is from Mondstadt and the original owner is from Mondstadt too, how come an item from another country have that much importance in Sumeru? During the quest, Barbatos was mentioned there too (the game really often name-dropped Barbatos in everything). (UPDATE: Barbatos is mentioned in Sumeru Glider lore, basically saying Wind Glider only works with Barbatos Blessing.) Tell me any other character that is so internationally involved by the game like this, only Venti (maybe Dain and Abyss Sibling, because they travel). Even for Natlan, all we know so far about Natlan came from Venti (manga), Mare Jivari an area without wind, we know that place from his story quest (why, game, explain me! Even in a place without wind, you still involved Barbatos in it). He told us the tale about ancient/primordial Gods creating the earth by sacrifice (in the manga), how did he know that, and if it was just a fiction tale, why he created that poem/tale? 6. His "Gateway to Celestia" statue, what does it mean? His sleeping habit, why? 7. He knows songs from the past, present and future. The most mind f*cked statement ever. 8. He's the one telling us about Battle Pass' tale. (With so many ancient tales he told us, I wonder how old he actually is, maybe there's another history of Barbatos before the wind spirit shape? Or maybe BP is Venti retelling us about our previous adventure. Timeloop theory?) 9. So far he's the only archon that ever mentioned anything about the strength (and that was to claim he is the weakest archon). Zhongli is very blunt about Venti (and vice versa), but he never calls him anything that remotely implies that Barbatos is weak. As far as I remember, even Signora that hated him never calls him weak. Again, with the chasm mysterious letter, even the people from ancient civilisation think highly of his power, out of many gods, they wrote Barbatos power as something that could possibly saved them. 10. His second story quest, when? 11. His relationship with Dvalin. Dvalin is born from heaven (is "the heaven" means Celestia or the “true” heaven, Primodial Gods or does Dvalin has something to do with the OG 7 Sovereign Dragons?). How did they meet, and how Dvalin's so attached to him? If it really was just because of his music, then his power via music is really something else. 12. (UPDATE) More to add, from the latest Weinlesefest event, he brought back the gust of wind from the past (and show Razor his parents). Crazy. Not really related to Venti but Why Anemo/Pure Seelie is the only seelie that can be found in the other region? Not to mention something always have anything to do with Mondstadt: 1.Gold send Durin and Albedo to Mondstadt, why? 2. Kaeya is placed in Mondstadt, why? 3. So far the ancient civilization that was all underground has strong architectural similarities with Mondstadt (surface). 4. The first Field Tiller came to Mondstadt, why? Even odder, with how many Abyss Orders trying to mess with Mondstadt and how defenseless Mondstadt looks, so far Mondstadt is relatively...clean? (the sus one is only Dragonspine). No Karmic Energy, Black Mud, Withering, etc, that other nation has. Maybe Mondstadt's serious problem is in the future expansion area? Isn't it weird that the most defenseless country (as the community sees and the game implies) is the safest one? Why Hoyoverse made Mondstadt contradictory like that? Bonus: Alice who is near omnipotent mage, smart and powerful, trusted Mondstadt to be the right place for her only daughter to grow up in, her judgment of choosing Mondstadt over any other nation is quite intriguing. Can't wait for the time when the lore course back to Mondstadt. (UPDATE. More crumbs! 1. Hexenzirkel, a group of great influental witches who studies Irminsul and the truth of this world went to Mondstadt and challenge the Anemo Archon (why? For what?) and…they just simply stopped by a few persuassion from Venti? “Make peace, music and tea, and not war” then they’d be like “okay, I want to entrust my kid/creation to your nation, we’ll hangout here from now on too, vent to you a little too”. HUH?? Am I the only one who is confused here? 2. Nahida shapeshifting case, turned out shape shifting is a difficult thing to do, even for an archon! (With Adepti I think all adepti have 2 forms: human and magical animal form, idk if they can shapeshift into entirely different being. So far there’s no case of any of them shown doing that) Nahida only managed to shapeshift into a fungi for a few minutes, it exhausted her. Who has shapeshifted since forever? Copied, and functions as an entire human being? Venti, the wind spirit that anatomically is just a wind, a spirit, take the form of a human and function as human (he drinks, gets drunk). Apep’s resident who shapeshifted into a fungi said it needed time (basically evolution) and power. The fake fungi, one of Apep’s residents said even as a being that’s very adaptive to the elements surrounding them still find it very difficult. So is Venti a being that is very blessed by Time is also very adaptive into the elements? But to maintain it for centuries? Hmmmm 🤔

