That cold brew hack🙌🏽

I live in North Carolina and I would say here in the South, cold brew and iced coffee has become a major commodity in the last couple of decades. People are crazy over it. And I’m sure the cold brews would sell like crazy in the warmer months. I am interested in trying this method for sure, being a coffee connoisseur myself. My favorite coffee is fresh drip or pour over, but when I have made a cold brew previously, then warmed it the next day, it was very smooth and flavorful, albeit without the acidic bite of a fresh brew. Thank you for sharing your work with all of us!

For the hot chocolates are you using a water and cocoa mix recipe or milk and chocolate bars/syrup? Trying to figure out the best tasting option for serving a large crowd.

I use cocoa/water for large crowds. Trying to heat milk in large pots, you will inevitably burn the bottom of your pan, no matter how much mixing you do and thus ruin your chocolate. As much as I like milk based hot choc. I have not figured out how to serve it to large crowds....

Hey Leo, I have some other videos on the channel with round-about numbers. You'll have to do a little digging. Or if you want exact numbers, I have ebook to help with that for $5. Just depends how serious you are in this phase of your journey: greenjoecoffeetruck.com/products/coffee-truck-course-know-the-cost

Do I need to know what the whites are or do I need to know what the voltage is when purchasing a generator for my coffee truck I’m currently am looking at the Electra tea one from first line on the wattage is 110 and the voltage is 2200 Do I add all the wattage of the voltage up and then see you but the number is and then purchase the machine based on that number should I go above the number I’m confused

Until you hit 50 drinks per day it's a one man show. Even after thatI can usually handle about 100 cups per day by myself. I'm in the US. Min wage here (ABQ) is $8.50 but I pay my barista 12$/hour unless it's odd movie set hours, in which I bump them to $20/hour...big events I'll need a runner (fetch water and other supplies). Those are usually high school kids and I pay them $9/hour.

So winter months the most profitable? Covers you “offseason?”
@GreenJoeCoffeeTruck
@GreenJoeCoffeeTruck 4 жыл бұрын
You would think so...and I did too! But that's not the case. The summer months are better for us and the reason why: Foot Traffic. Although, people like hot drinks during the winter, they enjoy them from the comfort of their home. During the summer months, I simply see more people, which equates to greater sales...plus during the summer months, I will set up multiple booths at the same time and host coffee for 3-4 events on the same day using my cold brew latte technique (see ebook) . This allows me to hit 3-4 events at $300-$500 each, making each weekend a $2-3k weekend. Those opportunities simply don't happen during the winter months...

Not trying to be a snob, but the stuff you're describing - reheating cold brew, etc, I can't see working in Australia. We have a generally high expectation of baristas/coffee/beans, i.e. if you're not doing expresso, with decent beans, it's like: "so wth are we paying you for"!? (I.e. we've got expresso machines even in McDonalds here, yano?). The hot choc scenarios could work for sure, but anything coffee related, I can't see working (or you'd never be called back). Do you think it works in US bcoz ppl are accustomed to reheated drip coffee? 🤢 (My sense is we'd only accept that if in an office or similar environment, not if bought).

The reheating cold brew technique works really good for festivals, which allows me to hand out samples. And it’s really the flavor the draws people in. When you get a chance, download my starter guide and try that recipe for the cold brew. It’s a pretty damn good cup of coffee. But ultimately, if you wanted to test the theory on whether or not your audience would take to it. Try it out. Brew up a batch and sample, see if people take to it. Because it’s not a norm here in the United States, it’s just some thing I tried and found that it worked!
