The only membership we have is AAA, I kind of have to to have AAA car insurance, but I also used it a couple times when my battery had to be charged. I didn’t use it enough to be worth it, but we get a better rate on the car insurance, so it’s worth it for us. If I would switch to a different car insurance, I would not renew it.

Our auto insurance offered roadside assistance for $6 a year so we got that instead. Had to use it once and not a problem.

Gym - I pay $19 a month for myself which includes childcare for my daughter and I have unlimited guest passes so I can take anyone I want with me. I love it. And I feel it’s a great value.

I really enjoy your frugal living videos! I think you are unique on you tube in that you haven't been in debt. Most frugal living videos are all about debt and Dave Ramsey. My only debt is my mortgage so i appreciate our similar outlooks.

I take issue with the last thing you said about "losing" because going to a gym has benefits regardless of "losing" weight. Range of motion and mood stabilization kept me going to the gym. I also enjoy the fellowship of other patrons.

We had a Sam's Club membership for years but didn't renew it this past Dec. There used to be things we could only get there...but things change. Also, we use a food vacuum machine to extend the life of some foods. I used it today after opening a block of cheese. It will greatly extend the life of the cheese.

Great tips. I personally have had nothing but problems with AAA, but others say good things about them.

Triple A.....I was really let down by Triple A. Thought I would cancel it but the following year I really got my money's worth. We were moving from Arizona to Wisconsin, our radiator blew in Laramie, Wyoming. I was transferred 5 times on Triple A, never received any help. Thank God! It was summer, finally filled it w water from bottles! Upon getting home to Wisconsin I called Triple A n it was pretty much "tough!" They offered no apologies, compensations, nothing. The following year my old car broke down 4! Times, I had no guilt trip having it towed. Don't know how dependable they r when we r driving anymore.

if you're only using AAA for roadside assistance/towing, compare to your auto insurance. Our auto insurance for $3/vehicle/month adds comparable roadside assistance/towing which is much cheaper than AAA so we switched from AAA.

Gym memberships are good if you need help with technique and the use of well maintained or newer equipment. That's my justification for having them. I often let my Costco membership expire. Some of the 'savings' are so much if you shop around. So I found a friend to go with them on their card. I found myself using the Flipp app to hunt for specific items on sale.

Also, we don't have Amazon Prime because we know we wouldn't use any of its extra benefits. I don't have to have things delivered in 2 days. I can wait. For us, paying $99 a year would be paying for shipping we don't need to pay just by meeting the $25 minimum.

Pat Wagner Amazon Prime..its not about instant delivery. I get free delivery n click on the box that tells them to take their time n most of the time I get $1 digital credit which I use to pay for a movie. I love Amazon Prime. They usually have the lowest prices, free shipping n streaming. Renew it every year n I am a very frugal person.

Hi, Esther...on Amazon, lots of items are eligible for free shipping if your order is a minimum of $25. I find this works well for us. I never pay shipping by always having my order reach $25. Did I explain it better? ☺

For some people, Prime makes sense. For my husband & me, it wouldn't. We would never use the extras that come w/ it such as movies & live streaming. ☺

Pat Wagner thanks, good to know I have a free trial right now but I'm not going to join, I think I can order $25 easily as little as I will be ordering.😊
