Because Comptia gives you the basic training. Basic IT training…. CC stop doing basic IT in 2020. You’ll have to jump straight to CCNA the CCNP. So for me I’ll have to get my IT fundamentals elsewhere then come back for the CCNA I believe 😅

@@SheCraveJhay that’s a totally fine too. Just understand from an employer perspective the CCNA is fundamentals. The reason we added a lot of labs after the CCNA is the CCNA is too junior for the real world. You can view the Comptia as “pre fundamentals”. And that’s fine too. It’s totally fine to do the pre-fundamentals for a year and then another year of fundamentals like we suggested. We just like to get people hired and earning faster. And if one can be ready for work sooner they earn more. That’s always our basis for recommendations. How do we get someone hired faster and paid more. But there are many approaches that work.

@@GoCloudArchitectsI'm seeing all sorts of entry level helpdesk roles requiring A+ and nothing more, which is great, but the big question for me is whether it's realistic to actually make a career out of a helpdesk role and certs when every single specialization seems to require a PhD in cybersec, which is fiscally unattainable for me. Some videos like this suggest yes, while many first hand accounts say if you don't have a PhD, you're not useful in a specialization.

@@ryanbanister4181 If someone wants to work in help desk that’s fine. Some people like that type of role and that’s great. But help desk is not a career I would recommend unless someone desired that type of role. As it has relatively low pay and limited career upside compared to other roles. And as a career architect we want to look at what each role can do for us, our growth and our professional brand in our careers. There are better roles in tech for building careers. Personally have taught and coached people how to become cloud engineers, cloud architects, network architects, network engineers and enterprise architect as their first job. As there is no such thing as an entry level job. Only entry level skills. In tech degrees generally don’t matter. It’s skills that matter most so it’s a matter of picking the exact career you desire and focusing all your efforts learning that specific role. You know very well not all networks use Cisco equipment. Idk in what world you get Cisco certified before an N+.

The gear manufacturer has no bearing on the value of the CCNA and CCMP The networking concepts in the CCNA, CCNP and CCIE are universal Meeting they work on all vendors gear. It’s not the CCNA commands that matter is the concepts. It’s the reason after my CCIE I worked on a gear that was not Cisco I have interviewed at least 500 people with a network + and no a single person had enough knowledge to be hireable So I recommend either skipping the network+ Or if someone wants to do the network+ immediately, after do some other training.

One thing to note. Building a PC can become a lifelong addiction. Ive built 3 (and modified another) since i started 2 years ago. My wallet weeps.
