My Black Hunter recurve had a limb delaminate and break after a couple years of regular use. A couple weeks after the Black Hunter broke I ordered an RD Bones from you guys. The RD Bones is a beautiful and enjoyable bow. Since then, I also drank the koolaid on Mongolian "horse" bows and I've really been enjoying them. One of my Mongolian bows has a Shatterproof string on it. I ordered the bowstring from you at 47.25 inches and basically assumed you would round down to 47 or up to 47.5. Nope, the bowstring I received was exactly 47.25" and it fit the bow perfectly. Thanks guys!

Hey, Mick from Australia here. I have been watching you ( Kramer ) since I started my Archery obsession about 4 yrs ago. Your growth has run parallel to mine and I have really benefitted from your user-friendly advice. Over the past 4 yrs I have purchased at least 25 Bows....16 for me and the rest for others I have evangelized into Archery. With so many bows to set-up I reckon I have got pretty good at figuring out things like the best brace height, best nocking height and appropriate arrows. Also, how to make and fit good string silencers and limb pads. You are absolutely correct about Chinese Bows being a bit of a lottery when it comes to quality and being within specs. I have had to get replacements quite a few times but luckily the Chinese seem very good at just sucking it up and sending a replacement or refund if that's what you want. A few of the bows have been from Korea and even some from Italy ....they seem to be on the mark though. What I do ( for free ) is to help facilitate my friends by navigating the websites, buying and then SETTING-UP the bows for them, because it would take forever to teach them how to do it and that would probably put them off. What you are offering makes terrific sense and good-on you for helping starters in that way. I have watched many of your reviews of Black Hunters and I remember you commenting just HOW GOOD they are, and especially for the very low price. Many other experienced Archers say the same thing....and especially if you know how to tweak the minor faults. Cheers Mick

Thanks for this video. I bought one of the Top Archery bows that is like the Black Hunter bow. I learned from your video what length of flemish twist you recommend. I just bought a twist string and took off the stock string. I twisted my string to 57.25 inches. The bow has 7.5 brace height now. The factory string was not great and gave almost 9 inch brace height. My bow was also heavier than the 35 lbs that I ordered. Thanks again!

for F171 blackhunter buy direct from Junxing, AME and/or Mandarin Duck - poundage never wrong.. and if u are buying only limbs, make sure its for 15" riser and not 17", coz there r lotsa copies that look like blackhunter but are actually for 17" Red Phoenix.. be familiar with the chinese bow market and u won't get it wrong..
@josephtreadlightly56864 ай бұрын
Junxing has some very nice aluminum risers & with very good limbs & a quality D-97 custom string like Shatterproof Archery makes u can expect a very high quality shooting. The one I have comes with a nice piece that mounts to 😅the riser so u can shoot off the shelf. But with my arrow tuning I've found that a flipper rest mounted to the riser with no shelf gives you a much better bare shaft tune.

I don't want another riser. I have a Black Hunter, w 30lb and 45lb limbs. Something has happened to the 45lb limbs over last winter and they're no longer in alignment. I haven't looked at warranty yet but am certain tis long past done. What I'd like is a string kil, and a set of limbs, that can take 30 and 50 lb limbs. Maybe a silencer kit is a better name: stfing, string and limb silencers and rests. I bought it after watching multiple positive reviews, but you introduced me to it. I'm currently curing several different woods for attempts at bows. Successfully made a cedar riser for fiberglass limbs, using the pattern in Clay Hayes book that you turned me on to. Thanks for inspiring this semicrippled old man to pick-up his old hobby again!

This is the wrong bow, you've got the copy from TopArchery. The one that everyone loved was the Junxing F171(recurve) and F172(longbow), also sold as the Mandarin Duck Black Hunter. They have bamboo core and American Gordon glass limbs. The TopArchery one is maple core and cheaper chinese glass.

I have just received mine that I ordered direct from Mandarin Duck. There is not a SINGLE marking ANYWHERE on the bow, not even a trade name. I bought a light 30# bow with the intention of using it to nurse back a shoulder injury. I've shot a lot of traditional bows over the years and I can tell you that this bow is nowhere near 30#. I've got to weigh it just to be certain of what I've got here, but it feels more like a 45# bow. Since there are no markings on the bow, I have no weight to compare it to. Also, I ordered the MK 2, newer version of this bow. The limbs are cut different where the bolt hole is on the newer version. They sent me the original version and the limbs are cut different from the different newer version. I am not a happy camper with the cheap chinese quality control.
@mrnice7524 ай бұрын
@@roncrawford7128 Mandarin Duck is a European reseller, they don't make anything just import products and put their branding on it. If they sent you the wrong poundage bow it has nothing to do with the manufacturer. Edit to add: Also the original was better than the mark 2, so you got lucky. They changed the limbs to make them ambidextrous and cheaper to make.

WHOA! Did you measure the bow weight, and mark it with a new weight, based on the string it came with. Then shipped it with a longer string? That means the bow they get, with the longer string will be a a different weight than the one marked. Granted it will be closer than random, but it still seems odd.

Shatterproof archery, please never state any extreme claims against your competitors, unless you are willing to explain everything involved. FUNNY HOW ZERO CHINESE IMPORTS OR MANUFACTURERS EVER COMPLAIN ABOUT AMERICAN MADE ARROWS OR BOWS. YET THEY EQUAL THE QUALITY IN MANY CASES AND GROWING. EXAMPLE: DRAGON 8,9,10 ARROWS. TOP QUALITY. ALMOST ZERO AMERICAN MADE ARROWS ARE BETTER AT ALL. YET THE AMERICAN BRANDS ARE 2 TO 5 TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE. THIS IS HILARIOUS, TO SAY THE LEAST.

The BH is likely the best bang for your buck in trad bows.
