If there is one thing I have learned in the past few years of watching Burbank? After seeing failure after massive failure? The answer is: "No,...nothing scares a Disney investor"

When I went through Traditions as a new Cast Member in the early 90’s they told us about the near hostile takeover by Saul Steinberg in 1984. Disney had lost its way since Walt’s death, but after that near miss the Board brought in Eisner and Frank Wells. And the Disney Decade/Renaissance began. So…they did learn their lesson before so it can be done. But they need to do it quick.

After constant price increases and Disney cancelling my DAS pass I quit going. I'm local to WDW and used to give them lots of my money. I don't anymore. Its a total rip off.

I still can't believe they cancelled the DAS passes. That may be the most disgusting thing Disney has ever done.

It's gotten crazy for sure. At Wilderness Lodge, the bison burger used to be $15, it's now $25. 😮

Is it really?? I love that burger but haven't had it in a few years. On principle $20+ for a buger is wild

The free dining plans are only applicable for non discounted rooms. You’ll ultimately save more via room discounts. This is a smokescreen

While I agree that Epic Universe is of great concern to Disney, I believe that their single largest issue is the decline in value by comparison to the increase in price. Paying more for less is a recipe for disaster. Had Disney maintained their former levels of service and value with the increase in price, customers would have complained much less. However, instead, they chose the "Highway Man" approach and blatantly robbed their guests. That is the main issue. Then, secondly, it is the political and ideological agenda barrage on unsuspecting consumers. Ridiculously trying to rewrite history to some sort of fairytale. It's not genuine or organic, but instead, forced and hostile. These are the areas that need to be addressed. Epic Universe, while important, is the least of their concerns.

They want to win back customers?! That’s freaking easy. Stop treating the regular folk like trash and that’s a good start. Cut out the stupid boarding groups get rid of the virtual queue. Revamp the lightning lane to more of a fast pass. Stop jacking up the prices. And that’ll be a good start and one more thing clean up the park a little bit fix up the attractions. Thank you for the video.

You nailed it. I think the Disney dining plan still ends up saving you money even if sticker price it's more because meals are taken care of. It also makes the experience less stressful.

The Bob Iger Corporation is going to reap what they’ve sown. Praying for a hostile takeover. I don’t see them having the self awareness to right the sinking ship on their own. The damage Iger and company have inflicted is significant.

I wonder how many people are turned off by the Genie/Lightning lane systems too. Personally, I don't want to spend all day dealing with something like that, nor do I want to be tied to a plan made days or weeks earlier when I was at home. Fast pass was one thing, you were already at the park and could figure out the next two hours or so based on where you were already. Also, staying on property used to give us 3 extra magic hours at night so there was no need to stand in line for an hour during the day when you could find so many other things to do during those hours - like wander around Tom Sawer's island, watch the glass blower for a while, really LOOK at the scenery and quirky little attention to detail, or visit all of the other less in-demand attractions until the evening when rides like Thunder Mountain and the Pirates can be a walk-on. Some of us go to the parks to relax and get away from our stressful lives. Being on my phone all day, trying to book the next thing? No Thanks. What's the point?

Going to Disney in buying food is like going to a football game like a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game or attempt the Lightning hockey game or a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game and buying food but you're paying highly prices for the drinks and the food

With so many people being on Facebook for ours or tiktok for days at a time it doesn't hurt to check menu prices that are easily available on the Disney app. This helps you to avoid places that are way overpriced or even not a good place to spend any money based on reviews. If your spending hundreds already how hard is it to spend a few minutes and check menu pricing?

You'd be surprised at the amount of people who pay for airfare, hotels but wait to buy their park tickets the day of. The info is easily found on the website but people don't tend to check it

I'm glad Universal Theme Parks doesn't have a direct connection to the stock market. Yes, they're a part of Comcast and Comcast is obviously in the stock market but I don't see Universal Parks making decisions in their parks simply to make investors happy unlike what Disney has to do. Obviously yeah they need to bring in profits but theme parks isn't the major driver of revenue and profits for Comcast.

There is something to be cautious about for an investor... Spending. Putting too much on the credit card is risky. Every attraction (Coasters, DreamWorks, etc), every new park (Frisco, Great Britain, etc) is new debt. Cheap debt is intoxicating but eventually the bill comes due. I don't know what the projected ROI timeline is for Epic & all the new toys, but they better be inline with the debt payments. Lastly, Comcast is dealing with a few issues of their own. I believe they just announced they are spinning off many of their cable media assets like Golf channel, USA Network, MSNBC. They are going through a realignment and have moved/consolidated several c-level positions. So yes, there are things to be very cautious about (another pandemic, social unrest on a national scale...?) Bonus: this is what has Disney in a bad way. When all of that juicy Marvel money was rolling in, they overspent for Fox & Sky (the India piece is already gone poof). They obligated themselves to acquire Universal's 33% of Hulu. They went all in on becoming Disney+. They greenlight several bad movies with oversized budgets. And oh by the way...they opened Shanghai Disneyland. That's a LOT of debt in 15 yrs.

Lightning Lane was the final straw for my family. It's such a disgusting message to send to children, "If you have money, that makes you better than everyone else, you don't have to wait in line with those poor people. You can cut right in front of them." My kids are young adults now who have no desire to return, so I may never go back to a Disney park. It might take me a few years to get there, but I can't wait for Epic Universe!
