Not a matter of “if” but rather “when” because it looks like they’re making strides but take keep taking steps back especially in the post season.

@@lebronshairline3062 wtf are you talking about? Avalanche went on to win the cup, so did Vegas. We were goalied in both series we lost, geriatric smith (jokingly), and a rookie in skinner and I think if there was more juggling and we saw more campbell (he did help oilers win 2 of those games) we may have even beat Vegas, don't get me wrong Smith did more than his job, and so did Skinner, they played like hell, but it wasn't enough and Kuemper and Adan Hill both had breakout seasons with .90 and .93 respectively!! Smith had .876 and skinner had .883, it was closer than your comment lets on.

@@exhellification Either way they’re not going to win the cup, without a legit goalie. They should make a play for Carter Hart or John Gibson, they have 3.5 million of cap space left. They should really think of a package around Broberg, picks, and a good roster player for one of those goalies.

I don't think the question is "do they stay," I think it's "how much will it cost?"

Not saying they won’t get paid but I think they will take discounts Connor might just resign at 13-14 and Leon will get a raise at probably the same 13-14 because Leon is like the same as Connor it’s scary. I can’t see any of them making 20 million that’s insane. If they both sign at 15 million 8 years that’s only 30 million on Edmontons books but it’s a fair deal for what they get in return.

This may sound super bias but I follow the oilers very close and what I can see out of those two 97 29 is they seem very happy in Edmonton. They feel good about the team and management. This is probably the happiest I’ve seen Connor he looked miserable when PC was running things. They have a good coach a good manager and now a good president of operations. They are seeing successes and players are begging to play here Kane , Hyman are two players that decided to play here Kane took a discount. All I can say is 97 and 29 are like stuck together if Connor goes Leon will probably follow if one stays the other will as well. I don’t know why every year we have this conversation but it’s getting old.

McDavid and Draisaitl have restrictions on the ability of the Oilers to trade them: the former, a full-blown no-move clause (the same one AM34, Marner and Tavares have with the Leafs); the latter, a modified no-trade clause. Whether either will sign an extension with the Oilers remains still TBD. Just in the past few months there's been talk of: - Connor Hellebuyck wanting to leave the Jets after his contract expires next June - ditto for various Flames' players whose contracts expire during the same month as Hellebuyck's with the Jets (with a recent Locked On Sharks' episode titled "State of the Franchise: The Calgary Flames. Is It A Reload Or A Rebuild?")

I hate the oilers, I hate their fans and I hate the city and as a winnipegger, that's saying something. That being said #97 will 100% stay, guys like him are wired to stay and try to win a cup with the team that drafted them to cement their legacy in said city. Leon is 100% going to a team that will make him the face of the franchise. FFS, imagine being as good as he is and your referred to as McDrai when he can just be Drai in another city and cement his own legacy.
