I lost my career because a jealous coworker and manager wanted me to quit, so I was falsely accused. Lost my job the same day as I was made aware that there had been false accusations against me. I was not afforded to know, let alone face my accuser.

As a man I experienced sexual harassment in the workplace. As a 24 year old recent University graduate I accept a job at a bank. My 55 year old recently divorced female boss really enjoyed our exclusive meetings and her ham handed flirtations. I lost that job when I refused to attend a “meeting” outside of work, at her home on Saturday where she suggested a few drinks. By turning her down I apparently didn’t display the appropriate amount of “initiative”, although until that point my reviews had been superlative. I was let go at the end of the probationary period. Had I been female and my boss male there would have been a number of options available to me, but alas my “white male privilege” was not enough to keep me from losing my job.

You should have gone and sued the bank into the ground when she made her play. Always wear a body camera. Your words have to be backed up with independent evidence, her lies are believed without it.

I feel like USA male circumcision comes out of this root concept, and that countless suffering and generational body trauma continues to this day. as a male from a country that does not do it, its fucking appalling the numbers, but equally the culture that turns a blind eye to it, even today. completely unscientific and abusive, awful.

I remember a young 14 yo friend, in the 1960s, who got angry because she did not get enough attention while walking down the street. She said "I feel like going out in the street and dropping my pants." She said this in front of her older sister and me. Her anger really shocked me.

haha, i have a cousin a very beautifull young woman. Everybody were turning their heads and she is/was constatly complimented. I bought her a beautifull black german shepard and after a walk with him she will say , i hate him', nobody is looking at me now. She was really hurt. This was 10 years ago, but she is OK now . I'm an Indian physician and the current news cycle here is covering a story about the rape and murder of a doctor in a medical university. It's absolutely abhorrent and never should've happened. Lock away the perpetrators and throw away the keys, I say. But as I scroll social media all I can see is just blame squarely placed on men as a whole. Apparently all men are complicit in the act of the depraved few that commit heinous acts of violence because women falsely believe that we're enabling them for some reason? In which sane society has rape and sexual harassment ever been acceptable, let alone desirable? We built social systems and laws to protect women and enforce them vigorously. A man can be sent to prison simply for staring at a woman for too long now. The media is full of messaging that portrays it in a bad light and we publicly humiliate and shun the people who outrage the modesty of women. What more do they want? I'm still willing to intervene whenever and wherever I can because that's the right thing to do but to systemically eradicate sexual violence altogether? It's a pipe dream. This is a condition of human existence and will continue to be a problem till the end of time. A more pragmatic approach would be to play it safe and avoid situations leading to these things in the first place, better surveillance, making approaching authorities more easy and accessible and to lean more into justly enforcing the laws and doling out stricter punishments for perpetrators to make an example out of them.

I've been seeing it as well a lot in the Instagram stories and status people are uploading. I even had an argument with 2 of my female friends and my sister regarding it. I know exactly the message which you are talking about. I basically told them, if that is what they think of men in general then I am a man as well and that my whole life I've tried to protect my sister at my own risk and this curtesy I've extented to my female friends as well. But they keep insisting that such posts are not about me. Mind you, the posts clearly targets those men who tell women to play it safe, to not wear provocative clothes. Those men are not the &@#₹ists but the ones who try to protect the women. They are the ones who RISK THEIR OWN LIVES TO PROTECT THESE WOMEN. Somehow this simple message evaded thier logic. Men protecting them is something they think is the DUTY of all men, not a COURTESY we extend. Hence why they are not thankful or grateful, but are vicious when even one such incident happens. Needless to say, they don't know why I broke friendship with them. They know the protective mindset I have towards females, as they themselves have been the benificiaries of that at some time or the other, so they won't call me a %₹@# apologist. But thier absolute lack of understanding on why I got triggered by their posts even after I explained to them how it was incorrect, was simply astounding to me.

I enjoy your commentaries Dr Fiamingo, and want to thank you for your work. In the 1970’s, almost all of us were (actually) raped, groped and treated like commodities at work. It was easy to see that this behavior was perpetuated by the booming porn industry, as posters of naked women began to appear in bars, auto repair shops and manager’s offices all over the US. While I agree that Dworkin was a man-hating feminist, at the time her commentaries woke women up to our inner voices of “foul play”, which VERY quickly brought down these symbols of acceptable rape and groping in the work place. It’s important to recognize that women really were dehumanized and hung out for rape in Dworkin’s America. I often praised her willingness to stand up for all women, and I didn’t see that her perspective was abusive to men until she became an unrelenting anti-male activist. Feminism appeared to me to be an important check on an industry that was growing more public by the day. While I agree that feminism went too far, and is still collecting hurt/traumatized young women, the idea that young women are for the taking may never end. Not because men won’t end it, but because the media and porn industries will never be checked. I don’t know more than 1 or 2 women in the 70’s who weren’t groped or raped at work. I know several women who were the children born to women who were date raped. I also know one woman who was locked in her apartment and tortured and raped. All this, and more, happened in the 70’s. The streets were unsafe, day or night. The universities were unsafe, day or night. I can see that things have gotten better for myriad reasons, not the least of which was the historic check on public displays of porn, which was prompted by a very homely, angry woman named Andrea Dworkin in the late 1970’s. For this one, heroic aspect of feminism, I am thankful.

Justice and pursuit of the truth, no matter where it leads or how uncomfortable we might FEEL, both during said pursuit and upon what we find, is the responsibility of everyone who wants to leave our descendants a slightly saner world than the one we found. In a practical sense, there are things women can do to minimize their risk of sexual assault; but feminism insists that women not do these things, justified by the claim that they shouldn't have to. Relegating themselves to a passive role forces women to rely on men to protect them from sexual assault. If you aren't willing to dress demurely, avoid wild parties, avoid dangerous parts of town, avoid consuming too much alcohol and drugs, then you pretty much just have to take whatever life sends your way on the chin...and blame everyone around you.
