Are games faster on M.2 SSD on PS5?

So will an M.2 SSD let me launch and play PS5 games from its internal storage without copying it to the console storage every time? Or am I mistaken?

Correct. Plays ps4/ps5 games right off the M.2.

I plan on downloading PS4 games to the M.2 and PS5 games to the internal storage. I didn't notice any difference in load times either way.

Either way the difference is so small so it wont be game changing
