A problem I have with the higher rarity gears is that the super rare gears are all conditional (more damage WHEN at low health; shield WHEN at full health; speed WHEN in a bush, etc), but the epic and mythic gears are just direct stat buffs

I was waiting for the 100% honest review and I'm so happy gears has been reworked. It's soon to say but I feel like the game is more fair already just because it doesn't feel like every other player is overpowered compared to me. Brawl Stars made a step in the right direction in this new update and it had a lot to do with how Kairos handled the mistake by not being mean and sending death threats to the dev team but rather just being honest and genuine on his thoughts about gears. Thanks again Kairos for being the kind voice for the community :)

instead of REMOVING the gear, I feel like they should just put a "recommended" sign on top of one or two gears for every brawler so unexperienced players can use that to their advantage and have more power.

With this system now, they can remove or rework a gear and give all players 1000 gold. Tje old system was way to difficult to do something like that.

Gear recommendation would make no sense because, like Kairos said, attack gear is good for 90% of the brawlers and I agree. It will give new players the impression that the other gears are useless

I have a way to balance buster. Take away the bounce from the projectiles that are sent back when shot to his shield and make two star powers, 1st star power: Buster can rotate his shield around slowly using his attack button 2nd star power: The projectiles shot into Busters shield bounce back towards the enemy, dealing 1200 damage

For what you said about having some gears only good on some brawlers, like shield is only good on low health brawlers, I don't think it is a big deal. Some gadgets like Dyna's first gadget just wont be good, but its still good to have a variety on each brawler.

You sure speed gear is bad on throwers? It helps a lot against assassins (to escape) and even sharpshooters (to dodge better).

i think it would be cool if you could get them in boxes and when you got one it would give you a menu to choose a brawler to put it on similar to the menu for adding power tokens to a brawler when you get them from a box so you could choose

Im so happy, I been playing for two years and this was the best update so far. We now can just buy any star power without waiting.. it awesome. I been waiting for Crow star-power for 1 entire year, it never came in a box or in the shop, so happy finally got it. I wish they do the same with skins like you can just buy whatever skin anytime.

I'm f2p and I heard lots of bad things about gears. I also had lots of star powers and brawlers to find, so I avoided getting any brawler to power 10. I didn't want to get scrap and tokens in boxes. So basically I didn't get any gold from the reset. I'm pretty salty about it. Still, I think it's a great update. Love Ash's and Janet's skins, the two you Kairos don't like.

Back then I had a problem with brawl stars that I keep quitting bc the game hadn’t felt like it was different, and I didn’t got the excitement of new updates like I got from the first time I played brawl stars… the feeling of “Wow, this game has so much potential”… but when gears came out I actually wasn’t excited about it, since it didn’t feel fun and different… but now, this update made me feel that feeling again, since now they can add something new and different other than new brawlers and stuff every update. So I would say I love this update 9.5/10

i'd say some gears like vision or health could be an epic gear bcus it is useful only on some brawler. and maybe resistance gear could be added to the game as an epic gear since it is only useful for some brawler. super rare gear should be like a generic kinda gear, which is applicable to almost all the brawler, like the damage gear or speed gear or maybe even the shield gear. mythic gear is already good as it is bcus it is only useful for the specific brawler

I honestly don't know what to think about the gear rarity. When they first mentioned about the brawler specific gears, the thing I had in mind was like epic gears. It would be hard to balance all the gears so they will exclude the brawlers that will be too op or just difficult to make it work on that brawlers. It makes total sense. But what is up with the mythic gears?? They are just star powers but with extra steps. The whole point of the gears was to being able to equip the same thing on multiple brawlers. They also hinted that there will be mythic gears that can be equipped on multiple brawlers and that's just the epic gears.

I think this was a great update but one thing I would like is an improvement to the tier 70 skin chainsaw buster, to me it doesn’t make sense for him to have that skin because it’s not in a lot of movies, I think the skins that come out for him should be very popular movie characters for example rocky or Rambo, with the small attention to details that could improve it, this would be a perfect 10/10 but right now it’s sitting at a 9.

I don't think the damage gear needs a nerf or something because the damage buff is strong but not game-breaking. If new gears get added in the future, damage might get outclassed slowly but still provide good value to alot of brawlers.

