LOL!!! 🤣 You pulled out the dad joke! 🤣 It is a great tool for the toolkit. Thanks for sharing with us! I haven’t even thought about the jib shot - thanks!
@tombuck4 жыл бұрын
The jib shot is really fun! It was possible with my manual slider, but I always felt the need to keep one hand on the camera at all times, which wasn't super practical. I've been trying to sprinkle at least one dad joke in every video. I kinda felt bad about this one, but I thought it was really funny...

Another great video! I can't count the number of times I've put that in my basket and then decided against it! As far as I can see you didn't get the Headone unit with it? I felt I'd have to get both which is super expensive and that's what ultimately put me off. Do you find it a little limiting without the rotating head - you said something about wanting the camera to track you as it slid? I got a motorised full size Neewer slider which does the job but it's a little awkward to use - and I don't "enjoy" using it like I know I would the Edelkrone!
@tombuck4 жыл бұрын
As of now I only have the slider one, but I’d like the HeadOne (and the JibOne!). It’s somewhat limiting, but with the slider moving on it’s own, I can pan and tilt my video head myself. I definitely plan on expanding this setup in the future!

@@tombuck Now have to go and see what the JibOne is! Anything that's part if of a "system" can start emptying your pockets very quickly!

What is the name of that boom or arm attached that's holding the light above your head? at 3:51 mark
@tombuck4 жыл бұрын
It’s actually a gimbal extension attached to a cheap light stand with the ball head from my Gorillapod. I’m working on a studio tour video that explains it a bit more. But just yesterday I installed a mount to the ceiling so I shouldn’t need to use it any more 👍

Hi Tom, great video. What tripod/head are you using for the tilt?
@tombuck4 жыл бұрын
Most of the time I use an old Manfrotto head that they don't make anymore, but the newer (and better) equivalent is the MVH500AH.
@stevewturnbull4 жыл бұрын
@@tombuck Ah that's the one I've got but the problem is I can't mount the slider properly on the plate or do vertical shots because the head springs back :(
@tombuck4 жыл бұрын
Hmm, is your lock broken? You should be able to position the head however you want and then turn the side knob to lock it in place 🤔
@stevewturnbull4 жыл бұрын
@@tombuck Not sure I understand. It's a fluid head with a counterbalance so the only way round that would be to remove the spring.

Great video! I find that it’s a bit noisy. Have you had this problem. If so, how do you deal with it?
@tombuck3 жыл бұрын
It definitely makes an audible noise, but hasn't been too bad for me. I do mainly use it for b-roll shots, where I won't be using the audio, but I have used it during live streams with no issues (using a mic that's not mounted to the camera).

The issue I have with this slider is that it makes noise. I wanted to shoot a documentary and add some movement but I'm afraid it will be too loud for interviews.
@tombuck2 жыл бұрын
I can only speak to mine since it's the only one I've used, but it's pretty quiet. There's definitely noise, but nothing that's ever gotten picked up on camera (for me anyway- you're setup might be totally different).
@lecommis68422 жыл бұрын
@@tombuck Hey Tom, thanks a lot for responding to my comment. I'm not sure if it's psychological or not but when I listen to your sound with my headset I think I can hear it a bit. But anyway it's not loud enough so the sound would be unusable. Not to contradict what you're saying of course but I'm trying to find the perfect slider for my project. Thanks again Tom. It's really cool that you speak to your fans 🙂

Really haven’t liked eldekrone sliders, I’m a big fan of rhino sliders, to me is by far the very best.. I don’t like to rely on a app to let me use the slider, or if your WiFi is down it doesn’t let you, connect .. say your in a area where connection is horrible, you won’t be able to use the slider without the app. Gerald undone did a review about it too if you wanna take a look at it.
@tombuck4 жыл бұрын
I've had the same though, which is why I do wish there was a simple switch to kick it into manual mode. The Rhino sliders looks great- just beyond my budget. I saw today that Edelkrone released a physical controller that can pair with all their gear, so I preordered one. 😬
@file1man5 ай бұрын
@tombuck tom, did you find the edelkrone physical controller useful?. My quick impression is that the controller allows control of more than one type of edelkrone product via a usb connected computer. I bought that small slider, some motor and jib units but never found any edelkrone tutorials so the equipment sits unused. I believe edelkrone even removed their marketing videos showing how they used their products. Any suggestions to find edelkrone tutorials or examples of how to use edelkrone products. I found their original marketing videos very creative, but the vids have been removed. Any suggestions? Gary