11:00 Based on what the dendro archon said, "everything in this world runs in a loop". My theory is that the entire story of Teyvat is a giant loop (like when you finish a game and then you can restart it from the beginning). The cataclysm is the end of the story and the start of a new "loop". the Abyssal sibling already has experienced this "loop", that's why they tell the traveler "we will meet at the end of the journey". If both siblings are cannon, then each "loop", their roles are switched each time there's a new "loop". If Venti has a connection with Time, then he could remember each "loop" and recall every event. That's why he's calm and secretive. He just plays along with everything as he already knows what happens in the end.

There is another curiosity that I discovered, I try to explain it I am Italian and now they will also translate the game into our language, I noticed a strange difference in a dialogue when venti talks about Jean seeing the translation previews on honey impact. In English it says that: Acting Grand Master Jean... Well, what do you think of her? Yes, I couldn't agree more: conscientious, courageous... kind and considerate too. Reminds me of another good friend.... I always thought "the good friend" was vennessa, but in this last part there is a difference not visible in English because the word "friend" is used in the same form in both masculine and feminine, but in Italian it is not. It seems that in Italian based on whether at the beginning of the game we choose Lumine or Aether, the dialogue changes and refers to the friend in the feminine if we have Aether and in the masculine if we have Lumine, it could be translated to something like this: Aether Reminds me of a female friend Lumine Reminds me of a male friend Vennessa is a female, so why does the gender of the sentence change based on the traveler's choice at the beginning of the game? This is somewhat suspicious...and may confirm the fact that Venti and our character's twin met in Kaenhrya.

Lets recall: (current version 3.3) Venti still doesn't have a 2nd story quest while Zhongli and Ei does. The Windblume festival and some many other limited quests could've been a 2nd story quest for Venti but Hoyo didn't do it. So far Venti is the only Archon with the closest connection to the Goddess of Time (yet him nor other Monstadt characters ever mention her) Apparently, when the aristocrats were in power, the Lawrence Clan burned a massive portion of the books in Monstadt's library, most of which includes Monstadt's history and very likely to have contained info about the Goddess of Time. They surely might've found something in the books that they didn't like, clearly they wouldn't burn all those books for no reason. There's the Dandelion Sea, Doberman Port (I think that's what it's called) and the Black Castle (according to a leaked concept map), which are all still unreleased regions, Monstadt lore and story is still not finished. Varka and the Higher Ranked Knights all went on an Expedition to Khaenriah and we are sure to get some kind of info when they get back (Hope Hoyo doesn't do some cliche plot to avoid us learning the story). Plus Alice, very likely to be a Descender, and has travelled to many parts of Teyvat is a key character who could tell us about the Past or about Teyvat. The Dragonspine story is still not done yet (or more specifically Albedo's story), we know that he has a clone, and there could be other clones that Rhinedotter made, and him "destroying monstadt" eventually is in waiting (I wonder how Hoyo will talk about the Clone Albedo thing to newer players since they freaking made it a limited quest, hope they make it into a permanent quest before we move on to the main part). The Abyss has Venti's statue out of all the other Archons, they could've taken Nahida's statue since she was in that cage the whole time since she or other sumeru people wouldn't be able fight the Abyss, but they took Venti's statue instead. (Concerning). Now the last part, the Spiral Abyss in Monstadt, eventually we'll visit this place in later quest. The Monstadt story we've seen so far is barely a fraction of what's to come. I am getting worried since Monstadt is the most comfortable place for me out of all the other regions. Whenever we finish lore heavy quests from other regions (Enkanomiya, Inazuma, Liyue, Sumeru), they all tie back to Monstadt somehow.

