THAT SHOE WALL THO! The Fanny Pack / Sling bag has always been useful in Asia and was still prevalent before coming back to the states. For us, MORE functional than fashion. Agreed to all the reasons your provide. Especially flying and going through the airport, you can have your passport, wallet, phone, and so many things you need right on your chest. I think also one of the first use of this during those days were tennis players put tennis balls there. I work in health care and I have 5 fanny pack, for convenient access to my phone, small hand moisturizer, pens, reading glasses, my other companions are realizing it’s functionality and are getting one for themselves 😇

Convenience over fashion when traveling. Also, depends how you carry them. I don’t think this thing will go away as fast as it did in the 80’s because it can be worn as a sling bag. Ideal for travelers especially to places with lots of pick pockets like Paris and Italy.

I completely agree that they are extremely practical, I just can’t imagine myself strapping one of those things around my waist everywhere I went!! I feel like I would just carry a lot more stuff than I ever need. Do you find yourself carrying more things than you need just because it’s so easy?

Surprisingly no, and I think because at least for me, I wear them for very specific situations - main example is that I wear this to amusement parks, where it’s very handy to have small extra things like chapstick, water bottle. Great question 🙂 thx for stopping by brad!

I just got a fanny pack diaper bag, and I am so excited. Girls done get pockets big enough to carry their phone, let alone anything else. So this will be nice when it with my kids at parks etc. Now I can carry my phone, keys, wipes, hand sanitizer, snacks, and even an extra diaper if needed. I haven't used it yet, but so excited. It's the Kibou minimalist diaper bag. Fashion or not, they sure are useful.

I just got a black one for an X mas gift. I'm not sure if I'm a fanny pack guy yet. I tried it on and it looks kinda cool on my waist but on my left side. As a lady, I can guarantee that a fanny pack won’t take away from your masculine appearance. Especially if worn across the body. I live in Europe, and so many guys wear them like this (others wear them around the waist, which can actually look cool if you choose a model that’s minimal, such as a sports one with an elastic strap). Each time I see a guy with a “man bag”, I cringe. But if I see a guy with a fanny pack (regardless of how he’s wearing it), it looks totally fine to me.

I own a Fanny pack with a lot of compartments for my keys, wallet, smartphone, weapon of choice & documents. It's comfortable, no way bulky or protrudes out. Very fashionable & functional especially when I wear my joggers or my favorite sweatpants that have zero pockets. I always wear the pack on my waist facing in front of me.

Yooo I had a TNF Recon backpack for 8 years! So much nostalgia when you held it up hahaha but I think that fanny packs definitely have a place in fashion today. I personally don't own any because I feel like if i wanted to bring more stuff with me, I would just carry a backpack or a leather bag, but I definitely respect when people incorporate them into their outfits. Definitely fashionable bro. But tbh I think the ones you have are too large to wear in front, definitely over the back. I got a Vans camo one and it’s perfect to keep my wallet, phone, keys, etc. I honestly don’t really wear it for style, like you said it bulges out of my pockets. The funny thing is, I’ve seen bodybuilders wear them, but not like the old school way, but over the shoulder and in front. Fresh af. Great video.

I happen to have a fanny pack with 2 mini pockets on the front so I can keep both dollars and quarters separately, because I get anxiety with holding up the line when making a transaction and dont have to keep digging through my wallet.

CLFurlong a lot of decent ones shouldn’t cost more than $15-20 USD :) for the streetwear ones. I see you wear one in your videos though! And you wear it in front of your body haha. Does it feel better for you in front versus wearing it behind when you go running?

kickitwithdang the one I am wearing is actually not one - it is a hydration belt / running belt specifically made for running and have material to avoid bounce. It feels great out front but it is not something to compare to the fanny pack. Thanks for answering

I have 2 actually: 1. A flimsy cheap give away from a tourist company. comes in handy when I wear it around my waist while at comic conventions and it hides under my costume 2. A leather one that came free with my phone shoulder holster from LD West. I use that a lot and comes in handy when wearing pants that either don't have pockets or the pockets don't feel secure. Only contents I keep in are wallet, loose change and keys. I have a separate bag just for electronics, like a bluetooth speaker, and a power bank in case I need to charge a phone.

What's the best TNF backpack in terms of function and style? Right now i always wear my 3 years old kenzo backpack and the latest backpack i bought was the kanken raven model,both of them are stylish but can't really accompany me when i want to travel

There’s so many backpacks in the market that it’s hard to answer that question haha. I think it really depends on what kind of traveler you are, what kind of stuff you’ll be wanting to carry, etc. My main travel backpack is the Osprey fairview , which I made a video on it sometime ago. It’s not the most stylish, but it is VERY functional for my needs. There are other bags with particular emphases, for example “bags for a sneakerheads”, “bags for a photographer”, “bags for hiking”, etc. I’d be more than happy to help you out if you have more input on what exactly you’re looking for.
