Oh, sure, Gen Z has it so easy with no affordable housing, a collapsing NHS, jobs that pay barely enough to survive but require 3 rounds of interviews, every qualification under the sun, and years of experience. And let’s not forget the cheap cost of living! The list of perks goes on and on. Really, they’ve got it made, don’t they?

You forgot the crippling debt.

I think they'd rather have a house, a functioning country and a future. But that's all gone now.. Take away their future all they've got is the present. So they don't want to work for nothing and want to enjoy the present as much as possible, can't blame them.
@BritWolf1Күн бұрын
I guess when they got no hope of a house or future, they gotta try enjoy the present more.

Im sure gen z would love all the luxuries their parents enjoyed such as affordable housing, job security, final pension salary schemes and energy bills not hitting the stratosphere

I was born in 1966. I could never afford to buy a property so I left the UK in 2001. I was made redundant in the early 90s and worked at low paid jobs in my teens. We've all bloody struggled. Difference is my last job was 8 years my current job 24. Since 17 I've been unemployed 3 months. My house is paid off, I have no debt and money in the bank. Because I know money in my pocket is better than scrounging for scraps and whinging about how crap life is.

The idea of having an 'essential' coffee machine may seem crazy, however I would point out that Gen z have moved on from what alot of boomers would have deemed essential such as cigarettes and alcohol (although they would not admit it) I am sure they would swap their coffee machine for an affordable house or final salary pension scheme in a heartbeat.
@totallybored5526Күн бұрын
Boomers playgrounds were bombsites, houses with no indoor plumbing and beaten at home and school, Gen Z “can’t live without coffee machines😭”.
@sarries1Күн бұрын
@totallybored5526 It should also be noted that out of these bombsites were built the affordable new homes that the boomers were then able to buy.Plus the increase in employment etc. living standards rose, along with wages, life expectancy but hey let's just go on about a coffee machine shall we?
@sarries1Күн бұрын
@totallybored5526 I would also add that if boomers were beaten at home and school so much why would most state ' a smack never hurt me' and advocate it so much?

Carole is the reason the younger generations would happily throw boomers under a bus, the millennial and gen z life experience is working for no long term rewards. the promise used to be you get a job, you find a partner, you buy a house, start a family. now they cant do that, they cant save money because rents are insane, they can't buy houses because they're 12x the average salary now, so faced with bleak prospects they want a coffee machine because in the long run its cheaper than buying chain coffee every day and of course even Carole has a problem with that. honestly, there's more empathy in plants than that woman.
@dominiclawson5362Күн бұрын
boomers are more entitled/spoilt than gen Z
@Dawnie65Күн бұрын
How do you work that out? Have you got grandparents? Are you saying that your grandparents are entitled and spoilt? I can only assume that that comment that you’ve just made you are a gen z and that just tells you what sort of person you are entitled brat

Yes. They will not be able to hold down a job because they won’t be able to cope with having somebody tell them what to do within that job. They’ll probably not be able to drive because they won’t be able to cope with somebody telling them how to drive, basically they are ruined and that is the country’s futureand it is a very very big worry
