This is what I like about Mike. He's giving an honest, well rounded review of products that he is heavily affiliated with. He's not just throwing a bunch of the positives at you. He always gives both sides of the story when it comes to products. Keep it going man, who knows one day maybe we can go fishing together and I can cross an angler off my bucket list

Hardly honest. He's mainly just jigging the other (non-googan) baits and when he does swim them its at a much lower speed giving the impression that they have a weaker action.

@@ConsumeYourSoul619 Exactly. He doesn't even fish the other baits which was the point of "a comparison" to "see if the googan baits are scams", otherwise why even mention the others. In the water tests eveything in the water was chasing the Rapala. He mentioned he was concerned about the hooks holding up to large fish and then proceeds to catch a bunch of small fish with the "micro-baits",... who'da thunk? Large fish aren't going to waste the energy chasing a small bait,.. unless you accidentally smack them in the nose. None of them are worth $5, let alone $8 or $10. The googan "micro-baits" are definitely a scam,.. unless you want to catch "micro-fish".

I’ve watched 1rod for such a long time and honestly it’s amazing to see that he still grinds out videos. I took a break from fishing just cause life priorities and once I started fishing again I came back to this channel and started watching new content and rewatching old content. More recently I’ve started using these videos for educational purposes which thankfully I have been catching a lot more fish as well as fish species due to the great videos. Keep it up 1Rod!!

The countdown was made with trout in mind hence the finer hook gauge. This also helps when you get your $10 lure caught in a snag you can put pressure on the hooks enough to bend the hooks out to be able to get it back 👍

I've had other BPM baits kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!

In what world would you say that the baits the company you’re sponsored by are a scam? I use a few googan baits so I don’t want to come across as just being against googan. Great review. All great points. One of my favorite things ever is mystery tackle box which introduced me to googan squad baits. They are fantastic. When you talk about "appendage shaped baits", you might try the Macro Banger. I picked one up in a book store at a truck stop. Had to add my own hooks ; )

I believe these look great and work very well, *but there are other micro lures that are much cheaper and most likely have similar results.* Bass Pro XTS and XPS series lures and Rebel's Creature Lures come to mind. They are about $2.50 and $5, respectively for each brand. I highly recommend these.

I prefer bendy hooks (as long as they are reasonably durable) so that I can get my lures back easier if they get snagged. I also feel like some hooks that don't bend, snap easier. PS. Great to have you posting so actively man! Keep up the good work

I love the cotton cordell's lipless cranks. They do a great job and are cheap. Great cold water bait. I have tried a bunch of the others but always come back to the cotton cordells.

VMC hooks (the ones used on rapala baits) don't really pull away from the competition until size 6 and up...I've found that the lighter wire (and small) hooks have a little bit of flex but won't straighten.

You should try using a zoom bubblegum trick worm weightless fish it on top water like a snake swimming or you could let it sink slowly around structure it works phenomenal either way but when you fish it top water you gotta let them eat it atleast five seconds or your gonna miss a lot of bites
