Ahhh…I’ve been waiting for this one, Chuck.! No vanity in this person..555 Rola’ s mom really enjoys seeing her daughter on the U Tube scene. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. As to the city, Phitsanulok…most Thai businesses, the Big C , Makro, and others like the Black Canyon and Sizzler are very very attentive to Falangs. There is not a big concentration of foreigners here and there is a great immigration office that answers all our needs quite efficiently. Plus the Saint Nicholas School with its English Programe complimented by Oxford International Curriculum May be said to be one of the best international schools in the nation. Shhh..😊 So it’s a great town to live in imho. And…as always, it’s nice to spend sometime with Chuck and Paige every chance we get. Thanks for thinking about us on your way thru. 😊😊😊

My wife's brother lived in Phitsanulok . I found it to be a v ery welcoming place. I am still Facebook friends with a lady who has a beauty shop there. Her nephew and his wife have owned a bar there for a little over a year. The Temple in town is famous for its Buddha.

I came to Phitsanulok to be with my partner. Before I committed I stayed 1 night and had many reservations about living here long-term. Now 3.5 years later I've grown to really enjoy living here. Loads of restaurants, coffee shops, many hospitals and nightlife (once you know where to go). During my time here I've stayed in over 40 provinces but I still rate Phitsanulok as a place to live in Thailand long- term. Many travellers use Phitsanulok as the half-way stopover point for 1 night between Bangkok and Chiang-Mai, by either road or rail. One of our Aussie friends have visited 3 times! Just one caveat, if I didn't have a Thai speaking partner I dont think I would have lasted a week.

I love phitsanalok, lovely place, lovely people, easy to lose time there. And yep go Korat , lovely there also ;), the scenery from loei to phitsanalok, excuse spelling is breathtaking .

Nice to see the drive and the city. Did this myself several times over the years. I'm a regular to Phitsanulok. When I fly in we stay for one or two nights in the P1 house hotel. Good rooms, very simple breakfast. There is a night market next to it and many food stalls along the road up to Bangkok Hospital. So we buy food there for breakfast in the evening. Very good massage place just across the road with very reasonable 3 h prices. Yes, the city is most of the year hot and humid as it is down in the plain with the river and many rice fields. My friend lives outside on the hills 500 m up where we have great weather, not so hot and cool nights even in the hot season. I like it there. There is an expat community there and women having foreigner friends is very common.

Hi Chuck and Page. We stayed at Topland Hotel Phitsanulok in August for 3 nights. Very nice hotel in good location. Great vid of town to bring back memories. You described Phitsanulok just as I thought. It’s a very Thai town with virtually no foreigners but it’s sort of a good thing, we enjoyed the city. Looking forward to the Phetchabun vid. In early 80’s had same expirience in Udon. People were looking at me and children came to touch my hand because they had never seen people so white and farang. Also outside Udon area older people some had never seen farang before me.

Here in BKK, many restaurants won’t serve you alcohol between 2 and 5, which I don’t understand, I thought the 2-5 rule was for retail sales only.

Agree…but as I think about it…Some cities here may have a curfew/disturbance type ordinance….not sure on that. And right now Thailand is in an election period that could have something to do with the no alcohol until after 5 deal….just thoughts..not verified..:-))

In Phitsanulok we usually stay at The Imperial Hotel and Convention Centre…nice swimming pool and a decent breakfast….usually goes shopping there in the mall….now we don’t goes as much because Nakhon Sawan has a new Central Shopping Centre

I went to that town in 1989, seven months after marrying my Thai wife (we meet in Hawaii). They gave the spouses a briefing about the deployment, and when the officer said town name wrong, my wife wanted to correct him. I stopped her and told her that he might get upset. I guess we will never know.

I used to go to that town r city i used the name as my password I knew not a lot of people heard of it I remember there was a a music shop on the street we would follow that road around the coner and there was a great restaurant it was brown &the walls where painted lime green there’s a big carpal in four of it the food was dry good I used to get bish made with eggs and it had green crispy sea weed on it 😊

Phitsanulok is not frequented by many foreigners other than for one night stopovers. Hence the authorities are quite strict with Thais on alcohol licence compliance especially for under age drinking. During Covid the Governor actually banned the sale of alcohol for 3 months! If you can't wait until 5pm there's scores of mama and pop shops from which to purchase beer and whisky anytime.

Hello Chuck and Paige. Now a days…….I see more and more KZbin bloggers using some sort of scan app (on their phone) to pay for small purchases while in Thailand. I’d like to get more information about that system. I’m flying to BBK in early October. So, how about a video about that? It may be helpful to those who plan to visit Thailand and can’t get a local bank account. What does it cost? Can I just load up with a deposit (at 7-Eleven) to the app and spend the money just like a Debit Card or BTS Card?