I read a comment a long while ago, on either Reddit or KZbin, about how something that Venti said to Signora before she took his gnosis essentially called her a traitor/foreigner to Mondstadt. Then, given the Crimson Witch lore and Signora's hatred for Venti, that was like the final straw that pushed her to steal it as violently as she did. I've got no real basis for this theory, it's all speculation based on casual inferences, but it makes me wonder if Venti purposely called her that to in order to keep himself as the villain of her life. While he tacks on responsibilities to the Traveler very often, he also frequently takes on more emotionally... sensitive? tasks using his own direct power/influence, i.e; Stanley, Klee, Dvalin, the Mondstadt Rebellion, etc. He's implied to take on a lot of emotional trauma and just continue taking it in order for those around him to live happily and freely. If that's the case, then antagonizing Signora could have served two prominent purposes: resolving any indecisiveness/emotional conflict about her feelings towards him, and pushing her/the Tsaritsa in their quest to rebel against Celestia while keeping his own plans hidden. I also ponder this because of the recent information about Celestia that's come out in these past few updates. Destroying every single civilization that's come close to becoming either too sovereign or having more power/influence than Celestia itself? I can't see Anemo Archon "Dic(k)tator Destroyer" Barbatos agreeing with that after all he's went through. I hope to see a lot more of Venti as the game continues. He's one of my absolute favorites in every manner of being, and seeing how much importance he still has in the story psyches me up every time he has a speaking role. Also, can y'all believe we're effectively halfway through the main story at this point? I remember thinking it'd take 10 years, and now I feel like it'll be complete before 2025 hits...

Celestia in its way is conflicting itself. At first, the Primordial One is the one made the unified civilization and nurished it. However, the problems only came after there was an invasion by the Second Who Came. They said that the invaders were defeated, but if it were still the Primordial One, why would they destroy the civilization they created for their people? It's as if it were taboo to know too much when Celestia encouraged its flourishment, isn't it contradicting? I feel that maybe, the fact that the Primordial One chased the invaders away was a lie and that the invaders are the one who pretended to be the Primordial One and ruling over Celestia. For this reason, it only makes sense for them to destroy whichever civilization they judged being too advanced in a way that they are too close to the truth. Ofc, the imposters wouldn't want such a secret to be revealed, which made them silence these civilizations by destroying them

To be honest, he had very little reason to reveal anything at the start. Whatever reason he had probably went out the window when he realized the traveler was weak as a baby bird and had no memories of their past journey in Teyvat. His secrets (which could get him killed) would be revealed to an unknown entity that would be unable to do anything for a while, or get themselves killed along the way. Once we finish traveling through the seven nations though, I hope we head back to Mondstadt and maybe get further questions cleared up by Venti. He is probably the only one (that we know of) willing to share this information, but even information has a time and place (and Zhongli being the (former) God of Contracts breaking a contract seems unlikely.) By then we'll at least have more power, if not the original power we saw in the prologue. We'll also have more of an idea of what we want to fight for as well, whether that's for Celestia, or the Abyss, or having our own faction to fight both. We could potentially have all the vision wielders we've acquired, even if I would rather some of them stay out of it.

He's such an interesting character, but it's easy to miss. I think he's often simplified by the players as the weak, goofy archon who's lazy and likes to drink, and just does whatever he feels like at any given moment. I mean, that's probably how he wants to be seen honestly, for whatever reason. It makes me even more excited for any future quests with Venti as an important character, because they're likely to be full of interesting lore and possibly information on Khaenri'ah, Celestia, and the Archon War.

One of the books found in the Dawn Winery claims that Venti's power originally came from the worship and faith that the Gunnhildr clan gave him when they called for help when they fled Decarabian and braved the cold...before he became an Archon. Mondstadt has a big religious following of nuns, a cathedral...he's being actively worshipped religiously and people have faith in him. Hearing that he's the weakest of the archons because he doesn't active rule his people...doesn't make sense? He has the faith and worship of his followers, just as any other archon.

Venti's info dump after the Dvalin quest contains lies about what he can and cannot talk about. Specifically he pretends he can't talk about "allogenes" and "gnoses" - which we know as words at least are not banned by Celestia's written contract. Of the three Archons that have been questioned so far their reactions are different according to their personalities, but they seem similar as to what the rules about the contract are. Venti pretends to tell the Traveler stuff that is banned, but in reality he is very careful not to cross the spirit of the contract. He seems afraid. Zhongli says he can't say anything and attempts to not cross the letter or spirit of the contract but in explaining how he can't say anything he's actually unwittingly one of the most informative of the three with negative information (for example he lets slip that the contract was written and was written ages before the Cataclysm). Ei tells us what she can and says there's more but she can't tell us. She appears to be straining to tell us the most she feels she can.

