I’ve got buyers remorse atm. Been a big advocate of lakes for a long time but recently bought the new bont riot 24 as they look like great value. Still not been delivered but can’t help thinking about I should have dug deeper into my pocket and got the lakes

I discovered lake a few years ago and I only buy lake now. I have mutant wide feet, their wide fit are still slightly too narrow for me but they’re the widest out there.

Having just got my 1st pair of Lakes’ recently the answer is unequivocally yes. IMHO contact points - so saddle, shoes, shorts etc are where, if you can afford it, you shouldn’t skimp so buy the best you can afford. Shoes are an investment but if you do a lot of riding you will absolutely get your moneys worth. You can’t put a price on comfort.

Love the fit of my Lake CX238, however I hate how they look. Wanted a pair of the higher end shoes that look great, but these don’t fit as race shoes have to have narrow toe boxes according to Lake. Hopefully Lake will bring out a nicer looking shoe with the Competition last.

lake's fit and finish is ..... amateurish vs shimano/specialized/sidi

Sidi? Undersized by a whole size,far too narrow,every toe box varies from model to model,insoles are made from a kelloggs cereal box,too vented for the UK Climate,sometimes ok for 2 or 3 hrs but agony once you get to 5hrs etc etc

I agree that the finish is not as good as other brands. but if there's one thing Lake excells at it's fit. they have a guide to guide you to the perfect fit for your feet and their range covers most footschapes. I have had lake in the past and they were great. Now, I'm riding Bont vaypor and riot+.
