Legit, was checking out these 5/10 yellow jacket prime blues. Went back yesterday to buy them. WHAM 90$ plus a discount coupon I had for 82$. Can't wait for them to get in to the store.

Odd.. cause I have the freerider pros and vans as well.. the vans grip but they are too flexible to keep grip on the pedals well. I honestly haven't had a better shoe when it comes to grip than the 5tens. It's said a bunch because it's true. Go to a lift access bike park, where you have to have your heels down and there are lots of breaking bumps, jumps, etc. That's why I feel unsafe and they kick off the pedals too much in my vans. I feel glued to them on the 5 tens. I mean riding around the neighborhood, skatepark, local smaller trials the vans feel great, they flex, are comfortable etc.. but yeah, once you get into real mountain biking trails at speed I'm not trusting a crash to the vans.

Nice review, I ride with a pair of Merrell Speed MOAB boots, they are pretty lightweight and very comfortable and making carrying my bike up hills much easier since they have tons of grip. The gore-tex on them is nice since I end up in marshes and wet conditions. It kind of seems like “riding” shoes are a marketing thing to make money off mountain bikers.

Do you guys think that Five Tens are worth it? Do you want a pair?
@Adam-xo7cv3 жыл бұрын
I love my Five Tens, but I also got them for half price. Not sure I would pay $150+ for a pair of shoes. They do transfer power to the pedals more efficiently, and are so grippy I can keep applying force during half of the upstroke by pulling back with my leg/foot. And I do stay more planted when going down crazy hills. Now that I think about it, maybe I would pay $150....they do last a long time. And that pretty much costs about the same as a set of tires.

@@Adam-xo7cv I'd only get them on sale. I never pay $150 on shoes if I didn't have to. MTB shoes are pretty expensive.

And this is just the primeblues. XD the regular ones are arguably better