@NevarKanzaki2 жыл бұрын
A couple things made me extra suspicious of Venti. One is that his piece is the queen, usually the most powerful piece on the board. If he was the weakest, I'd have normally assigned him to be a knight as though the knight doesn't move as far, a knight is uninhibited in their movement, able to jump over other pieces. The second is that Venti shouldn't be the weakest by his own statement. Venti says that each archon presides over their own part of Teyvat. That is their role and that gives them power. Venti states that he doesn't really want to rule Monstadt but who says that the thing that each archon presides over is a physical area, exactly as opposed to the heavenly principle? Zhongli and Ei seem to place much more emphasis on the heavenly principle associated with them. If we gauge it by this measure, Venti is performing his role of keeping Monstadt free. When he does intervene, it is usually to keep Monstadt free. For example, knocking down the aristocracy is definitely an intervention but it is one with the definite result of breaking up a ruling group's iron fist. So doesn't this mean that Venti is performing his job extremely well in this way which would make him a very powerful archon by his own metric if treated as the others treat it? I think so. Note that Zhongli gives up being the god of Liyue but doesn't give up the idea of contracts. That stays. Raiden changes her perspective and already gave up the gnosis. So she seems to place her biggest focus on the heavenly principles.
@whatever39122 жыл бұрын
This is what I think. Venti’s strength lies in the freedom of his people. I would also suggest that power and strength are unrelated. Venti’s power is completely unknown because he masks it. Although he has shown himself to be incredibly strong historically, I think his power comes from the abstract concept of freedom, and his relation to the thousand winds. Ei was extraordinarily strong, but I don’t think she was powerful until the end of her story quest. She wasn’t actually ruling her people at all during her 500 year hiatus. She programmed the Shogun who carried out orders. Watatsumi never followed her rule, nor worshipped her. All of her feats of strength were done as a kagemusha as directed by Makoto.

Notice how when Venti calls himself the weakest among the Seven, he uses the present tense: "I haven't been back to Monstadt for an extended period of time. Without a doubt, I'm *now* the weakest archon among the Seven." That kind of implies that Venti must've been as strong as, or maybe even stronger, than the other older archons. We already know that Venti is powerful (he terraformed Mondstadt) and we wonder why it was so easy for Signora to optain Venti's gnosis right in front of the traveller (whose task according to Zhongli is to record the events). However, more interesting is the close relationship between time and wind, and their respective gods. Is it coincidence that our starting point is close to the nameless island, where we learn about the connection between time and wind, represented by Istaroth and Venti? Istaroth is sometimes called the omnipresent god, and the statue of the omnipresent god shows an amulet in the shape of an eye of the storm. From the Makoto arc we can assum a possible solution for Genshin Impact: "Eternity extends time into infinity. Dreams illuminate each moment within. When both shine in unison [...] finally free from the clutches of the Heavenly Principles". There are other pointers towards a solution in the dimension of time (Sibling: "We've always had enough time". Dainsleif: "Then the threads of all fate will be yours to reweave") Another thought: why was Venti absent from the face of the earth for extended periods of time, when both humans and Dvalin needed him? Was he in a different world line? What did he do there? And does he drink to remember, or to forget? Yes, all that could mean that Venti might play a more powerful role in the end game.

''we wonder why it was so easy for Signora to optain Venti's gnosis right in front of the traveller'' just my opinion but maybe because he's right infront of the cathedral and using his real powers will reveal to anyone that he's the anemo archon + fatui are all over inside mondstadt and there's a possibility that they will cause trouble for the citizens if he were to fight back + ofc he doesnt want to harm any of his people + he barely cares about gnosis and wants to completely cut off his ties with celestia + and maybe lowkey supports Tsaritsa's plan but he doesnt want to make it seem that he's willingly teaming up with them in fear of what might happened to mondstadt ''why was Venti absent from the face of the earth for extended periods of time'' for me i think this has something to do with controlling ''erosion'' so far zhongli and ei have mentioned about it while venti never did. maybe he wants to stay as long as possible with his people OR since unlike other Gods, Venti was originally only a wind spirit the size of a human palm so maybe using his powers tires him out and based on th emanga it seems he had no full control of ''sleeping'' since he mentioned how long did he sleep. so far i think venti slept twices for long periods of time, after he formed mondstadt he woke up around the slavery, fought durin during cataclysm and slept again and woke up during the dvalin crisis.

