Are Le Labo candles worth it? | Candle Chats

Oh, man, I am soooo sad to see that you might have left YT!! Your last video was a year ago so I’m assuming this? Anyway!! Absolutely LOVE your content and your down to earth approach to the world of candles. I’ve been a 25 year fan of DIPTYQUE and rigaud and trudon etc - and just in the last 2-3 weeks gave veered off into Le Labo and Byredo - to me, the new generation of candles! I know they’re not brand new, but new to me. Thanks much for your great video and I hope you come back!

I found Le Labo candles burn perfectly, but you have to trim your wicks! The funnel shape helps keep the heat in and burn more evenly. Saying that you get a big huge flame in some of these videos tells me you're probably not trimming. Out of the many candles I've gone through, Le Labo were some of the best in terms of an even burn.

I love le labo candles but the burn isn’t great. I know to trim my wicks.

yes best burn ive had out of all the high ends. and i trimmed all of them.

I’ve generally never left a comment on a KZbin video before, but just wanted to say: your candle videos (and I’ve watched a lot on here) are the best. Please keep going because I really think this channel should grow and grow. You both have a great, refreshing style. PS how would you rate the throw on a Boy Smells candle? I keep hearing mixed opinions, so I’ve been hesitant to buy one!

This made my day!! Thank you so much! Boy Smells is one of my favorite brands. The throw is good to incredible depending on the scent. The only thing that bothers me about them is that they burn pretty terribly. But the throw is great. Some of the scents have borderline too much throw and I move them to other rooms.

Hi, I think a tapered shape actually helps preventing tunnelling *theoretically*

In theory yes but every Le Labo I’ve had has tunneled and the tapered glass makes soot inevitable

@@candlechats such a shame. have you tried using an illuma lid or a photophore? works perfectly for me and looks better than using foil

Oh I’ll have to look into it. I honestly don’t mind the foil. I just add it at the end of the burn for about 10 minutes and I reuse the same piece

I've just started my scented candle journey, and seem to be failing, in that the candles smell great in the shop but once home and burning, no scent. I'm trying my first high end brand, Byredo cotton poplin, and to be honest a little disappointed ... What are your thoughts on you guys giving your views by comparisons ? Your top 5, and your reasons for rating them ? Based on your review I'm keen to try Tree House but a little sceptical, just in case there's another brand that's more effective ...

This candle smells so good when you just give it a sniff unlit. But light it and NOTHING. Smells like absolutely nothing. So tired of bath and body works candles out-performing every high end brand I have tried. Just crazy

Thank you so much!! Some of them are just coasters that I’ve had for years that I got from Anthropologie and the prettier ones are ones I recently commissioned from one of my favorite ceramicists. Her business is called rare bird and she’s so incredibly talented!
