The open alpine trails are great. Quite different to my local hear. We have a lot of sandy/loamy pine trails. They are good (and really quiet) but not many spectacular views! We have a few courses like this in the South Island.

Living in Colorado, I'm lucky enough to be within a fairly short drive (few hours) from a few different DH parks. Even though I'm a big believer in earning your descent, sometimes there's nothing better than being able to hop on the lifts and just do laps