Hi Aster I just got done with a Sumeru comission and I don't know if you played it yet but it's a commission on a researcher named Yasmin asking us for help observing the state of the Divine Tree's roots. When we go to the roots, they look fine, but there are these big spiders there. This makes me CONVINCED that the Divine Tree is an Irminsul tree, and not just any Irminsul tree, an ancient one because in Albedo's voiceline he says that in truly ancient Irminsul trees, there are unique big spiders at the roots of them. And with Kusanali being connected to Irminsul, how can that be a coincidence? I theorize that the entire magical forest of Sumeru is a mirage and that the Divine Tree, with Kusanali's help, is maintaining this mirage so the people of Sumeru can enjoy this prosperous, beautiful forest. The reason Kusanali can't leave is because she must always be with the Divine Tree otherwise the mirage will dissipate, and she takes the power of people's dreams to keep it up, which is why adults don't remember Aranara, because they are beings of dream. It takes a lot of power to uphold the mirage, and when Aranara use great power, they get memory loss, which is why people lose the memory of Aranara. With the mirage gone, the once lush forest of Sumeru might be as desolate as Sumeru's desert region, or... possibly Sumeru in reality is actually The Withering, and only the power of dreams is keeping all life in Sumeru from dying at the hands of Marana. It's my theory that Sumeru became "The Withering" after the Cataclysm due to unknown events, perhaps from people knowing too much, then Kusanali was born and with the help of the Divine Tree made a mirage that returned Sumeru back to how it was, somewhat similar to what the Aranara did during the Cataclysm. We also learn from Aranara that if the Withering, if left unattended, could take over the entire world, not just Sumeru. So perhaps Kusanali isn't just protecting Sumeru's people, but also preventing it's spread. So in a way, it's not that the people of Sumeru don't dream, it's that they are living INSIDE a dream, or mirage. You might be skeptical that the power of people's dreams can really be that powerful, but if you really get into the lore and do all the side quests and Easter eggs buried in Sumeru(dealing with Alphonso "the bad guy" after we complete the aranara world quest comes to mind, when he talks about how Dottore found something truly magnificent to research on, that being aranara, dreams, the withering, etc. If you haven't done that yet I HIGHLY recommend it as it's truly amazing. After you complete the world quest, all you have to do is go back to Vimara Village and talk to Alphonso, all the shit goes down then, I cried.), you realize how powerful the dreams can really be. How else do Aranara, dreams, and the Withering really connect to one another? The cracks in the mirage where we see the Withering could be because of many things, like possibly experiments from the Academia and the Fatui, or there is just barely enough dreams sustaining the Mirage, or simply because it's hard making a mirage that large and sometimes cracks do form. I believe that's why people with visions, who have strong constitution and ambition(which I think translates to dreams) have a much higher resistance to it and can mend those cracks. That's why Dottore is so interested in this subject because he realizes how powerful this subject is. And as for us seeing him burning a tree in the trailer, perhaps my theory about the Divine Tree, dreams, Aranara, and The Withering helps me understand what he's doing. Since the Archon Kusanali is sustaining this mirage, perhaps what he's doing that is "blasphemy" is trying to destroy the mirage so the Withering returns in it's true form.
@ChillwithAster2 жыл бұрын
I havent done the quest yet but i'll keep this in mind! Thank you :D
@mittenvonscrufflears72332 жыл бұрын
@@ChillwithAster Yeah no problem! :D Actually now that I think about it another possible theory is it's less about using the power of dreams to sustain the mirage, but more the memories that come from Irminsul, who have recorded the old Sumeru in it's roots, with Kusanali bending that power to make the mirage as her conscious is connected to it. That could be another possible function for the mirage, either way it would explain why adults can't see Aranara because Aranara are also deeply connected with memories, too. I wonder how powerful Kusanali is. It's indicated that the more an archon like leads, or sort of has control over their nation, becomes more powerful. Since Kusanali helps pretty indirectly and hardly anyone worships Kusanali would she be weak for an archon or still powerful?

I think Venti is just a fun little guy at heart. That's who he wants to be, and so that's who he is. I don't think the projected weakness is a lie for deception purposes, I think it's a conscious rejection of power. He has seen what power can do over and over, earthly and godly. But the tragedy of power is that eventually it forces you to use it or lose it. I believe that Venti chose to lose it, just as much as Zhongli did. The supposed struggle was so when the Tsaritsa goes to war with Celestia Venti and Mondstadt look to be unwilling pawns and may be spared the wrath of heaven.