Uh kairos most of people think health gear only has use on tanks but thats not the case that one e just my must use on everyone you recover so fast and your chances of be alive on the match is way better with that one no matter the brawler hp, You are vulnerable for much less time with this gear since if the enemy sees you with low health it will focus you more and if you have good dodge skills you recover to full health easily without have to worry about dying on middle of the match this gear just make you survive more.

Basic Gears are pretty much the same, but switching to Gold was a pretty amazing change, never realized the multiple currencies was such a big bottleneck ! About the p2w, well, yeah BS IS kinda p2w, BUT the game is so good in every single metric, the updates and dev support is so good that it ultimately doesn't feel that bad. Progression is also decently fast specially for new players (they are getting free level 9 penny/daryl or edgar/griff wth !!!) Honestly i am super impressed with the game Now the only thing left for next big update is Edgar rework and new gears

I was able to max out my whole account with the update. All my brawlers had level 2 gears (almost all of them). But this update gave me like 300K gold.

I think that the new gear system is great but I feel like they need Legendary gears to replace the mythic gears and then mythic gear can only be equipped on a certain class. Like Assasins and Sharpshooters. They world have to change the labels but I don’t think that’ll be bad.

I had like 15 gear and 250 gear token but no brawler to use it on as all of them were at level 9 but no gold but the refund gave me a lot of value. I leveled All 9 level to 10 so i am happy

I agree with most of this. The only thing I disagree with is taking away useless gears on brawlers for sake of completionist. Why take away customization? It just seems like a weird critique. Maybe I want to run a weird build that some might think is bad, but now I can't because supercell wanted to cater towards a small group of people who just want to unlock everything in the game for the sake of doing it

IMO they shouldn't remove the least used/useful gear on each character. Mainly because people might complain about the gear not being available, and it leaves the gear open if you really want to use the gear on a brawler.

In my opinion they should keep all the super rare gears on every brawler. They should create more epic and mythic gears. I feel every brawler should have at least one epic gear in 2 updates. And every brawler should have a mythic gear mid next year. Although my friends who don’t have gears didn’t really get that much of a change.

@@AbhishekMSTE "not a big deal"? Have you played for long? Remember when Poco had his super charge rate changed in the same way, from 5 hits to 4? He got emergency nerfed right after. Remember when Sandy went from 6 hits to 5? Instant best brawler in the game. This type of change has never not been a big deal. Getting more supers is one of the strongest buffs a brawler can receive.

I totally agree with your opinion,when gears first came out i was excited! But after seeing what gears only did and for how expensive it was, I did not want to upgrade my brawlers. Eventually I did, but it was not with it. However once this new update came out I actually was more encouraged to upgrade my brawlers, and the new system seems more fun.

I have good idea for a new Epic gear: Super Debuff-Resist:Gain a 2 second long debuff immunity when activating your super. Brawlers for this gear:Bull, Jacky, Leon, Sam, Buzz, Squeak, Bea, Emz, Barley, Gus. Super Charge gear from Bull and Jacky will move to Tara and Meg.

I think mythic gears are a bad one imo. It feels like just a third star power and nothing else, really loses the “purpose” or “value” of gears. My change would be make it always a double-edge sword, such that it doesn’t feel like a third star power. For example, tick loses max health when he uses super, but his super gets more health.

The problem i see with gears is that they're a late game ability and gives a massive bonus, this bonus to a brawler thats already so good without this bonus makes it really stressful to deal with, specially with the massive level difference in matches like 2 lvl 9 vs 3 lvl 11 is basically a super high stressful match even if the 6 poeple are highly skilled, to fix gears i first think they should fix matchmaking and balance changes, im totally happy they did it to be max lvl when u purchase a gear, but that just makes it more difficult to deal with a lvl 9 vs a lvl 11, ty for reading love you

i disagree with removing super rare gears from some brawlers. lets say they remove the shield gear from tanky brawlers like frank and el primo, what happens if someone wants to make a super tanky frank with max hp for fun? Even though the vision gear is pretty much useless of assassins like edgar, it can be used on darryl's gadget or mortis's super.

The recharge gear is super good on sprout 4 shots for a super is significantly much better than 5 shots especially on a super valuable super like sprouts

I absolutely agree with you on the subject of removing some super rare gears from brawlers. That’s honestly my biggest complaint.

Agree would much rather have gears that are meaningful to craft for each brawler. Not a fan of having gears that I will never craft for certain brawlers because they offer little value.
