Legacy Tekken player since T2 here. I must say I think Harada and co. have made the best Tekken ever. Personally enjoyed this game so much. Is it perfect: hell no. But as far as being innovative and being a leader in its industry then hell yeah. I feel like Tekken got Sega to wake up the VF giant...

I stopped playing T8. The disappointment of Clive did it for me. I was hoping for bamco to pull off a big name DLC. I will wait for the season 2 update to play again. The heat and 50 50 has worn me out. I'm currently addicted to marvel rivals. It's so much fun

The 50/50 is not that big of a problem if they didn't so often lead to a .... launcher and you watching your screen doing nothing for the next 10 seconds and watching 60% of your hp disappear. This is really what fucks up this game: the totally abusive combos.

I mean using Steam Charts (Granted Tekken 7 had already been out for 2 years prior to its steam launch) Not only do you see the same slope high at the start curves down. Within this same period Tekken 8 has even better numbers than that. In fact it's close to averaging Tekken 7's peaks on PC hovering just below or exceeding 10k. What this means is that general interest for Tekken goes down which leaves only better players. While numbers are lower they're higher than they were for Tekken 7 so growth has occured.

4:30 Final Fantasy is a Playstation franchise. Most people that would try the game or come back because of Clive would be in PS4/5. Legacy Tekken fans probably take it more serious and play on PC, hence why Hei is more popular in steam charts.

Final Fantasy has been released on PC in the past. It’s not entirely exclusive to PlayStation.

@@funkrates4778 It's still a PlayStation franchise. FF games release first on PS. The entire history of the series is tied to it. Not to mention FF16 sales on record vastly outnumber those on PC by a large margin. FF is one of the console seller brands for Sony, not for anyone else.

This is my first Tekken and I love it, I just need a break and gonna come back season 2. I find myself getting frustrated and mad too much lol I’ve never felt it at such a high intensity about any game (not even like league of legends) Hope others and content creators come back then too and help grow the community

I have also written on Steam and Twitter, that the 2nd season of Tekken8 has to decide everything, I have only now understood what people mean by forced 50/50, it's hell and I also think that more good single-player content is important, not everyone wants to be beaten up online, not even me and I have been a Tekkenonline gamer since 2019. Where is the variety when you only meet Heihachi and Clive, where is the variety when so many fights run the same, there are also too many stages with gimmicks for me.

Been having a blast with friends playing on the RPCS3 emulator.. be it Tekken 5 DR, Tekken 6 or even Tag 2, they all working and has open lobbies here and there. Tekken 8 is only good if you watch someone play, if you play it yourself , it's just agony and constant misery.

Unfortunate to see the reaction to Clive, he was my most wanted character for the game since day 1. I assume its an outspoken minority of the community but i think they did a fantastic job making him work in a fighting game, while still keeping so many of his moves so so similar to ff16

Aesthetically I don't have any issues with him. This game is already wildly inconsistent in that regard. But his range is absolutely insane. I don't particularly enjoy getting poked from 5 meters away. It's like Alisa on steroids, especially with how well his stuff tracks too. To make a character who can completely negate so many fundamental aspects of Tekken - footsies, spacing - is a mistake.

Tried the character from the 72 hours early access, know this character is gonna be hell to fight against with even more constant 50/50 + long reach + high damage. I just don't want to touch the game anymore after that as I felt so lazy to play Tekken 8 in the meantime, and thankfully becuz of that I didn't get screwed by the penalty on rage quits which I think was a great thing they finally do it then someone mentioned about the game unable to decide which one is doing the rage quit. So, thank god or I'd be losing my mind from it

They need to fix polaris crash on PC. I got demoted from Bushin to Kinshin because polaris crash happened on loading screen. And I think that my opponent also got penalized. So how the hell are they going to fix plugging when they didn't fix Polaris crash that exists in the game since day one?

They're gonna release Season 2 Patch and it wont balance Clive at all. Then it'll be a whole year of them doing what they did to nina and drag. (which after looking back was actually absolutely nothing lol) They spent a year promoting the tour when they should have fixed the game.

Clive sucks. In terms of design he is 100% bland, uninspired, unoriginal. It really is the level zero of professional character design. His moves don't fit tekken. Even the character itself suffers from being in tekken since he can't express what he is: a paladin of sort anyway, or he would break the game entirely. His moves are too strong, of course, he is pay 2 win after all or bait for customers if you prefer. When I saw his announcement I felt an IMMENSE disappointment. The only thing I saw was the GREED and the cynical marketing move from bamco and squenix . It felt like they were spiting on my face. And people leave tekken because they grew tired of spending half the match not touching the buttons. The juggle/heat/"combos" is a long and unfunny joke and people don't want to cope with the frustration forever. Too many characters are unbalanced and completely OP and fighting against them is a miserable experience. The early fun turns into anger and then bitterness and uninstall.

Please explain how he is uninspired or unoriginal ESPECIALLY in the context of tekken. He is original and unique within his own series of games certainly is in tekken. What did we need karate man #10 and call that unique? Tekken is literally even known for designing characters based off real life people like Lei and Law. Don't just use words in a meaningless way

That's the thing Tekken is based of real life character fighters with some fantasy mixed in but Clive is legitimately nothing but Fantasy character that cause my eyes to bleed out of my sockets. Besides Tifa was much better fit, she's a brawler not some weeb fantasy wet dream for edgy kids