You could connect many many more dots when it comes to Venti. 1. The Wings of Shimmering Galaxy lore. He tells the whole story of how a bard with the power of music moved oceans, stones, stars and the skies. He makes it a point to make it be heard that he's not the poet in the story at first. But then ends the story with; you can believe the wind glider fell from the sky, or you can believe I am not the poet in the story- believe whichever you want. Like he lies, then hides the truth behind another lie and leaves it to the other person to figure out what they must. 2. Of course Dragonspine, and GAA have a boatload of Venti lore- but those are areas directly connected to him. What's more surprising is how Enkanomiya, and The Chasm- more than leaving tidbits about Archons of their respective regions, ends up dropping lore about Barbatos. Sort of hinting Venti might be an entity much more arcane, and was active for much longer than he claims. We also got a surprising amount of Venti hints in Sumeru Archon Quests, the Aranara Quest, AND even the Sumeru Wind Glider! 3. Out of the Archons so far, Venti is personally connected to the key players of Genshin's story. The Mondstadt crew includes; Khaen'rian royalty, Gold's proxy son, Delusion user/ fatui infiltrating Batman, Akademiya's smartest graduate. Let's not forget the most important person he's connected to: Alice! With Klee, Mona, and Albedo under his nose, he pretty much has access to the entire Hexenzirkel. I deslike Venti's overly femboy character design sm, it's such a shame he's one of my favorite characters story wise. T_T Venti's second story when Mihoyo? Dornman Port when Mihoyo? hi! can u elaborate or like give examples of the barbattos hints on the sumeru archon quest?
@ishtilodi2 жыл бұрын
@@nueskie Yes! The most obvious one is Nilou's dialogue about the importance of the arts to the gods of Sumeru. It goes something like this: "A long time ago, on one of Greater Lord Rukhadevata's birthdays her friends threw her a banquet. Some of the gods got drunk. One started playing music and the Greater Lord started singing, so the Goddess of Flowers began to dance." The one drunk god who started playing music, could be Barbatos. Current Sumeru looks down on the arts, because it distracts from the strict pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. So far the only archon associated with the arts is Barbatos. This could also be me reading into it, but, Nahida being symbolized as a caged bird throughout the archon quest, parallels Barbatos's friend the Nameless Bard and the whole fall of Decarabian story. I will update this thread once I have access to my computer so I can compile all the hints throughout the archon quest. Update 1: The end of the Archon quest, Katheryne tells the traveler that even if the end of the journey doesn't turn out as the Traveler expected, what matters is the experience of the journey itself. Paimon points out how they've just heard the phrase not too long ago. Because that line is a paraphrased version of what Venti tells the Traveler through the dococom at the end of 2.8 (which was the patch immediately before 3.0 + Nahida's introduction). 2. It's also funny how Venti just happens to send us on an adventure that has to do with the overarching plot of the next patch, as if to send us on a trial run before the thing actually happens. He "loses" his gnosis to the same person who Zhongli is contracted to give his gnosis to. Personally imparts just enough knowledge about visions, harbingers, and archons. As well as entry level info about Liyue's culture. GAA 1. Dodoco being a parallel for visions, and Magu Kenki for The shogun puppet. Dodoking claims Klee is not worthy of Dodoco and must challenge Dodoking and return it. When they reach the GAA, we fight an Inazuman puppet assumed to be Dodoking. But it wasn't the Dodoking, it was Magu Kenki left alone on those islands. We learn through the conches and shipwrecks about Ako Domeki's fleet. Which happens to show us an earlier iteration of the Inazuman civil war between the shogunate and the resistance. GAA 2. We run through the dreams of our friends, and loop through them to help our friends reconcile with their inner turmoil's. We have the beats of Growth, Arts, Dreams, and Truth. Which are ultimately the four beats of the Sumeru archon quest Act 1-2. What I would like to bring attention to here is the end of domain cutscenes for each of the four we bring to the GAA. Kazuha following the voice in a breeze to live as a wonderer, Xinyan dedicating her song to the creator of the islands, Fischl accepting the world of imagination is her domain of freedom, and Mona telling us about a wise invisible bird that was never noticed or appreciated but sung from the sky regardless. In hindsight they may be more about Venti trying to tell us about Nahida through the aforementioned characters. *sends you on vacation* *refuses to elaborate further* *leaves* *cool thing you learned during vacation comes in handy 1 patch later* -Gigachad femboy Venti. I theorize Venti may in fact have access to the past, present, and future.

