This is true. When Malcolm X went to Saudi Arabia for the first time for his first Hajj it amazed me he did not know Arabic. Malcom spent three years of his life as an actual Muslim that's after he took Hajj. The rest he was just part of a Black Nationalistic Organization. The grandson of Malcolm X meeting a Sunni Muslim in prison was asked. "Are you a Muslim?" He responded yes I am a Muslim. "No like a real Muslim not a fake Muslim like the Nation of Islam." It's more about uplifting the black man instead of learning about hadith and the tenants of the religion. We look at this and we see that happening in the Nation but there are many cults inside the Christian body that follow the same paradigm. Claiming Christ but are not a real Christian body of believers. Same thing, more about what can Christ can do for me rather than how can I learn more about Him.

Thank you. I used to get so annoyed by ppl TELLING me that I was *Black Muslim/NOI*. I always corrected them. I was a Muslim that happened to be *black*. There's a huge difference. I followed the Sunnah and had zero ties or allegiance... barely any knowledge of the NOI

The way I understand it, the nation of Islam is to orthodox Islam what Mormonism or the Jehovah’s Witnesses are to biblical Christianity.

In the theological sense, yes, and arguably in the secular sense as well, at least in the case of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the nation of Islam. In the theological sense, they claim to be followers of one religion, but their beliefs, fundamentally contradict those of the religion they claim to follow.
