I live in suburban Denver,Colorado USA, and just yesterday was notified by R&M that my production date is this week! We are fortunate to have 2 R&M dealers in the area. I test rode various models and as a Grandad of 5, decided the Dual-battery Homage with GX option and dropper post was exactly the bike for me! I opted for the vario hub for even lower maintenance, and the ability to shift even without the battery. This review is great fun… thanks for posting!

Damn straight! We think the stigma is very much gone now with electric bikes being associated with older folk. The Homage is almost like a bat-mobile isn't it!

I'm a Grandad and have two step through ebikes, so what, they are easier to get on & off. Saw one being bought a couple of weeks ago by some one of similar age who confessed he couldn't get his leg over any more. ;)

Hey! I've just bought this bike from you guys. ABS wasn't an option I have to say. I asked for it, but not available. No worries, I'm happy with what I bought. Expensive enough!
@FullychargedUK2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info, David and welcome to the Fully Charged family. Interesting point you raise. We wouldn't necessarily recommend the old ABS, which was fitted on the headset. However, the new ABS that was released from Bosch in July of this year, and is fitted on the front forks, is smaller, cleaner and provides ample stopping power, although the brakes on a Homage are MORE than enough, already! Looking forward to supplying your bike to you.

Expensive, overly luxurious and some unnecessary features but that’s why you buy a Rolls Royce 👍. Not sure if it’s just me but whilst this bike has every latest goodie one could wish for, the thing I love most is that seat post which is AWESOME😎

29 kilos? I have a 7 year old Koga step through ebike that weighs 23 kilos, and that's a pain. If they did this with a titanium frame, or in carbon fibre, and charged more, but ditched 10 kilos, it would be fabulous. I'm in my 60's, living in London, so probably the target market distilled; my shortlist for a replacement for my bike starts with the Ribble hybrid AL e step through fully loaded, around £3000 with a spare battery, which at 15 kilos is about half of the weight of the Homage.
@tanastaling3 жыл бұрын
I drive the Homage 2019 with dual battery for more than two years now. You are right: the weight is the biggest disadvantage. But reducing the weight would raise the price even higher. You have to decide what is more important to you: having a super bike like the Homage or compromise with a smaller one, e. g. the Tinker. For my profile there is no real alternative for a full-suspension, step-through eBike on the market at the moment.
@greigs93843 жыл бұрын
They’re not manufactured only for older people, but they’re certainly for people with high salaries, as they’re over £6000 a go.
@FullychargedUK3 жыл бұрын
Hi Greig thanks for reaching out! It does really depend on the eBike. We do, to be fair, offer premium eBikes but there are many electric bikes on the market for a very competitive price. Our eBikes start at £2,000 but you can find some for a lower price, too. Wishing you the best and hope to see you out on a bike this summer!

I’ve had several E Bikes over the last ten years and I could have saved A LOT of money if I bought high end right from the start. Now I’ve ordered a Superdelite Rohloff. Over 9000 €. A huge amount for me, a waitress. My bike is my only transportation tool, so it has to be first class and if someone asks me how much I paid? I’ll answer: „20 cents per 100 kilometres“😘

I am surprised that there is no license plate required for HS ebike, in UK (fork reflectors and tail light show that this is a HS bike). Impressive bike handling !
@FullychargedUK3 жыл бұрын
Great observation, but Riese and Muller go above and beyond by offering brake lights on some non hi-speed models also, as in this case. This Homage, like others In the Riese and Muller lineup is also available in a hi-speed (HS) model, but will come with a bracket to affix a registration plate (plus electric horn, rear-facing mirror etc). Unfortunately in the UK, this means a full- size motorcycle style number plate... but let’s hope we catch up with the continent eventually and create a proper class and suitably sized reg plate.
@marcb12893 жыл бұрын
@@FullychargedUK I have the Homage 2021 Rohloff, with brake lights, and it has no protuberant rear light (with room underneath for a plate), and reflectors on fork are facing traffic. About constraints for HS e bikes, it seems that they are similar in France, where they are considered as moped. So associated plate, insurance and helmet (motorbike helmet !) are mandatory. That remove nearly all interrest from this kind of bikes, which are very rare.

Keep it for the price, Day light robbery, I just seen one for 8 grand like this one, Yeah thats utter robbery, I could build a bike with better specifications for a quarter of that 8 grand, Its hard enough just the cost of living let alone grands on grands for an E-bike, Also why is it Germany is building bikes like this an not the UK, E-bikes is the future thats a surety, But charging grands for something that dont cost grands to make, Bosh motor or not.... I will always do my own E-bike conversion an will never buy a pre-made E-bike, Anything goes wrong i can fix it, My next build will be a downhill frame tho..... Yeah im amazed people actually spends 8 grand or even 6 grand for an E-bike, Its beyond me im soz too say......