I think it has been said that when Grand Master Varka left for his “Voyage” he took all the cavalry and most of the knights. I think that’s the reason why mond’s struggling to defend itself. (I could be wrong though)

I think this is the perfect place to finally post my 13 Sus Things About Venti/Lesser-known facts about Venti. Also, Aster already covered most of it in this video. 1. When he first rose to power, he blew all the ice and snow that covered Mondstadt away with his winds, reshaping the entire nation. 2. Musk Reef used to be the tallest mountain in Mondstadt, Pilos Peak. But Venti sliced the majority of it off, and now it’s a small island that anyone can easily reach the "peak" of. 3. Several islands in the Golden Apple Archipelago are the result of Venti’s reshaping of the land of Mondstadt. This was first confirmed by Albedo in the original 1.6 event, and now again by a squirrel in 2.8. 4. He’s infamous for his century-long slumbers. It is not known whether this is out of his free will or forced, nor why. Some theories are that he may wake up whenever danger threatens Mondstadt, or this may be his method of avoiding erosion. 5. This is probably more commonly known than the rest since it is explained explicitly in Venti’s Story Quest. 2600 years ago, Old Mondstadt was ruled by a tyrant called Decarabian, The God of Storms. Back then, Venti was simply a wind spirit, just “a wisp in the thousand winds”. His form was that of a small floating creature, and he was called “The Elf” by the people of Old Mondstadt. He was friends with a boy, a bard who wished to see the real sky and all that comes with it, because Decarabian had blocked the city with storm-walls, believing that he was protecting his citizens when really, he was trapping them. The boy and the wind spirit, as well as many others of Old Mondstadt, rebelled against Decarabian, and though they were victorious in the end, the boy’s life was lost. The wind spirit and Boreas/Andrius were the only worthy candidates for the new god of Mondstadt, and Boreas refused the position. So the wind spirit ascended to godhood not long after, and the first thing he did as a god was to take on his friend’s appearance to forever remember and honor him. And that is the same form we see him in today. The wind spirit gained power during the rebellion because the people believed in him, and that’s why he was worthy to be the new god of Mondstadt. Venti became a bard in honor of his friend as well, and made his friend’s hopes, dreams, and wishes his own. It is theorized that the reason why Venti is an alcoholic is because of the loss of his dear friend. 6. In the manga, when Vennessa asked Venti about Celestia, he is visibly seen to be scared and nervous and thought of dark figures. He immediately tries to change the subject. In addition, when Vennessa asked him if ascending to Celestia would make someone a god, he told her legends from our world, saying them as if they were warnings. When Vennessa arrived in Celestia, she gasped as she saw what seemed to be a prison. In Venti’s About Celestia voice line, he said he wouldn’t go there even if he were invited. The inscription at the bottom of the Barbatos Statue in the main plaza of Mondstadt reads “THE GATEWAY TO CELESTIA.” 7. Zhongli used to throw mountains at Venti. In Venti’s voice line About Zhongli, he was heard to be a little scared of him and asked if he was still strong. In the Serenitea Pot Item Boulder description, it reads something akin to “Perhaps you should ask the Anemo Archon. He has some experience dodging large structures of stone, after all.” He also called him a “big, blundering buffoon.” 8. Venti once poured wine on Zhongli’s head when he was drunk, as shown in the item description of “Wings of Shimmering Galaxy”. Zhongli told him he’d be very, very mad if that ever happened again. 9. Venti saved Xiao once. Xiao was overwhelmed by the karma that gathers on him whenever he kills monsters, which is his duty to protect Liyue from evil. It filled him with pain, agony, and hatred. He was on the brink of death - that is, till he heard the pure, clear sound of a flute. It saved him, and Xiao knew only a god could do such a feat. Since Barbatos is also known to be a bard in mortal form, and may even be the God of Song, Xiao correctly concluded that Venti was the one who saved him. Since then, Xiao's only wish has been to dance in the field of flowers to the sound of that flute. 10. Venti likes singing songs about Barbatos that many find blasphemous. One such song was about the time the Anemo Archon stole The Cryo Archon's Scepter and replaced it with a hilichurl club. Whenever anyone confronts him about it, though, he simply smiles and asks "How do you know they're not true?" And, in actuality, yes, they are fake. He just makes it up, especially after having a drink. 11. The God of Time, Istaroth, used to rule over Mondstadt with Venti, the God of Wind. But over time, the God of Time disappeared and was forgotten, like she had been erased from history. No one knows what happened to her, but sayings like “Seeds of stories, brought by the wind and cultivated by time.” developed from their time ruling together. Venti also once said he knew all songs in Teyvat from the past, present, and future. This can be taken as a joke or hyperbole, but if he were telling the truth, then that would mean he has power over time, to an extent. 12. Venti seems to have met the traveler before. In his “Hello” voice line, he says “Traveler! We meet again! What? You don’t remember me?” This could mean many things. They could’ve met 500 years ago during the Cataclysm, or he might simply be talking about the first time we know we see him - which is when he talked to Dvalin. Maybe he’s talking about our twin, or maybe there’s a totally unrelated explanation for it. Whatever the case, at least, at first sight, this is an intriguing line. 13. A group of soldiers working for the Lawrence Clan found a contract with the signature of Rex Lapis, which read that the Lawrence Clan had basically enslaved the whole of Mondstadt to Liyue. Scared, they and many more that followed turned against the Lawrence Clan, and overthrew them. Funnily enough, the contract was fake, merely a tactic used by Venti to win the rebellion, and he had faked Rex Lapis's signature, so perfectly no one would ever be able to tell it apart from the real deal. How? Well, he had a history of trying to prank said Geo Archon and forged his signature so much it was practically easy by that time. Turns out, that came in handy. Funny how a history of pranks helped overthrow tyrants.

(spoiler for the Nahida quest) I just realised Venti could have the power to prevent certain parts of history from being "deleted" just like in Nahida's lullaby/story about Scaramouche. he hides his stories in ballads and songs which could also be a way of hiding information from the Irminsul and maybe it is for him as well if something like that were to happen. it would make sense if he was close to the goddess of time, he perhaps knew about the dangers of certain parts of history being deleted from everyone's memories and perhaps he knows things no one else does.

@@azaleanguyen2403 "The Parable of the Tree" The king's gardener and the tree spirit of the royal garden were in love. But the king wished to repair the beams of his pavilion, and so needed to cut down the tree with the most spiritual energy within it. The king was the incarnation of the Primordial One, and the gardener could not defy the sovereign of sovereigns, and so he could only bring his plea to the king's priest, who was the incarnation of Tokoyo Ookami. The priest had pity on the gardener and said to him: "Go, and cut the branches of the spirit-tree down." The gardener did so, and afterward did as the king ordered, cutting the spirit-tree itself down. Then the priest said: "Plant the spirit-tree's branches in the ground." But the gardener said: "A spirit-tree shall take five hundred years to grow." The priest said: "Your one thought shall echo through eternity." And so the gardener planted the branches in his back yard. In an instant, the slim branches grow into a new tree, and the new tree spirit was a continuation of the past one. For it is the God of Moments who is able to take "seeds" from this "moment" into the past and the future. genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/The_Byakuyakoku_Collection#Vol._2

Yeah ever since that "Weakest Archon" dialogue, I began to see him as an unreliable narrator intentionally dodging selective information with comedic humility to keep others from being worried or thinking too hard on the topic. Because I find it out of character for him to be napping for years while Dvalin suffered, my theory is that he was also affected by the poison, forcing him to slumber while expanding a lot of his power to dispel it. As similar case to Goumba.

Would be funny if being the "one thousand winds" he's actually related to the God of the Time. And since Dain talks about the Traveler controlling the threads of Fate, let's imagine Traveler did a "bad ending" so time resets and there's that Venti introduction about meeting traveler again and try to subtle guide traveler so he does the right choice hahaha that would be funny idk what movie i remember it was like this but honestly i still think that big venti statue looks like a giant clock around it and the time and wind is not only sus but last festival he even spoke about "Stories brought on the wind will bloom into legends in due time." and the only archon atm to not have a part 2 quest its him whiich makes me think his story is really integrated into the main plot or could dwell into these themes but thats my crack pot theory.
